I regret that I only got to see Jimi twice before he died. Such a loss. And yes, he did play his guitar with his teeth/tongue and behind his head and back. ☮️✌️
Brian May actually talks about how he thinks Jimi Hendrix was a superhuman, and he was greatly influenced and inspired by Jimi, and is to this day still learns from his music. Jimi was definitely a pioneer and most of the great guitarists since have credited him with being a great influence on their work.
I got guitar lessons for my 12th birthday. Had a horrible student scale acoustic and the teacher was making me play Camp Town Races. Was just about to give up when I heard Are You Experienced, the JHE's 1st album. Mind blown I begged my Dad for an electric and an amp, and he came through. I was 14. I'm now 65 and still play guitar, bass, and had music in my life for my entire life - all thanks to Jimi Hendrix. I have personal fondness and gratitude for him but you can realistically multiply that by a generation and get of sense of his influence. RIP Jimi. Thanks for the reaction, made me reflect. ✌
Jimi was a southpaw, if you notice, he is playing a right-handed guitar upside down - he couldn't afford an expensive, rare left handed one, so he improvised! If you get the chance, check out his version of The Star Spangled Banner. It was at Woodstock, and as they were running late, he didn't appear until about 9 am on the Monday morning, so the crowd were all a bit subdued by then. It was also at the height of the Vietnam 'conflict' and his rendition encompasses his feelings, as a vet. Although I'm a Brit, it moved me deeply at the time. I loved Jimi and had the privilege of seeing him live twice.
Great review! What you should realize is that most people will stay to the end because they are interested in your commentary. After the song is played, you can talk for an hour and your audience will be there until the end. We are very interested, not moderately interested in your review. All reviewers should know that these songs make you like candy to us, and we can't get enough. Jimi Hendrix was 26 years old, he was the only musician to arrange his own album, not even the Beatles did that, even as brilliant as they were.
Two words about Jimi Hendrix. SAVANT. GENIUS. Seen by me on multiple occasions. CONFIRMED. The GOAT. Jimi died in 1970 aged 27. I wept. How did he die? Inhalation of vomit and wine induced by ingestion of Vesperax analgesic. Much said about foul play. Maybe waterboarded with red wine. I loved this man musically. He was my absolute hero. He was special beyond belief. His likes will never be seen again. If I had a time machine, I would go back in time and rescue Jimi from his fate. Why? Because he did not deserve that.
I think this performance was at the same Monterey Pop Festival that you recently watched Janis Joplin wow the audience with her version of Ball and Chain.
Jimi Hendrix's death was definitely suspicious. He basically drowned in an amazing amount of red wine....yet there was hardly any alcohol in his system based on the toxicology report. It is very plausible that he was waterboared to death. Hendrix was looking to break free from his manager Mike Jeffrey who was a very shady individual. We will never know exactly what happened.
Nonsense! Where did you get this information from? Kinda why I don’t believe almost anything I read online. Yes there’s a story there. But just don’t repost crap when you’ve never researched anything about the subject .
@@Mike-kv5pl first of all has anyone ever died this way before Hendrix did? It is impossible because when you throw up your abdomen clenches and you are doubled over. This was a hit because of the spies that worked for MI6. They would smuggle drugs and use Jimi's concerts for clandestine meetings. It gave them world wide access to all their spies around the world. Since the death of Hendrix Oliver North and Admiral Poindexter used the same methods in their arms for the Contras under Ronald Reagan. It allows these spy organizations to operate outside the scope of the government oversight.
Some People say it was a conspiracy what happened to Jimi but sadly we'll never know because the people that were possible involved died as well. Jimi actually died at 27 and is apart of the 27 club which is a group of people that died at that age who were famous.
Love your channel!!! He is playing with his teeth!!! This is his first US concert with the Experience, great DVD!!! Hendrix was murdered,.his lungs were filled with wine....
Hendrix created sounds on a guitar that weren't heard previously and it would blow you away when you saw him live. Three man groups are always outstanding. Was he the best ever? He certainly was the most different ever. (wait...that doesn't sound right) I saw all of these people all of the time back then but you didn't think "WOW. I'm listening to a GOD or GODDESS" Everyone was more chill, trippin', smokin', groovin'.
It's so shocking that someone hasn't heard of Jimi Hendrix, but I absolutely love your reaction to seeing and hearing him for the first time! Very similar to my first reaction and he still blows me away! I'm envious that you now have a world of Hendrix to discover! He produced soo much great music considering his tragically short life! ❤
No he didn't die of an OD. He choked on his vomit. The fact he had drugs in his system dors not make it an OD. imo he was waterboarded given the amount of wine in his throat and stomach despite having almost zero levels of alcohol in his blood. And there are very strong rumours he was murdered and some very compelling reasons why. Imo and that of many others who have looked deeply into this he was murdered, as was cobain, for very similar reasons
Hi. To entice revisits to your channel, consider how others pull it off: 1.) Instead of taking over 7 minutes to do it, get right to business, with running the artist's track. 2.) The sound was trebly shrill, and lacking in the warm mids & upper lows that were a huge part of Jimi's sound. Do whatever you haye to do, to make your playback of the artist's track SOUND AT LEAST AS GOOD as other reaction video channels do.👍 Jimi was amazing. Wasn't he? That was his teeth that he was playing with; an incredibly uncomfortable thing to do! When Jimi died, we _were_just crushed, _CRUSHED!!
Jimi was murdered there was no drugs in jimis system when he died also he had 5 gallons of red wine in his stomach yet hardly any alcohol in his blood stream. Jimi Janis and Morrison were all murdered like most musicians.
Unfortunately Jimi is part of the infamous 27 club as in artists who died at 27. Jimi, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison of the Doors, Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, Amy Winehouse, etc.
"JImi Hendrix should be a Rabbit Hole." You're a Rabbit Hole!!!!! I can't get out!!!! And someone should get Jimi a sandwich! He's eating his guitar! Check out his version of "All Along The Watchtower" (by Dylan)

