I've owned mine new since 2017. I will never sell it. A brembo RCS master with braraided lines transforms the braking, and a quick shifter makes it near perfect. Chef's kiss.
This is The Way. I have steel brake lines, Brembo RCS MC, rear sets, quick shifter, and a few other small changes and it is pretty close to perfection. Very “analog,” simple, fun. I am never going to sell it.

I bought a new '24 GSX-R600 this past June after a 7'ish year hiatus from riding. Absolutely brilliant in its simplicity! As a long-running platform, the parts/accessories pipeline is also incredibly well established. I wanted nothing to do with the latest technologies, as they only add layers of complexity that make long-term ownership a burden. The old analog formula of the GSX-R600/GSX-R750 allows one to be more a rider and less an occupant. Analog gauges, cable-actuated clutch and throttle, no TFT, no ABS, no quickshifter, no wheelie/slide/lift/etc. nannies. Just a basic, easy-to-own motorcycle. I've owned a handful of American and metric cruisers, dual sports, supermotos, a Grom, an '09 R6, a variety of Ninjas, and logged countless thousands of miles on R1, R6, FZ-07, FZ-09, FJ-09, Super Tenere, VMax, Bolt, and a few flavors of V-Star. As an all-around bike, my current GSX-R600 and my former '09 R6 are a close tie with the GSX-R600 taking the win for street ergos. If this analog formula disappears from Suzuki's lineup, I'll no longer purchase new unless another company fills the void. The current generation of GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 are the last of the analogs and I'm here for it. Hoping to scoop a '25 GSX-R750 in the next few months to go alongside my 600.
Nice one. These will be the last analog sportbike from any manufacturer. Emissions laws will see to that. It's strange we can even still get these bikes considering they have long stopped being sold in Europe.
I bought my 2015 gsxr750 brand new and now have 35k miles on it, with about 6k of those being track miles and it’s never missed a beat. My wife bought her 2017 GSXR750 brand new as well, same story. She’s got 25k on hers with about 6k of them track miles as well. These bikes are STUPID reliable, powerful, and perfect in my opinion. I’ve ridden well over 50+ bikes which I have a lot of those on my channel as proof and I still to this day would take a 750 over ANY bike I’ve ridden. Love these bikes. 💯
As an owner of 2 GSX-R750's, a 2011 and a 2023, I approve of this message! As a rider that is 60 years young, I find it fine to take on long distance rides. Love taking them out on the highways for touring rides.
No abs, no traction control,no quick shifter and basic electronics.just ride and go fast.not pushing many buttons. Riding skill is all that's matters and enjoying riding it❤
63 years young and I just bought my second GSX-R750, a 2024 model that I absolutely LOVE ! This video is spot on 💯% why I chose this bike as my daily therapy machine.
I’m 62 & currently riding a 2014 750 Anniversary Edition on street & track, it’s my 3rd one, o5,07, best bike ever, I can ride it all day long, if you’re in shape riding position is not an issue
I remember when 750’s were “the” bike especially for racing. Having these bikes STILL available is some quirk in the universe that’s amazing. Mad respect. 💪🏼 I don’t need a smartphone to make a call, and I don’t need a computer to ride a bike fast 😉
The G.O.A.T. It ain’t broke don’t fix it! On the street it’s more bike than you need. On the track match your skill level to the bike that you can work with.
Most of the new bike designs that are even moderately affordable have gone backwards, while the GSX-R 750 stayed the same. Thats why its the now the best in the affordable Sportsbike class
Amazing bike, I bought mine brand new late 2018 in the Ecstar colour - Triton Blue metallic and never regretted that colour choice it looks gorgeous in the sun! Fitted a Yoshi r77 carbon fibre slip on (it does sound deeper than the standard can) also a Puig tinted double bubble screen and a Translogic QS, what a bike! Recently got those exact tyres too the S23’s and my god they are good, the 016 battleAxe were just okay and did the job. This engine at crank produces 150hp stock and dyno around 125whp so not sure why you say 120hp. I’ve seen videos of this same bike with full exhaust system, race air filter and tuned correctly with fuel mapping producing 135hp at the wheel on a dyno. Excellent bikes and they beg you to go faster.. will keep up with any modern 1000cc SBK around the twists and turns up until around 200km/h. Make no mistake they are way too fast for the road!
I’m on my third GSXR 750 and the reason is it’s simply the perfect sports bike! Incredible handling, great braking (added a brembo master cylinder) and enough power to get you in trouble but without really needing any computer control. Every time I ride it it just makes me smile 😃
Got a 23 and I have had 4 liter bikes prior and this bike just is so much more fun for what I do plus I put a bag on the back seat so I can run errands and such. Get 50 mpg and it will keep a smile on your face the whole time with that beautiful induction noise. Also when you are pushing it there’s a whole different felling that you and you only are the reason you get home safe without all those additional electronic aids.
