My 2 year old boy is obsessed with the mandolin, he’s seen me playing since he was born. I have a couple high end instruments, and giving one of those to a toddler is a little….scary. So i got him a Kentucky KM500 and put new Rubner tuners and a Cumberland acoustics bridge on it. I’m very impressed by this little Kentucky! Cool series, Wayne!

Those strings are the Bobby Osborne Gauges. .011,.016.024.038. The old Gibson 161 monel sets that Monroe and others used in the 1950s and 60s were .011 .014 .025 .039. It seems at a later date Gibson changed the G gauges to .041. A video on mandolin string evolution would be interesting. I enjoy your channel and keep up the good work!

I am always looking for instrument deals on CL or other places. I don't really need them I just have a problem with buying instruments. 😆 I buy and resale occasionally too. Maybe do a little setup on them. Looks like a nice one you found there Wayne.
