Very comprehensive video, just managed to cook up a very basic website which will be the foundations I will build upon. Thank you for this video, it's extremely helpful and easy to follow along. Gained yourself a subscriber!
Thank you so much! Means a lot to me to hear feedback like yours 😊 Glad you could build a foundation to build upon for yourself!
Thank you! This helped a lot
Thank you your explain is perfect !!!
Nice work. Thanks. I got referred over from your previous video. I will use this tutorial to build my photosite.
Thanks! Glad you found the updated video :-) Good luck!
Gut gemacht Philipp, very helpful!
Thank you! ☺️
Very Informative! Thank you!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching 😊
thank you
Thanks a lot, is it possible to have a portfolio cover on the home page, which would lead to a pictures gallery ? Instead of having all the pictures directly on the home page ? Don't know if that makes sense
Hi Philipp, again good tutorial - thank you. Question: I've noticed a light grey background in visual portfolio. My pictures have a white border and as I do want the gap between the images the light grey shines through the white of the border. I've tried several wordpress thems (astra, neve etc) but the light grey seems to be in the visual portfolio plugin. Do you have any idea how to change that to transparent or white?
Any idea to a solution, Philipp? Is the grey grid fixed or can it be changed?
For people who are confused as well: the preview shows a grey grid. Only after publishing the grid turns in the desired colour.
What do you think of square space? Looking for a site for my travel RUclips page and photography. Heard it’s not very quick. Needs to have ability to blog and ad Google Adsense
I personally have not worked on the Squarespace system before but I've heard a lot of good stuff about it. Just give it a shot I would say :-) Just be aware that with platforms like squarespace or wix theres barely any possibility to migrate your site anywhere else if you don't want to stay there.
I have already paid the wordpress site on personal plan..how can i install the plag in since its asking me to upgrade the plan?
You just showed how to create the frontpage of your portfolio, but how to get in the projects, so individual portfolio pages, into one overview page, where you could click to get to the separate project page?
Amazing video mate. Only issue - the visual portfolio plugin you are using, most of the features for fine tuning your layout are paid features now. Is there a free version I am missing? I have installed the same one as you are using
Thanks mate! I'm not sure I haven't checked the plugin in a while - but of course it's possible that they charge money for most features now :-/
@@PhilippKosicki yeah i guess it has changed recently. One other thing, I wonder if you know anything about. I was using bitnami to run wordpress for this, but then it locked me out for no reason saying something about no SQL... any ideas? No worries if not! :)
hey man, I didn't get it for the photos portfolio .. I can't add any blocks into my page
can you explain it better please for me?
hey man, sorry to hear that! Is it possible that you have other plugins or pagebuilders installed on your website? In this tutorial I use the standard Gutenberg editor to insert the blocks. Feel free to send me a mail if you need detailed help! phil@philippkosicki.com 🙂
I followed the exact steps that you show here with the 2021 theme but when I go to add the new page after installing the Visual Portfolio plugin, the font is slightly different than what's in your video and there's no black line beneath. Something I'm doing wrong?
Can you add the title (3:30) and the tiles (10:58) though? If not then there might be a different version of the WordPress editor installed. If you want send me a screenshot what the page looks like for you to phil@philippkosicki.com and I will try to find out more!
@@PhilippKosicki Yes, I can do both of those things. Is there a way to change the font or font color?
It is not free anymore unfortunately
FREE?
In 10 minutes the vid is 18 long hmmm
You need to make yourself a script before you make a video
