We just went through a year long deployment. It was the hardest year of my life but I learned a lot. Taking care of four children alone made me appreciate my husband even more♥️

Being a woman is hard hard work !! I often think about Our Mother Mary . She was a young unmarried girl when she became pregnant , I’m sure she worried if Joseph would accept her . She gave birth in a stable! She lost Jesus , her child, for 3 full days when he was 12 …. The heartache and trauma of that ! She was widowed while relatively young, and then she watched her perfect Son tortured and crucified ( what a terrible ordeal to have to witness and be helpless ). I feel she she had to experience so much heartache despite being the Mother of God !! Thank God you made it through your tough journey , but its hard being a woman 😂😂 but its good too .

I think I heard somewhere that Satan hates the consecration part of the Mass so much that people become distracted and babies cry during that time. Don’t be discouraged- you are a wonderful mother ❤

I'm sorry you went through that, Heather. I was a military wife & my first husband (now deceased) was deployed in Saudi Arabia. Our daughter was two at the time. I can't imagine going through that with five littles. You're very strong & those children are blessed to have you as their mom.

Before I had my only son I had two breakdowns which made me very fragile and weak in many ways. Before the breakdowns I was very independent and could do anything I wanted to do. After the breakdowns I found it extremely difficult to function in every way. Therefore deciding to have my child was very brave but very scary. However, I really believe that God gave me the supernatural strength to look after my child. I'm absolutely amazed I got through it. God is amazing!!! God has shown me so much about myself through the struggles I've had.
    God bless you all.

Glad to hear your husband is home. I was a military chaplain's wife for 30 years and went through many years of deployments, 2 boots on the ground combat tours and several years where he was only able to commute home on the weekends! Our daughter was young while he was in undergraduate school and seminary which was 7 straight years of full time school and from 3rd grade on, he was active duty! We were a family always under duress and so I really related to your share today! And of course now our daughter is married to a military man and they (including our 2 grandchildren) haven't lived in the continental United States for eight years until this month! They've finally been stationed on the same continent as us! : ) I found your blog because although I am not Catholic, I do love praying the rosary as part of my personal devotion time. As members of the military chaplaincy, we've been blessed to know several wonderful Priests as personal friends and we found a great deal of comfort in "crossing over" between faiths. As clergy members, it gave us a small piece of "spiritual privacy" to do this. I'm glad to hear that you're doing better. Don't be too hard on yourself. We all face difficult times in our lives and with God's help, we grow and develop into the plan He has for us! God Bless!

Hey Heather, thanks for the new video. I'm sorry you had such a hard year. I can't imagine being away from my husband for a year with five children. You're a very strong woman. I was watching some of your videos and finding myself envious of your family. Because I just lost my first baby in miscarriage and my dream is to be a mother. But, I never know how difficult things can be behind the scenes. I feel really broken right now too. I will pray for your healing.

In our marriage we went through three year long deployments and several 6 month deployments. The last one was during Covid so I was homebound with 6 little ones. Every year was harder but every year I grew and found things out about myself and in the end our marriage got stronger and our kids became more self resilient.

Hello Heather... I know how it feels to do it alone. My situation is different from yours, though. I have been raising my five children alone for the last ten years. My husband chose not to be an active father... So being a mom and dad all at the same time is not easy. God bless you for your fortitude.

I am expecting our third and I feel so overwhelmed. I am so much more emotional and so angry and feel like I will be a failure with more children. My husband and I have a lot of healing to do from our relationship.

Oh, I'm so very sorry for how hard that last half of the year was for you. My son was deployed for almost a year between 2022-2023; it was tough, especially going weeks without speaking to him. I cannot imagine if it had been my husband and I had young kids at home. I did have to be an "almost single mother" for about 4 years when my husband worked full time and went to nursing school. We rarely saw him and it was hard to keep me, the house, and the kids going every day. God bless you, Heather. And God works his graces in such wonderful, hard, and interesting ways. You were only being broken to be put back together even stronger in the long run and to know the depth of how much you can rely on Him. 💗💗

Heather, I am so sorry that you had to have such a long absence from your husband. My husband is with the Air Force and is away for a few months. It is SO incredibly hard. We have two toddlers and I am pregnant with twins. I was crying along right there with you for the first half of the video. I can relate to how you were feeling on a deep level and I am in the thick of it right now. I'm so glad it's over and that he is home now. Please pray that my husband returns home safe and that God will provide the graces I need to get through. Thank you for sharing this. Even though it is so hard to see others struggle through this, it brings so much comfort to know that I am not alone, and that if you can do it, I can do it. We are in it together, us moms.

