- Official Video for "Crossroads (Live at The Royal Albert Hall, 1991)" from The Definitive 24 Nights.
Order "24 Nights": EC.lnk.to/24Ni...
"The Royal Albert Hall is Eric Clapton’s home away from home in London. Since his debut at the historic venue with the Yardbirds in 1964, Clapton has performed there over 200 times. Eric also holds the record for the longest run of concerts at the venue. He set it in 1990 with 18 shows, then broke it the following year with 24 concerts. They were some of the most ambitious shows of Clapton’s career. Each night featured him performing a career-spanning set with one of three lineups - a rock band, a blues band, or an orchestra conducted by Michael Kamen.
To commemorate that record-setting run, Clapton released 24 NIGHTS in October 1991. The double live album and home video delivered great performances but only covered a fraction of what was filmed and recorded.
All the audio and video from 24 NIGHTS was painstakingly restored and upgraded by Clapton for THE DEFINITIVE 24 NIGHTS, which will be available on limited edition boxed sets as either 6-CDs or 8-LPs on June 23. Both versions come with three Blu-ray discs for the video content, a hardbound book, and an individually numbered lithograph featuring a photograph of Clapton by Carl Studna. Standalone versions of the individual concerts - 24 NIGHTS: ROCK, 24 NIGHTS: BLUES, and 24 Nights: ORCHESTRAL - will be released the same day in 2-CD/DVD and 3-LP (Rock and Orchestral) and 2-LP (Blues) configurations. Each are limited edition versions and available now to order.
Nothing is better than late 80's and early 90's Clapton!
Yep.❤
The Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blindfaith, and Derek and the Dominos from the 60's to early 70's., weren't too shabby either.
@@johntiger51965 to 1971 he would never ever touch that virtouso again
@@Newcastle423 Nothing But The Blues Concert I was at , at Madison Square Garden ,his voice caught up to his blues guitar playing which was 1994. Despite the thinner sound on the Layla album his use of maj and minor keys on blues like Have You Ever Loved a Woman, and Key to the Highway are equally as good. His work on Cream Reunion at Albert Hall on Stormy Monday, Sleepy Time Time, and Crossroads ( despite different) another improvised guitar virtuosity. As is N.S.U. .Sorry don't agree.
@@Newcastle423 You're wrong. He got better and better over the years, especially after quitting drugs and alcohol in the mid-late 80s. I haven't missed a tour since my first one in 74. Last saw him Sept, 2023. I'm going to wear out before he does.
This is my favorite live version of this tune. It's got a great funky bounce and super groove.
Check Delaney and Bonnie version
Same!
If you can’t appreciate Eric’s brilliance and musical perfection you’re not living.
Amen Can't explain it. Got to see/hear it.
that's ridiculous. to some people it's just not interesting. they have other stuff to listen to
@@acidvideothomas8383 No, it's not. Everyone has other stuff they also listen too. A person can have different tastes and still appreciate his brillance and talent. I know people who say they aren't fans but there is still a song or two of his they like a lot.
@@jims5922 i just think saying you're not living is a bit much exaggerated
He brought the name of Robert Johnson to a lot of people..
Beautiful Phil Palmer with absolut stunning guitar solo!
Totally. So much more of an inventive solo than Claptons. Tasty notes and phrasing.
@@wattage2007 Yeahhh he is an amazing session guitarist
Do you see that guitar smoke? Goes to show how everyone is having a great time!
He’s one of the greatest guitarists ever!
It’s depressing that I’ll never be even 10% as good at anything in my life as Clapton is on the guitar.
Sure you can. I have faith in you.
Not with that attitude! Do what Eric done-practice like hell (is my guess). Same as His royal Highness, king of guitar and a sharp dresser. The coolest cat to walk the earth, Sir James Marshall 'Jimi' Hendrix, then Mr James 'I was selected as the greatest guitarist in the history of rock music has been selected as the greatest guitarist in the history of rock music Page, SRV, BB King and the Queen of guitar, Her royal holiness Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Practicing is how you get good, and a change of attitude might help brother/sister or whatever pronouns you use. Talent may be a factor lol.
‘“God”..no question..50 years of majestic and spectacular art..
Shows all of his legacy . . . Thank you
90s tone and phrasing that is his renaissance
Absolutely love the arrangement of Crossroads on 24 Nights. Would love to see EC with Greg Phillinganes again, he's got great energy.
A Real Treat … a long interview with Clapton just before the Jeff Beck Memorial with David Spuria, The Real Music Observer. This is up close and personal from his kitchen. WOW!!!
RUclips
Crossroads has a different energy to itself. The way he plays solo before this video starts(that part isn’t in this video but you can find it on YT) and then plays this, is just mesmerizing for me. Them authoritative solos and his crying vocals are obviously the deal sealers.
True that.
@SophieBelleClapton Booooo
Eric never ceases to amaze me. What a band, what a groove...words fail me.
this guy is great, i wonder what the stuff he does in his shows is about, its completely alien to me! normal music???
