This is like..... actually getting a look inside Ivan's heart and- ..... feeling all the agony he's felt with maximized impact. Thanks for translating the song. It really helped me understand the real depth of his feelings. The actual song is in korean, so even if it's translated word to word, sometimes the full message isn’t conveyed which leaves a lot of gaps in understanding what's being said. Koreans use a lot of idioms, so even if someone knows the language it’s possible that they don’t fully understand a certain part of a conversation. But the eng ver helped me understand the song. I totally agree with you that Korean version uses a lot of idioms that usually got translated too directly in other English covers I’ve seen, and it lost the emotions those idioms convey. Although, I actually don’t speak Korean at all, so I made a lot of guesses about what the Korean idioms were trying to express, and chose English idioms that has the closest expressions or emotions. Like, there’s a line that directly translates to “your icy lips carve scars beneath my eyes”. And I made that into “your cold words cut like knives on my skin”. I actually have no idea if the Korean version meant something like that. But close enough I guess?? 🤣
