That Canyon leather is supposed to be like a waxed flesh. Although it’s not really, I haven’t got to handle them, but they’re likely a waxed nubuck that was left shaggy and not as corrected. That Arizona Adobe is nubuck too, used to have those, my terracotta are nubuck too, so is their black, it’s how they achieve the matte appearance. Yes, those are leather midsoles, some models are EVA and some are leather, both of those are. The leather feels better underfoot imo, a few models come with them, R&R and the regular line. You’ve got to look super close in the pictures, then ask when purchasing. Back when they were doing the Nirvana last (before the Kingmaker) the R&R switched to EVA, but now they’re leather again. I know literally everything about those boots. Good starter boot, I started w a bunch of Thursdays, now I wear Viberg, Sagara, etc.

The Canyon’s you have are the true last not Rt3, Rt3 are more wider and rounder toe box.

Probably just an error. Those Canyon’s for sure are true last. I know this because i have a pair on the Rt3 last. If i was you i wouldn’t send those Canyons back because everyone loved that slimmer almond toe box, but the King Maker Last is definitely the best last because it gives you enough room for your toes to be free.

Those def aren’t an RT3, but idk if they were still running the True when they started channeling the outsoles, and those ARE channeled. The RT3 is noticeably rounder, they should’ve done something with that last.
I think using the RT3, unlined shaft, 270 flat welt, soft toe, leather or no midsole, materials they already have (beside a thicker upper from Lefarc to be able to go unlined) would make the Vanguard line relevant. They could bump the price up to the $300’s and it would create a similar effect to their starter campaign. Because as things stand, when talking American made heritage boots - Vanguard isn’t part of the conversation, but they very well could be. A lot of us have a soft spot for the brand, and it would give us a welcomed reason to return to it long after we’ve graduated to higher tiers. @thusdayboots
How are Thursday boots in the instep dept. Like are they high volume or can they be for people with low instep feet?
I have a bit of a high instep and I find them comfortable. My son also has a pair of captains (stormking), his instep is average and he said they are very comfortable.
