- Hello my RUclips friends, this video is a quick recap of my Rainbow Wig Patreon exclusive series which has ended today. I've been receiving many questions from people who are considering becoming my patrons, but want to know more about my exclusive series. I hope this gives you a better idea of what this one is all about :)
Just a reminder that the techniques in my tutorials can be applied to any kind of doll not just BJD, so if you have a Monster High, Barbie or any other type of doll, these tutorials can still be used for your personal projects.

still waiting to learn how to finish the wig glueing and finishing for the wigs untangled videos. I have a wig that I started months ago and don't know how to properly finish it.

+Jill What do you mean? I was able to double the amount of videos I release on RUclips exactly because I am getting supported on Patreon. Nothing has changed on RUclips except that you get twice as much content for free so everyone has been benefiting from it ^0^
+Nicolle's Dreams I think what she means is that we do not get to see the videos, you sort of post "trailers" for videos that we would have to go pay for.

+Alexandrea Olson There are a few videos (I think just 8 right now) that are Patreon exclusive, but she is still releasing many to RUclips for everyone (back to basics, wigs untangled, faceup videos, haul videos, etc.)
+Alexandrea Olson Maybe so, but we're still getting twice as much free stuff compared to before. The whole reason we're getting trailers here for paid content is because 1. she needs to make money, 2. she deserves to make money off her talent, and 3. there are people who are willing to pay for it but want to know what they're getting in return.
Sorry for the long-winded comment, but it kind of bugs me that people would be upset because they can't have everything she has to offer for free.
Do these dying techniques work for dying nylon or saran doll hair like ever after high? and would it be heat resistant with the nylon/saran hair with dye on it?

+Ramon Soto that depends on the doll's head size, hairstyle, if the hair needs to be processed or dyed etc.

is it possible to make a wig with short hair, or a hair style like a mohawk, or something similar that involves the doll not having a full head of hair?
I doubt you can make a traditional wig like that. But MAYBE if you follow her tutorial, only apply glue and cut out the areas you want hair, apply hair to them and use some sort of adhesive to stick it on the dolls head, you can get what you are after. This will obviously will not look good if the doll has holes on its head for rooting. Hope this helps in some way ^_^
i really really want one of these dolls but they are just way way to expensive! do you have any tips of where to get them for cheaper?

I have a minor suggestion about these Patreon exclusive videos. I know you have the ability to access older rewards depending on the donation amount, but I really feel like it would be best if we knew what kind of reward videos you are going to do before the series ends. If I knew you were going to do a project that I was really interested in, I feel like I would be hyped to see them and more motivated to consider donating.
I know you probably wouldn't have any of the project done to show off in a trailer when the series has just started, but even just a quick video detailing what you plan on doing would be more than enough for me. Maybe you can show off the doll you're going to use for an upcoming faceup project, or show the materials you're going to use for a wig making project, something simple like that.
It's only a suggestion, so you can do whatever you feel works best, but I feel like it would help a lot to draw in potential Patreon donations.

I actually already did that :) If you check my previous recap video, I say what my next exclusive series will be about with a photo of a similar rainbow wig that I've done in the past. I also share work in progress of projects that are Patreon exclusive on my social media sites (before the series has even started) so that people are aware what I will be covering on Patreon.

Ah, I see! I guess I should try to be more active on social media. It would still be nice if you did more preview trailer videos or something like that on RUclips too, but I'm glad that you are getting the word out beforehand.

Interestingly enough that point was one of the main topics we had at a recent RUclips workshop where we were told "Avoid producing videos just because you think they will be popular. In the long run making videos you don't want to will probably just bring misery". It is a tricky balance to keep and sometimes us creators need to make unpopular decisions to ensure we keep our passion and motivation alive so that we don't get tired of everything and move onto other things.

I as wondering since you glue on the hairs on the cap are there any fall outs and can you still wash it?
You cannot let any water touch the wig at all if you use a washable glue, and yes, you will most definitely get fall outs. That is why these wigs are mostly recommended for display/ photography purposes only and not for play. It would be best to avoid any tangles and reduce the amount you touch it.