My son had a 2009 model. I rode it more than he did. Short Yoshi slip-on and remove the exhaust butterfly, do an ECU flash which removes the timing retard in 1st 3 gears and do a sprocket swap and you have 140bhp on the wheel and runs a true 300km in 5th. I did plenty high speed touring. Was definitely the best bike I've ridden. Great memories.
Bought my 2025 gsxr750 this year and its amazing i already got over 5k on her. I personally really love the analog feeling of this bike. Only complaint i have it the darn CAT on it gonna get that cut off soon!
He mentions 120 hp, but on dynos this bike is 125+ at the wheel so ~142+ hp a the crank and more with ram air at high speeds, thats why it can hit 172 mph with a smallish pilot on board
It's reviews like yours that got me to buy one beginning of '24. The more I ride it the more I love it. I've made some upgrades to the brakes (brembo master, steel lines and SBS front pads) and I have way more confidence going into corners, especially with the feel of the Brembo master. I think the bike is often overlooked because it hasn't been updated in years, however it still manages to get the praises of everyone who rides one and is still used in pro racing today.
True. I attended the world launch back in 2011 (I think, it was a long time ago). They are still amazing bikes that get overlooked in the techno world we live in now. And it'll still be a good bike in 10 years time.
I bought a 2013 gsxr 750 new in 2014…over 50k miles now and I’ll never sell it…never had a issue beside a a stator and I have tracked the bike over a hundred times at this point and wrecked it twice. Original motor still pulls great and never left me stranded. Basic mods like lines, master, rear sets, is all you need! Ride and enjoy more / stop worrying about stats and new tech - learn to ride! Fantastic review of the OG for every sportbike we have today. Suzuki, more than any other manufacturer, can blend all the bits into a total package better than anyone else; this has always been their strength, and the GSXR 750 is the epitome of that. I have always said that anyone that claims to be a sportbike enthusiast needs to own a 750 GSXR at some point. And nice to hear your take on no quick-shifter. I have never been a fan, as it takes away one of the most satisfying and enjoyable parts of riding for me (says the guy with three cars which are all manuals 🙂)
So glad we can still buy them new here in the U.S. The fact that it's 100% analog including cable throttle is actually a breath of fresh air in today's electronic, synthetic feeling world.
After deciding to buy this GSXR for all the reasons you are raving about, I went to the dark side and put a deposit down on a R9… but if it doesn’t show up at the dealer around the promised time, I’ll buy the 750 in a heartbeat! I wish Kawasaki had followed suit and kept 750 around as well.
I love my 2022 GSXR 750RZ! I am in total agreement with you on your analysis of the GSXR 750. I've made many improvements on mine over the last couple of years to improve and refine its handling even more.
I wanted a 750 but I'm from Europe and they stopped selling these over here a very long time ago, ended up getting a new gen 3 hayabusa and I agree, the induction noise is awesome, it's literally louder than the exhaust, I love how it sounds
@@Bobs750 That would still fall under the emission regulations as it's a new bike and from outside the EU so there is no way to register it, all good anyway, I like my torque monster busa, I just need a naked for the city and I'm set 😅
Great review as always from Rennie! Small correction: the GSX-R750 has ~150hp (at the crank), the GSX-R600 is the one with ~120hp (mentioned around 3:41 in the video).
@@cyclenewsAgreed but the 120hp number was compared to 200hp for superbikes which is also a crank (quoted) figure or should also be revised to 180-190hp depending on the bike
Umm…this bike dyno’s anywhere from 122-129 rwhp depending on the test you watch. Any full exhaust (mine is an M4) and a flash, like mine, and it’s the most fun you can have on the street. 0-80 mph it’s as fast as any 1000 cc bike, cheaper tires (180 rear), super light weight with razor sharp handling (luv my Pirelli’s), steel braided lines give you the brakes the factory should have, quick shifter is super fun so add one (still gotta rev match on down shifts), and I am waiting on my Corbin seat!!!
At a time when New bikes are ditching inline 4 cylinders, using smaller twins or triple engines, making less power because of emissions, & manufacturers are dropping super bikes altogether, its considered positive when bikes remain the same, rather then getting worse. Rather tragic & an ominous sign for the future of the motorcycle industry.
I had a 2006 750. Awesome bike, great sounds from the airbox! This is the bike that really put Suzuki on the sport bike map, and established the brand as a force to be reckoned with in the modern (at the time) sport bike era. A handful of riders launched their racing careers through the contingency program that was prolific back then. It really is a do-it-all bike, which I was able to experience first hand. I hope Suzuki keeps making this bike!