Everybody passed me by. His music is unbelievable. Thank you Mr. Johnson.
A hundred years ahead of his time was Mr Johnson
I would have sold my soul to the devil too to play the blues like that.
I like the live version from the Fillmore concert 1968. Blew me away!!
SO awesome how Eric has always loved sharing the spotlight with other musicians and even those backing him up. He's the most least insecure player maybe to ever live.
And the second soloist definitely would make most players insecure.
Hell I thought his tone was much better than Clapton’s , but he wasn’t using those dog shit lace sensor pickups, and he cut through the mix better even at lower volume and had a stronger , much more authentic strat tone. It’s easy to see why those lace sensor pickups became extinct.
@@bigtsshackfestival9563 I actually think they initially rebranded them as "Noiseless" first didn't they? I was thinking Buddy Guy used them to for a while. Maybe I'm mistaken about that though.
@@bigtsshackfestival9563take
Take a better look his guitar also has lace sensors no polepieces and not emg’s don’t know why people complain about them Clapton Jeff Beck and Buddy Guy used them for years
Yea the least amount of yrs they used any thing else. Now everyone knows they suck balls
Eric Clapton... what else is there to say... 🎶🎸❤️🎶
SRV.
@@farshimelt There's always a dork to be found in the comment sections. This time, you've received the honor of being a mighty one.
Clapton at the beginning of the 90's was God at the peak of his powers 🔥
@pablobruno1503 -- Must be the age difference. I thought his peak was in the 1960's with The Yardbirds and Cream.
@sheldonaubut in my opinion eric greatness plays was wit john Mayall until derek, i think yardbirds he is just approaching your technique, but the old Clapton stills impeccable
He sucked tone was horrible he was repetitive asf should’ve retired after Derek&dominions
Still TOP GUN!!!
@@guenther2308 you have tk be kidding how he sucks just because he has a household name doesn’t make him the best guitar player he’s a beginner lever
one of the best.....thx Sir Eric for this good music for over 50 years^^let the blues begin
This is thrilling
Cookin'! Love those early Clapton model Stratocasters.
Same. That whole rig with the SLOs was awesome (complex though!).
That particular black Strat with the Mike Stevens flamed neck (previously fitted to the pewter Strat) was great. Minimal/thin body paint so it looked old from new, super-glue finished neck for the feel/worn look quite quickly in its life (fingerboard turns grey in the well played areas).
Also Phil Palmer is playing a Clapton signature model that Clapton himself have him, probably the testing model painting in 7-up green
@@CompleteCretin It was quite spectacular! I wanted one of those very first models something awful, but was raising two young kids and the dough was really scarce! Thanks for your fine reply!
I believe that somewhere in the world, there are people who feel the same emotions that I feel when I listen to masterpieces like this song.
Iam one of those people.
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU, AND HOPE YOU’LL ENJOY ALL. DOC MAGOO PJ VIETNAM JEFF Z.
I feel it as well. Clapton got better when he aged, his solos mainly emotional, gets you feeling 'it'. I love music, I feel it deep down, moves me. Jimi Hendrix's live Hey Joe solo's get me right in the feel's. Can you imagine if he survived, as he aged his music would be, probably, amazing. Just like his friend, Eric.
Man, I do indeed
Wow it's my best crossroads version.
Wheels of Fire Cream's version there will never ever be another...right Eric? Took me a long time to play your licks...
CLAP TON IS GOD
I’m 30 years old but I like him style Eric
Thailand fc
My favorite Era of Clapton
Thank you Eric! Waited for the definitive 24 Nights for 30 years!
Presentation is important. I enjoy this version so much from seeing Nathan East and Greg dancing to the song
And also. I like how Eric Clapton who is an introvert picks out extroverts to play in his band lol
loved thus performance, but man does he look f'd up!
The background singers blew me away....lov ethem both. great voices and so attractive....
Man I was thinking the same thing.
That other fella in the purple coat ripped it up .
Thank you so much for your music Eric 🙂.
As it always brings a big smile to this old face of mine.
My guy has been the best guitarist since John Mayall and the Blues Breakers, highly underrated, the literal king of feel, his singing is just as good as his playing, go listen to Derek and The Dominos, watch him play further on up the road with the band, The Clap! Eric Clapton!
Steve Feronne, my drums hero! Clapton is God!
Bit of a party animal too haha. Phil Palmer speaks very highly of Steve for taking him under his wing when he joined the band.
@@CompleteCretin Bro, Steve played with Tom Petty in so many years. Maybe his style is too heavy, but he is more accurate than metronome.
Nathan East did something on the bass from about 4:34 to 4:38 that cannot be described in human words. It was the most bone-chilling and organic little bass riff I’ve ever heard. He’s the most melodic bass player in history.
Such a great show!
How is no one commenting about the 5 seconds of pure bliss of our boy Greg at 3:50 😂
ENGLAND! thank you.
Adoro questa versione di.Crossroads, cosi blues!
