Sam Cooke was a genius. He was just starting to really write lots of great songs when he died. Sam was way more talented than Elvis. Marty Robbins was also a genius. I think they are the two most underrated singer/songwriters of all time.

Allen Klein was notorious in music/media circles for being a shady ass character. He knew nothing of music, or even the _business_ of music, he just had a law_(really?)_ degree that helped him swindle plenty of artists, and _generations_ of those artists rightful heirs, out of their just due. _His_ family's doin' fine, tho. No it isn’t, its actually the other way around, not a rip off but I would call it an inspiration for Ray to use the chords. If you are not familiar with Sam Cooke or his work stop commenting like this, Sam Cooke was a soul music pioneer.
@@bodoor8172Actually, it’s a little more complicated than that. Ray Charles’ “I Got A Woman” was released in 1954, about 10 years earlier than this song. BOTH songs are probably copied from/inspired by “It Must Be Jesus” by The Southern Tones, which also dates to 1954. Both Ray Charles and Sam Cooke combined secularized gospel music with jazz and R&B to create soul music.
