As a very seasoned 65 yr old jazz/jazz fusion player myself I am really grateful to you that demonstrate all your guitars in clean mode. Distortion clouds the emotive quality of the instrument. You are absolutely correct in your estimation, unless it sounds good clean or even UNPLUGGED, which is how I measure the resonant worth, then it's not gonna sound good with any effect. LOVE your videos Jonathan!
Very nice touch on the intro Jon, i don’t think people realise how difficult it is to be as nuanced, accurate and controlled as you are. Also they wouldn’t bother with split coils if they only wanted this guitar shredded. I really love this colour. And I love the gorgeous tones. How do you bear the temptation and actually give these back😂. Excellent once again thanks ❤️👍👍
Nice review. You are the only reviewer I've found who shows that this guitar is capable of clean sounds. The look is great, your opinion on the pickups overall, however, is not a ringing endorsement but I'm still considering it. I'm trying to compare it to a Fender Custom FMT HH and a Pro II Deluxe, which of course is a bit more expensive. I have an old school Schecter Green Classic C-1 with Duncan pickups (JB, Jazz) that I have always liked. Thanks again.
I agree with you about hearing a guitar clean. I dont like videos of a guitar and all you hear is shred. Those people just make noise and really cant play. You and shane from Australia are two of the best in making videos for us, and your intro jam is magnificent, I wanted a brandy and a fine cigar, I would buy an instrumental album from you anytime.
Absolutely. How can you hear the sustain etc when nobody uses space in their demos lol. I commented on another video saying i wanted to hear clean tones and they replied "they handle them fine"..... Not exactly the best demo as somebody who almost exclusively plays clean tones (maybe a little overdrive). Jonathan does it best in my opinion, no disrespect to anyone else!
So well done....I just found out about this model and here I am hearing your review.....definitely going to pull the plug on it...thanks for the amazing review...I always enjoy your channel.
Outstanding review, I got lost in how expressive your playing was and forgot why I came here. All the other reviews were colouring up the sound of the guitar too much, with your method I can tell what this will sound like through my gear. I knew Schecter’s pickups still had it. Thank you sir.
Beautiful playing, as usual! I agree testing a guitar clean. Same as testing a new brand of bourbon straight, before mixing it and making the true taste! 👏🤘Thank you!
Have the purple version of this and I still can't believe how much I paid for it for what I got. Pickups are great and versatile and didn't need to be changed out and have a bit of their own thing going which I liked. The big thing though is the feel of the neck and playing this guitar is a dream. It's easily worth far more than what I paid. Fantastic guitar and the coil splitting make this guitar very versatile. Per usual you're playing some tasty licks! 🤟
Totally awesome Jonathan !! The guitar and your excellent playing. I watched three times ! I do love Schecter PT guitars, everyone in their series. I do own the PT Special in the three color sunburst. Fantastic guitar!! Test some more of those great guitars. Thanks brother! MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family!!
I am a little concerned about the Schecter Z pickups in it. As It is better to know the type of magnets and the resistance. Schecter pickups have improved considerably and are much better than a few years ago. Great guitars and very high quality for the money! Thanks so much for the review Johnathan! 👍 stay safe friend!
Schecter realy know how to take a design like the Telecaster, and make a great version of it and in a very attractive colour. The fact that it sounds so good is icing on the cake! Not cheap, but not overpriced compared to Fenders crazy prices. I don't own a Telecaster, but this guitar could be my first. Thanks Jonathan, played to perfection, where do you find your inspiration from?
@@JonIsJustTooLoud The same could be said of ESP and Ibanez, both of them make some models that are suitable for many genres of music. I use my Ibanez Jem and RG's for many types of music.
Jonathan that was a nice sounding tune you did and I do agree that the guitar definitely seems to lean a little more towards shredding than an old head like me would really do. Did like the tone of it though and the pickups I'm still on the fence I really don't know that much about them but I agree with one of the commenters that a better grade pick up in it might make a difference but $1,000 guitar I'm not having to replace the pickups right away. And also I don't know who is doing their branding but definitely the demonic idea is long past and needs to be replaced if they want to sell guitars to people like me who just want a guitar without any weird connotations to it. Again thanks for the review and check that you did make a great guitar does it come with a gig bag, hahaha.
Thank you Carlton! I guess this is one of the few guitars from Schecter that does not have any demonic references...I'm actually liking this guitar..It does have some Tele characteristic to it✌❤
Hi Jonathan, Love your playing with the clean sounds of all your demos, and I watch a lot of them. I also watched your review of the Nick Johnston Schecter and you thought very highly of that. If you had a choice, which would you pick for tones and versatility between the two as they are just £50 difference here in the UK.
Beautiful guitar, you can buy it here in the USA for $900 and at that price I think it’s a good buy . . . .for that price ($900) can you recommend another guitar that would compete with this one
Thank you for this review. are those pickups bright enough to cut through the mix. On some videos they sounded a bit too warm or muffled. so far you made a guitar sound the best out of few videos that are online with it. I listen to it on someone else's channel and it sounded horrible like there was a blanket over the pickups.
Thanks for your awesome reviews! How do you compare this model to the schecter PT special? Can this PT pro twang as much as the PT special? What do you think jonathan?
They're also made in Indonesia. Not necessarily a bad thing in terms of quality, but it's definitely cheaper to build there. And then these manufacturers turn around and sell them for what a decent American made guitar cost a few years ago.
Normally I would say I agree and honestly I normally put in my own pickups/electronics but this model I didn't need too (I have the purple PT Pro). It's really got a cool vibe / flavor / sound to it. I normally run a Duncan JB's in my bridge and 59's (and have coil splitting) in the neck but I left the pups in this one as it's just good.
I play mostly heavy metal , hard rock and some 80s and 90s rock , and I'm thinking to buy a reaper, c-1 exotic or this PT pro , what do you think?? I mean, looking for some versatility.
I read that PT means Pete Townshend !? Is that right ? Anyway beautiful looking top, nice sounding very clear for humbuckers . It seems we see more and more roasted maple neck, very smooth touch . How does this PT compare with your Fusion Pro HH ?
@@gillesgenete9598 In the late 70s early 80s he played Schecter. They were at the time a small operation in Van Nuys California and built high end guitar parts ans assembled guitars for players like Pete Townshend and Mark Knopfler. Google it as something will come up !
The last two guitars you reviewed from Schecter have both been jaw-droppers. Schecter is definitely is making progress on moving beyond just being great Metal guitar makers.
I have been angry at Fender because everything they put out in a tele the last year or so has three saddles on it and you know what that means when it comes to intonation. Then schecter puts out this beautiful guitar with six saddles on it and a roasted Maple neck. 😁

Schecter has been really listening to what people want on a guitar and the quality is definitely there, nice.
If they would only cut back on the dark branding of their guitars...and cater to mainstream players too!🤓✌
Such terrific playing. Really made our morning on the drive to work! Love the guitar.