Nailed it. I recently went to the shop where I bought my liter bike. My words exactly… the bike is gonna kill me, you can’t go slow. I wish I went 750 or even 600.
maybe just the older gen like myself that do not want electronic everything but i say that suzuki gsxr 750 doesn't need to be like ducati/ ktm/bmw keep it simple
I have a 2015 gsr 750. same engine as an 05 gixxer 750. That engine is just plain fun. Maybe not as fast as the gixxer, but sounds awesome and gives you great acceleration.
LOVE the premise of this motorcycle. All the electronic, nanny controls are located between the ears of the rider...for better or worse. Aside from the fuel injection...it's basically an old school 'analogue' motorcycle...reliable as an axe, fantastic. Lots of parts/service support...whether OE or aftermarket. Yes, it's expensive. And you're worth it...if this 750 motorcycle shares your perspective and premise to riding.
I owned a 2005 gixxer 750, had it for 8 years, and its the best bike i've owned, and selling it was a huge mistake. Did a few trackdays, and it was a perfect track bike to learn how to go quicker and build confidence. Once i'd played with the setup a bit, it was amazing on twisty hills roads and kept up with the 1000's of the time on those roads without feeling dangerous, and its comfortable, for a sportsbike. I have a 2003 zx9r now, which is a very underrated bike, but she is a big old girl to throw around after the Gixxer. #CycleNews Been following Remy, since he worked and wrote for AMCN in Oz. Glad to see him kicking ass
What is wrong with an analogy bike? - Nothing. With a properly tuned suspension and engine all you need to do is ride it and have fun. Although I do have to say I like having ABS brakes. Thanks for the review and thanks to Suzuki for still making the bike.
Great clip man love it. I got a 2011 GSXR750 6 months as an in-between bike before I get another Hayabusa again but man I'm really enjoying this bike and think i will keep it. Like you said it just does everything well. I put handle bar risers on it and dropped the front sprocket down one tooth and the rear sprocket up two and it's just perfect now. Im in Australia and my L1 has 130hp at the wheel so like 150hp at the engine. Do you have restrictions on your GSXR750 in the USA to only have 120hp? Anyway love the clip. Keep the GSXR 750 clips coming 👍😊💪
Good stuff. I said 120 hp, but I should have said rear wheel hp. It's actually about 123-126 rear wheel hp according to the guys who build the fastest 750s in the world (the Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki team I spoke to this morning for clarification). We have a few little restrictions that I'm not exactly privy to but 130 hp is pretty healthy for your bike.
@cyclenews True true. I'm just going off the dyno sheet that came with the bike and all of the dyno runs on RUclips that are mostly over 130hp at the wheel from Moore mafia who constantly gets 130hp or more out of 750s with full systems. Anyway, as you said, the bike dose the talking not the HP numbers as they have just the right amount of power to weight and a great bike. Great clips man. Keep them coming 😃👍
No doubt. I think the reason it doesn't have newer tires on it is because when it came out all those years ago, those were the tires it was homologated with. That means they legally have to sell the bike with those tires, even though they have long stopped production. Stupid rule, I know. The brakes should be a given, totally agree with you.
With a full system and tune its still a handful even for experienced riders. Any sportbike properly geared for acceleration, including 600's, have enough power and acceleration to beat Tesla's on the road. All you need is the right gearing, a good launch, and a good rider.
They have about 121 at the wheel. 125 on a really generous dyno. Don't believe crank numbers. They mean nothing. Here's the dyno from our buddies at Cycle World from 2022 (same bike). www.cycleworld.com/bikes/suzuki-gsx-r750-dyno-test-2022/
My 3rd biker was an brand new 1985 GSXR750, then 1987 GSXR1100, 1997 GSXR750 SDRA, 2006 GSXR100 and now a GSXR750R... had the first Ninja back in 1984 the 900 then the 600, bought the Gixxer and never look back...
Fantastic review. I’ve had a load of Gixxer’s and loved them all and would probably have another if I had a space in my garage. Maybe analogue bikes will make a comeback at some point but highly unlikely in the UK as emission laws are only going one way and the government are going out of their way to reduce motorbikes on the road. The latest backward step is removing motorbikes from bus lanes but I shouldn’t complain as it looks much worse in Germany.. ah well, rant over and thanks for the vid, brought a smile to my face and great to hear that insane induction roar…
I hear you, John. The emissions laws will eventually kill most bikes (hopefully not in my riding lifetime). Removing bikes from bus lanes would be a disaster.
