Potterheads don't know that many mythicial figures have the name taboo long before Voldemort. Percy's math teacher and her sisters are referred to by the Greeks as Kindly Ones to avoid invoking thier wrath. H des was referred to as:The Silent One,He Who Has Many Names,The Hospitable One and The Zeus of the Netherworld. Then Christians made that his whole thing. Persephone is referred to as:She Who Fasts,The Pale Queen,The Fasting One,"Girl" or "Maiden."
basically annabeth’s plan was to use percy as bait for clarisse to be distracted from defending the flag. so luke and them got to it a lot easier. she didn’t help him bc she knows that as a halfblood he possesses natural fighting and sword skills and she pushed him to use it and tap into that side. basically she knew he would handle it just fine. as a daughter of athena, the goddess of wisdom and battle, she tends to strategize and think ahead without telling anyone what shes thinking so a lot of her choices might seem odd at first😭😭😭
I honestly don't understand why people are so confused as to what annabeth was planning. They literally say she's always 6 steps ahead of everyone, like they spell it out to the audience through a whole as speech around her capabilities and people still act confused.
a lot of people don’t catch it but the water in the fountain actually grabbed onto Nancy and forced her in. also the cut to black was because of the ads on disney plus for some people
I didn’t actually catch that in the fountain scene but I see it now on second watch. And I did think that about the cuts to black but didn’t imagine Disney plus played that many ads
4:48 omg that’s a great interpretation!! I just assumed she was depressed being around Gabe and was sitting out there to be away from him. I like the Poseidon connection way better though 😂
2:05 love your insight on how it seems when you know the films! Us bookfans love that this detail from the books was kept - it’s a basic pen with a cap. Not looking fancy, just a cappen :D
Annabeth is more about battle strategy than actual fighting, though she is very good at fighting but her skills are more about coming up with the plans. I think if it looked like it was getting really dangerous Annabeth would have stepped in but she didn't need too. Thats why in the films for book readers it was pretty strange that she was the person fighting Percy. Like thats not really who she is, she leans more towards doing the battle strategies rather that going all gung ho and attacking Percy. In the books and here she essentially used Percy to get the win since they were on the same side, thats more her style not attacking directly.
Glad you're enjoying the series so far! It's far more loyal to the books than the movies, hoping to see more of it 5:48 basically, monsters like eating half-bloods, at least most of them, those who do not eat them like having them killed because of some past beef they have with the half-blood's divine parent, but you'll see more examples of that as the series goes
It's crazy how shocked you are at some details. And it's not your fault but because the movies were so poor they set you up to expect things that just didn't happen in the books.
I will say I find it so funny that people keep comparing this to Harry Potter when in reality it should be the other way around for a lot of it. Because almost all of the Harry Potter books come from Greek and Pegan mythology.
I’m so excited to see you go thru this story as someone who hasn’t read the books! So far the first 2 eps have been quite accurate aside from some minor tweaks :D loving this show so far
I'm glad you're enjoying it so far, it's so much more faithful to the books and it thrives so much! One piece of advice, don't expect a lot of things from the movies to happen in the show, especially the plot of first season, they practically changed the entire plot for the first movie and the journey they take. Also, there is no "Gods are forbidden from interacting with their children" rule by Zeus, that was made up entirely for the movie, and there was a lot more where that came from for the movies when it comes to dumb changes.
Why do you think this is so good. They race swapped two of the main characters which will be in the series for every season. You need to read the books because they are amazing and 10x more entertaining than this stupid show.
If you’re racist just say that. Race is literally not important to these characters at all. The actors are doing amazing as their characters so far! So if you can’t get a grip and get with the program simply over race, you’re just racist.
@@nevaehrose3235 Why doesn´t the change matter? They were extremely loved characters, that people imagined looking certain way. (And were even described in the books.) And let´s not forget, they are literally descendants of GREEK gods. And Annabeth´s mortal side of the family has Norse roots. (Which might not be important now, but it certainly matters for the larger universe. Annabeth being black is more trouble than it´s worth. I doubt there is anyone that went to see this just because they race-swapped a character, but I can guarantee some people dropped the show because of it. Convince me how this isn´t just a poor diversity grab. It´s black Ariel and black Hermione all over again. Most of it (I think) comes down to a knee-jerk reaction of fans being promised a faithful adaptation (after the awful movies), but this big change is staring them right in the face. She might be the best actress for the role, or whatever, but people won´t care if they refuse to watch it from the start. (And just so I piss everyone off, I think the movie had better casting, maybe except for Percy. Grover is bad in both.)
Percy Jackson is Percy Jacksoning and I love it. What do you think about the show so far?

I was just worried she sent him into death 😂 as I didn’t know that he naturally had fighting skills

@@JustLucinda Also (not mentioned in the show) she was planning to step in to help him, but didn't need to.

I mean I think they compare the two because HP came out first. And they both center a young male main character with dark hair.
I’m so excited to see you go thru this story as someone who hasn’t read the books!

Plot-wise this series is going to be So much better than the movies!
Yeah the Fades to black confuse me too. The pacing is sometimes a bit weird. But I am in love with that show

14:07 That's dryad. Tree spirits.
Great Video I Haven’t Seen This Show Yet But I Looks Really Good Also Have A Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
One thing I have to say is forget the movies exist
Kronos is talking to Percy
That's a spoiler 😅
You sure that's not Hades?
The only thing i hate about is they skip the part where he go to the oracle and get the prophecy
They didn’t skip it. The oracle is going to take place in the next episode
It's in the next episode
Where do I know you from

This show is a basically perfect adaptation and most fans say the same. All actors are portraying the characters wonderfully!