Clapton is god...
That's absurd. Clapton took 2 and 4 bars phrases from every blues player he ever listened to and wove them into his solos. God started from nothing.
❤
Great blues jam.
I know this is old song, but it never be.
Thanks again. Love this!
Eric Clapton благодарю за исполнение.
I bought all three variations of the concerts and they are superb.
Wonderful
Muy buena imagen con el pelo largo. God bless you!
Great..Eric is best..love you..👍👍👍💙💙💙💙💙
2:47 Phil Palmer kicks major!
Great!!! Super sempre meraviglioso Eric Clapton fuori classe
Fuori classe e riduttivo 😂
Inimitabile, ti piace di più??
@@ireneki4612 direi di sì 🤗🤗
Grew up on the version done by Cream that version is still my favorite. Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce and Eric Clapton
More please!❤
❤Awesome ❤
Clapton made me want to start to practice playing guitar…You want to be able to understand this divine energy. Made that guitar speak all the language ever existed
Si il n'était pas là il n'y aurait rien le néant, grasse à dieu merci bon dieu dieu merci il est là et la lumière fut
Great!!!!
Sir E. C. Never lost the magic in his song writing nor his guitar virtuoso . ✨🎸☮️✨
OMG!!! EVERYBODY IS GROOVIN ON THIS ONE!! I saw him twice on this tour. But THIS-at the Royal Albert Hall- he KILLED IT. As the spokesperson for The RAH said "Eric doesn't play the Royal Albert Hall...He IS The Royal Albert Hall!"
🎸❤🎸❤🎸💯✨️
Eric the rollsroys of his guitar😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Creative Name 😅
My mans on the key board is that slick MF, my guy is stylin and profilin back there.
I could watch Steve Ferrone play all day...
Only Clapton knows how to take a great song and make it better!!!!!
👏💐💃🕺 Super 💃🕺Rhythms I love 💐👏 thank you 💐💃
Clapton is amazing!❤
Eric Clapton, will always be Eric Clapton, the cat with the green Strat, well, he's one bad cat 🐈
Exactly HAHA I wonder what his name is
Great solo phil palmer
I absolutely love this concert, past tense too. I listened to the whole thing on radio. Bought the double disc in like 2006. May consider going for the orchestral night CD and dvd. Nathan East looks so young here. Ameet
Never heard this version until today. Love it 😍
It’s like a dream that i dont want to be over, my dad blasted Eric and then Jefferson airplane every time leaving a holiday party
Love ❤❤❤
I'll take him home ANYDAY! Can't get enough of great music❤
Me parece excelente 🌹 👌
Lo mejor de lo mejor 👌
Un gran grupo

Muchas felicidades ❤ 🌹 👏
So cool to see the different periods of playing. It’s all great.
WOW Eric's wig is outstanding - no glue, no bald heading showing - Hey Eric you have a real pro wig job!!
Un GRAZIE lungo tutta la vita, ERIC ! 💙💙💙
Never wanted a green strat till i saw Phil Palmer drop that sick solo.
Love it
One of the best of all time...one of my fav for sure....
Excellent!! But I still think his solo of this song in 1968 is considerably better than this. Just one man’s opinion.
Un monstruos total genio
your guitar play the most i like thank u
Fantástico 💖👏🎶🎸👍
Sempre bravissimo...ora ed allora 👏👏👏
Sir Eric Clapton is guitar god!!!
I still like creams super fast version but when jack Bruce is on bass and ginger bakers drumming r.i.p.2 both of them Eric could do whatever he wanted and when he came back they where right there.
1分26开始 我真的我很爱!不会选戒指的吉他手我称之为不称职!这个戒指好美!那位跳舞的 我也不知道是不是穿越了 就这样吧!莫名其妙!
very cool song I like 👍
Es el mostruos un grande de los 5 mejores
Pretty hard to beat/or better the 1968 Wheels of Fire - LIVE version.... that set The Standard!!! I STILL LOVE listening to that version today 50+ years later..... This is OK But Clapton's best other/or Back-Up guitarist was Albert Lee.......IMHO.....
goat
Would love to see Eric do this with Jimmie Vaughan!
Best version of this is with cream by far nothing comes close ‼️‼️🥴
Yeah, this is a little too slick.
Que par de guitarristas!!!!!
BEST CROOSROADS......I EVER LİSTEN
You have lotus of fun in turkey
We love you....thank you for your
Music...since 1970....and forever ...
Love it.
best groove ever, thats woo hoo ist fun what else😂
And people say Clapton is overrated. lol
He doesn't get the respect he deserves and how he has touched so many lives through his lifes lessons he has selflessy shared with the world through his music and paying it forward with Crossroads Antigua. I love God first and Eric Clapton second both have been part of my story.❤Forever Fan ♥

Unbelievable, but it's true....the best....for over 50 years
They also say people are crazy. Started listening to EC in the 60’s and here I am in 2024 still rockin with Slowhand.
Huge music E.Clapton