Not advocating drug use however he was on two hits of strong acid playing guitar is hard enough. The people of today could not do that. Expect for a few.
Jimi couldn't make it in the States (his looks didn't match his music, US record companies were funny about that). He moved to London were that wasn't a problem and his career took off. He died too young, a great musician.
Jim I Hendrix is the GOAT. PERIOD
Thank God for Jimi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that Jimi is still considered next level in 2020.
Great point!
Nobody will ever pass jimi hes just amazing.
Happy 2021. And long live Jimi Hendrix.
I regret that I only got to see Jimi twice before he died. Such a loss. And yes, he did play his guitar with his teeth/tongue and behind his head and back. ☮️✌️

Best guitarist in the world
A guitar master number one of all time

No words are necessary to describe the undescribable.
Same concert he covers wild thing and lights his guitar on fire
Completely unbelievable
Jimi was more versatile than Eddie and just about everyone else. Jimi started the whole thing. He influenced EVERYONE.
Great reaction. Love Jimi's music

Playing guitar with his mouth, AND chewing gum.
The man was coolness embodied and sexy!!!!!!!!
Prince based his look on Hendrix, Hendrix was around years before Prince.

And... He didn't begin playing guitar until age 13. Imagine if he'd started 10 years younger.
15, almost 16 actually and couldn't read a note of theory.
Awesome Reaction Faith!
Listen to him LIVE!!!! His album tracks are mostly just watered down for radio play... He hated them

I frickin love Jimi! An incredible artist and performer. This is a cover, but Jimi also wrote great original songs.
Even his covers are originals!
Jimi died at age 27 vomitting from drugs and achohol. Him and Janis and many others now are in the infamous 27 club.

Gene Simmons says in heaven Hendricks is on one side of God and Eddie Van Halen on the other
hendrix is THE MAN!! but who gives a shit what Gene Simmons says...
And Simmons will never see either cause he'll be too busy getting bummed by satan
So no place for Jesus in his mentality then. In hell Simmons will wear a gimp suit and get bummed by satan on an hourly basis.
