What a dramatic difference with the Lavender/Orchid background! In the past I had only used blue, black, & white. Can’t wait to give it a try. I’m sure it will not come out nearly as the one did, but gotta give it a try!
Hello from Laughlin, NV .... So happy things went well with the auction Sherri .... I must say, you were a pro with the plastic wrap today! Beautiful colors!! Thanks for the mixing tips. Welcome back.
Anita Mitchell Yeah, I didn’t wrestle with the plastic wrap. Or cuss it out lol My camera light kept messing with the colors though. Well, thank you very much Anita
It's so nice to meet you Kathy I'm sure you will really like it in Idaho. Probably not so much rain I would think. I've only driven through there once. Great to hear from you, thank you.
It sure looks like a turkey tray doesn’t it LOL it’s just some kind a plastic tray I pulled out of the dumpster and then I bought one of those wire racks. Thank you 😊
I'm thinking I could paint a wooden cross on a canvas, then once it dried, I could copy your layout, and make the flowers Lay on top of the cross. That would look awesome. Hang it on my wall of crosses, here in my studio. IDK Maybe. I need to be varnishing some of the stuff I have painted. They are backing up with a quickness. Maybe 60 or 70 of them.
Carolyn Byrd I know the feeling of having that many. I used to paint at least twice a day and wow did they ever add up. Ever since I started doing other things crafty it has slowed the paintings down a little bit. Anyway I think that is an awesome and beautiful idea of what you’re thinking of doing. Wouldn’t that be just beautiful? I will varnish everything except for the ones I don’t like at all. Those I usually paint over. But I’ll varnish them all and then try to sell them somehow and those I don’t sell I donate to the VA hospital or our retirement home in my area. Take care Carolyn.♥️
I like to use them because it helps keep your fingers off the sides from being smudged. I also used to drop my canvases all the time LOL it helps to keep a hold on them. I use a staple gun. They twist off very easy because they get wet from the paint. But I like your thought Using a tiny bit of hot glue. I bet that would work just as good because the canvases are really not that heavy. Sometimes I keep the depressors on there and wait for to dry and sometimes I just twist them off before I lay them down to dry. It really doesn’t matter. Thank you Leonard😊
Love ur laugh!! What did you have attached to the back that your weed holding the canvas with. And I need a set up like that. I use puppy pads and it takes a lot
kittyb1974 I attach my stirring sticks. Lol I just break them in half and staple gun them one time to the back of the wood. They snap right off with the twist. Thank you Kitty
Anzy Faubion I had someone give me a thumbs down a while back ago of my 7 year old Granddaughter doing a painting lol I couldn’t believe it because she was so cute. But you know what the haters will be haters regardless. Lol Thanks so much for commenting. So nice of you!
I just take my steering sticks and I break them in half and staple gun them to the back of the wood one time. Once I lay my painting down to dry I give them a Twist and they come right off because they are wet from the paint. Thanks Cricket
Victoria Russell I’m sorry I just now seeing this comment. RUclips does not notify us of all of our comments. This is a drip pan that I found at a local store dumpster. It was a display shelf. But I haven’t heard of many people buying the wash machine drip pans. I will give you the link for that on Amazon. And then I just use a rack and place it in there. I cleaned it out weekly with a very strong scraper. I use two parts floetrol 1 part paint Then just a little water to thin it down to a warm pancake syrup consistency. That’s it. Thank you Victoria www.amazon.com/Camco-Stackable-Fitting-Collects-Damage-White-21006/dp/B07ZPHZVDC They have other ones that are a little more expensive with a flat surface on the bottom. So you could always lay a plastic bag in there to to catch the paint so you don’t have to clean it.
Beth Nolan No it just draws up some of the paint that’s laying in the middle of the flower and pulls it together and makes it look more like the flower. You only want to do it a couple times to remove a little bit of the paint. Thank you very much Beth
Hi Gloria Those are my stirring sticks. I just break them in half and I staple gun them one time to the back of the wood. Then when I lay my painting down to dry I just give them a Twist and they come right off because they are wet from the paint.
Question: I’m new to this craft and noticed on you canvas you have what looks like a portion of a tongue depressor glued under 2 sides. Do you glue them or tape them, if glue how do you get them off!
Judy Ortmeier I just use a staple gun. I break them in half and staple gun them one time. They twist right off when you lay them down because they are wet from the paint. Or you can just wait until they’re dry and snapped them off. Tried the tape and that didn’t seem to work too well LOL thanks Judy
Marilyn Hamilton You know, you can just go for it wherever you want. I just start in the center and then work my way outward a little. But there’s so many different ways you can lay down your paint and still get an amazing dip. I’ve seen so many people do so many different things. So just go for it and experiment. You’d be surprised what you can create.👍

It's nice to see artist using colors other than white for their base. What are you using to set your canvas on? Is that some sort of turkey tray?
It sure looks like a turkey tray doesn’t it LOL it’s just some kind a plastic tray I pulled out of the dumpster and then I bought one of those wire racks.
Thank you 😊

Very cool! Curious do you do a tiny bit of hot glue to make your tilting tongue depressor tabs? Very clever! Txz jeanne
I like to use them because it helps keep your fingers off the sides from being smudged.
I also used to drop my canvases all the time LOL it helps to keep a hold on them.
I use a staple gun.

You do amazing work, but I wanna know how do you attach the sticks? Do u have a tutorial on how you attach them?

Sherri's Life Thank you 🙏🏽
Sherri, what are you using for your rack and drip pan? It looks very sturdy. What are the measurements?

Thank for your response concerning the tongue depressors!
Judy Ortmeier my pleasure 👍
How did you get the cells? Did you use silicone?
No, no silicon
It’s just getting your paints all at the same consistency.
Using floetrol as your medium also helps.
Thanks Debby
Beautiful! I keep trying but none have turned out very well yet. Why do you keep dabbing the middle of the painting with your finger? Bubbles?
Beth Nolan No it just draws up some of the paint that’s laying in the middle of the flower and pulls it together and makes it look more like the flower. You only want to do it a couple times to remove a little bit of the paint. Thank you very much Beth
Sweetie when you're tilting your canvas what are you holding on to go to look like popsicle sticks
Hi Gloria

Hi I hope that you see this message. I was just wondering how do you work out where to place the paint before you start a picture?
Wow thats amazing from a set of dots to the finish
I'm going to give this a go