Thanks for sharing! I was a single mom of two kids and I know that it’s nothing like having five. However, I often felt alone, depleted and sad. Later on when I went to confession about something., after I remarried, I told a priest, my story about what happened and he wanted me to pray for single moms, widows and just women who are lonely. We need to pay for them because they have a hard time. So this is a good awareness because sometimes when you come out of the darkness, you forget about it; you don’t want to dwell on it. However, you want to be able to help others maybe you having a similar issue. So I’m sure that you are helping some people feel some hope.

Yes it can be lonely without your husband...then again it can be lonely with your husband, especially if they don't stay faithful, which I experienced many times over the years. I prayed, and Mass weekly. I tried for 20 yrs... to the point it made me ill.
I didn't want to be Divorced, however I ended up getting Divorce... I'm not sure I will be able to get an annulment, after yrs together, and 4 children, now grown up. I am alot happier now, and I am with a lovely man, who is very respectful and caring and loving. ☺️

I’m so sorry you had such a trying year. It’s crazy but I picked up on the fact your husband wasn’t there around Easter time… you were in the van and forgot there wasn’t a Friday Lenten meal at church so you went to Taco Bell and the kids all seemed so happy and content! I’ve been a single mom and your face reminded me of me during those hard times. So glad hubby is reunited with the family! And so glad you had a wonderful summer! Love your new puppy! ❤

Wish I could hug you.... sometimes those things that break us seems to always be just under the surface when we remember them... and that becomes a cross we carry... thank you God he is home and hopefully new moments can fill those dark places with light once again.

I was married for thirty years and my husband never helped. In fact he would tell the children not to help me because it was my job. Even though I worked many times to make ends meet. I don't know what it is to have help. You are very blessed.

I'm balling like a baby watching your kids being surprised with the new dog. They are so sweet! The simple joy of children is so beautiful. Especially knowing what they went through. Our family has gone through the same. The hardest part is all the little hard moments you go through together that no one else really understands unless they have lived it. Especially when it's been so long that you start thinking how life would go if it stayed that way. My heart feels for you. But so worth all the graces and moments that happen when they return! Blessings to your beautiful family 🤍

I just want to give you a hug. God puts people and circumstances in our way to grow us. You are a blessing to your family and us. Dogs are blessings to us. Their lives are shorter than ours, but they teach us so much about responsibility and love.

Thank you for sharing your vulnerability, it gives me hope and comfort as a single mother. Most of the time I feel alone and go through a lot of struggle keeping it all together. My faith slips and I feel guilty not being strong-willed enough. I don’t usually go to RUclips so this truly is a special message I needed to hear at a time of great need, thank you ❤

Heather, I greet you from Mexico. Out of curiosity I would like to know if you have a spiritual director to guide you for your videos production, or if you just guide you through your praying.
Blessings and thank you for your work.

It’s really inspiring to see how you’ve pulled through a difficult season of life. Even more inspiring to see how you’ve used that difficulty to learn more about yourself and tailor your next season to focus on healing. I’m currently in the thick of my difficult season..looking forward to finding the lesson and practicing the patience and faith.

I'm sorry you had to go through such a difficult time :( I grew up with a single mother, so I know it is very difficult. We also have a springer spaniel! Spaniels are the most loving breed!! Also, I just went through something incredibly difficult too this past summer. I'm still healing from it, and during this time, I have felt myself slipping away from God's grace. I always look forward to your videos/watch past videos to help me stay motivated and closer to God. I have been getting better, but not entirely... I still need more time for healing.Thank you so much for giving your time to us. I'm excited to see the new heart healing content you put out and pray that it heals me further. Thank you again. Much love and God bless.

I thought of Queen Victoria and her favorite dog ever named Dash. Emily Blunt and Jenna Coleman both played the role of Queen Victoria in younger years, so the dog appeared respectively in both versions. I'm different because I grew up with Pugs!
