I see people saying they’re getting sick of ivantill since it’s popular but they don’t realise that they hit us the most since the unconditional unrequited love is one of the saddest tropes. Mizisua was requited. Sua died knowing she was loved. Ivan died knowing his feelings weren’t reciprocated but he was happy his “god and universe” looked at him one last time. Imo, Till never knew Mizi personally. Their interactions were always kept to a minimum. She was focused on Sua. I do believe that Ivan was just infatuated with Till atfirst out of admiration because of his rebellious nature and bravery but that infatuation evolved to love the more he got closer to Till. Bro is used to smiling for show but he genuinely only smiled with Till….and the last time he ever smiled was infront of Till too. (I’m gonna go cry now) so yeah

And you can finish the whole thing in like half an hour. But the characters and world-building are really well done. And there are soooo many details about the characters hidden in many scenes that you need to watch multiple times to catch.

i think in the face of round 6 people forgot the true horrors of alien stage - that children are being used as entertainment in the first place, that freedom is shown as something they will never be able to grasp (unless youre mizi and hyuna). unpopular opinion(?), but i dont think ivan was actually in love with till, not in the sense that till's presence brought him safety and joy. i think it started off as something small that developed into an infatuation, something that was used to escape everything he was going through - we've seen ivan suffer and perhaps his way of coping was to turn to something so human and pure, so simple that he could forget about his suffering, even just for a moment. turning to like till, romantically, could have just been a way to focus on something else - not the people he grew up die around him, not his friends fighting against him to death via their voices - but something else, something the aliens could never take away from him. one could even say that ivan's infatuation is fuelled by till's disinterest and aggression, as ivan views liking till as more of a challenge to get till to love him back. i think this reasoning can be applied to till liking mizi. it's not real or fake, but moreso induced by the events and people around him. the key difference i think is that till genuinely wants mizi to love him, while ivan's actions are only done to distract himself, to focus on someone else. till's love may arguably be more "real" as he does see mizi's positive traits and small slivers of her true personality. however, both these levels of attachment are unhealthy, i feel, and in the context of the abuse in alien stage, it might not be able to fixed and formed into something healthy. except, that's where mizisua comes in. two bestfriends who fought next to each other, who grew up together, only for this to get taken away. they saw eachother's weaknesses and their love was endless nevertheless. (it also helps that mizi and sua actually, you know, talk to eachother and have conversations that aren't just beating up eachother). the constant "ivan is alive!!!!"s sort of made it seem like ivan's only important characteristic is being in love with till. "he must be alive! he loves till! sure, he technically stalked and assaulted the guy he likes but... it's gay!!! ivan loves till! he died for him." if till was a girl, it would have been so, so different. ivan would have been labelled as a manipulator among other things. ivan is not in love with till. it's an obsession and i don't see why it's such a big ship. i get it as one of those "in another life" AUs, but someone stalking and dying for someone you barely know can be almost as unhealthy as say, killing the brother of the girl you're in love with. it's not love, please and thank you. and, thank you if you got to the end!!!! your time is valuable and i'm glad you spent a few minutes here :)
I think there are people who definitely just enjoying for the yaoi and not the depth of the story, which is fine for them. But from what I've seen in the fandom, we're aware of the horrible world they're in, and how much of an unstable, obsessive creep Ivan really is. But we love it because it's emotional and FICTIONAL, and let us experience the twisted side of these characters in our imagination. We can understand the horrors, and still root for our favorite characters to live. I don't personally post "IVAN IS ALIVE", but I get why fans do it. But thank you for sharing your analysis. It was an enjoyable read!

@@Tamlinsongs I actually listened to the orchestra version first then this came into my recommendations. This rock version is SOOOO GOOD. I've been listening to it on repeat instead of studying 😂😂😂😂 anyways, the translation is impeccable , I mean the way you wrapped it all up in this song because it's hard to sing the translated version of Korean songs with this much accuracy of meaning as well as making it sound very much like the original version . I'm not a music major 😂 i don't know . But I tried to describe my admiration as well as i could . I hope you get desired popularity 💜💝

I feel the same about the direct translations. After watching round 6, i just had the urge to scream this song. But I can’t pronounce Korean and the translation just didn’t fit the melody very well, so I decided to make my own version. It’s quite fun because I don’t normally write this kind of music. My originals are usually thought-provoking or motivational alt & folkrock 😆

@@eruditodeshanghai ahh thank you 🥰🥰 I highly recommend it if you like emotional, angsty story. It’s a series of 3min shorts made by indie artists studio. And you can finish the whole thing in like half an hour. But the characters and world-building are really well done. And there are soooo many details about the characters hidden in many scenes that you need to watch multiple times to catch.

i think in the face of round 6 people forgot the true horrors of alien stage - that children are being used as entertainment in the first place, that freedom is shown as something they will never be able to grasp (unless youre mizi and hyuna).
unpopular opinion(?), but i dont think ivan was actually in love with till, not in the sense that till's presence brought him safety and joy. i think it started off as something small that developed into an infatuation, something that was used to escape everything he was going through - we've seen ivan suffer and perhaps his way of coping was to turn to something so human and pure, so simple that he could forget about his suffering, even just for a moment. turning to like till, romantically, could have just been a way to focus on something else - not the people he grew up die around him, not his friends fighting against him to death via their voices - but something else, something the aliens could never take away from him. one could even say that ivan's infatuation is fuelled by till's disinterest and aggression, as ivan views liking till as more of a challenge to get till to love him back.
i think this reasoning can be applied to till liking mizi. it's not real or fake, but moreso induced by the events and people around him. the key difference i think is that till genuinely wants mizi to love him, while ivan's actions are only done to distract himself, to focus on someone else. till's love may arguably be more "real" as he does see mizi's positive traits and small slivers of her true personality.
however, both these levels of attachment are unhealthy, i feel, and in the context of the abuse in alien stage, it might not be able to fixed and formed into something healthy.
except, that's where mizisua comes in. two bestfriends who fought next to each other, who grew up together, only for this to get taken away. they saw eachother's weaknesses and their love was endless nevertheless. (it also helps that mizi and sua actually, you know, talk to eachother and have conversations that aren't just beating up eachother).
the constant "ivan is alive!!!!"s sort of made it seem like ivan's only important characteristic is being in love with till. "he must be alive! he loves till! sure, he technically stalked and assaulted the guy he likes but... it's gay!!! ivan loves till! he died for him." if till was a girl, it would have been so, so different. ivan would have been labelled as a manipulator among other things.
ivan is not in love with till. it's an obsession and i don't see why it's such a big ship. i get it as one of those "in another life" AUs, but someone stalking and dying for someone you barely know can be almost as unhealthy as say, killing the brother of the girl you're in love with.
it's not love, please and thank you.

I think there are people who definitely just enjoying for the yaoi and not the depth of the story, which is fine for them. But from what I've seen in the fandom, we're aware of the horrible world they're in, and how much of an unstable, obsessive creep Ivan really is. But we love it because it's emotional and FICTIONAL, and let us experience the twisted side of these characters in our imagination. We can understand the horrors, and still root for our favorite characters to live. I don't personally post "IVAN IS ALIVE", but I get why fans do it.

I don't think you sounded aggressive or rude, but really really passionate about Alien Stage and the depth of the story and characters, which I can appreciate 😆 I personally like watching and reading people's long analysis of every fandom I'm in, so i was interested for me! I guess there will always be people who just wanna stan hot characters simply being a yaoi ship without trying to understand further in every fandom. It can't be helped :(