I definitely want an '11+ gixxer 750. I had an SRAD that I really loved and agree with the assessment of the video that these are just kind of the best sport bikes.
Great review & 100% agree. It's an iconic machine & I used to have one which was probably the best bike I've ever owned, if not the coolest maybe. However, it does need an update imo, but not much, & only just enough to get it back in to the global market, especially Europe. Suzuki can get all the necessary components from their existing models parts bin so it wouldn't require a major overhaul & the price wouldn't need to go up much at all either. I'm desperate for Suzuki to update this as I'm in Europe & with the R9, V2, & some of the 600 i4's etc coming back in to fashion, surely it's a no-brainer?!? Done right, the GSXR750 would be better than them all & fly out of dealers!
Thanks, but I highly doubt you'l see them on sale in Europe again. They need to get ride-by-wire, and ABS at a minimum to be sold in Europe and Suzuki won't invest the energy into that. It's a shame, but I can't see it happening. I seriously hope I'm wrong. You're correct in that they would kill in the sales.
@cyclenews Yep totally agree with you. I'm just desperate tbh lol, but I don't think Suzuki, least of all the Japanese companies, will do it either. A criminal shame if so, but as you say, would love to be wrong! Merry Christmas buddy. : )

I love my 2022 GSXR 750RZ! I am in total agreement with you on your analysis of the GSXR 750. I've made many improvements on mine over the last couple of years to improve and refine its handling even more.
Got me thinking I really need to have one permanently in my garage.
Suzuki should through a pair of dual round headlights on it with retro livery and take my money!
i think its one of the best bikes of all time
Dead right
Its the sweet spot and im glad suzuki isnt changing it any time soon!
This video convinced me to buy the 2025 GSXR-750! Thanks for the awesome content.
Yes! Great choice! You'll love it.
@ choosing between Iron Grey and your color was not easy.
Hey Rennie, another awesome review on a truely iconic analog superbike, thanks again bro!
I have an 04 GSXR 1000 and its a beast
Awesome bike. I love the pointy front bodywork with the old gixers.
I brought one of the last ones in NZ before they were banned because of no ABS 2021. I’m 55 and love it.
Well done!
I wanted a 750 but I'm from Europe and they stopped selling these over here a very long time ago, ended up getting a new gen 3 hayabusa and I agree, the induction noise is awesome, it's literally louder than the exhaust, I love how it sounds
That's a beast of a bike!
Still available in Canada. Find a friend to ship you one. 😉
That is the quoted HP from Suzuki. On the dyno, the 750 makes about 125 at the tire. The 600 is about 105 at the tire.
@@cyclenewsAgreed but the 120hp number was compared to 200hp for superbikes which is also a crank (quoted) figure or should also be revised to 180-190hp depending on the bike
@@apantelop Fair call.
Agree 100%. Thank you!
They stopped selling them here in Australia. Bring it back.
When did they stop selling it?
@@cyclenews 2021 is the latest model you can buy. So 2021. I think it had to do with having no ABS.
love my k7 such a fine piece of machinery.
OH, about other new bikes beating the GSXR750, well that 70% depends on the rider... 🙂
I always wanted one. Stuck with the gear driven cam VFR 800 for all the reasons you said at the end.
Spot on
Love that bike!
Love my GSXR 750. More fun than the duke 790 and R1 I had before it. Even better once I threw some after market parts at it too
Nice one
And we don't get it in NZ because new motorcycles have had to be equipped with ABS since 2020! What a shame.
Yes, us too. A one-make series of this would be pretty cool as well.
BEST COMPROMISE EVER
Fun to listen to you Rennie! I have an former WERA '09 rat bike w/Ohlins front/rear, it rips; i smoke alot of bikes with wings at SE track days!
👊
A bike that will still challenge the rider n no ABS gotta Dig It Really was the first True SB Back in our Days 😂
I wish they just dropped some its weight, updated its aesthetics, and left everything the same (maybe a brake upgrade) they would sell loads more.
No One Change the Perfect Recepie Except most of the Manufactures!
Let us All Wish the Best for Suzuki Managers and Engeniers.
❤
From the last K3/k4 s from 20 years ago till these new ones, these are Fantastic Machines.
✌️
600s are kind of meh. 1000s want to kill you. The Gix 750 was the sweet spot and has been for 20+ years.
Correct
Absolutely love a good fast analogue bike, I steer clear of all the bs tech on bikes but it's getting harder to do so 😔
Yeah it really is.
Yes, there's so much stuff for this bike you can make it as mean as you want.
I want one in my garage along with my 2022 GSXS1000, GSXR for mainly track . The KYT helmet looks trick to Remy. Keep up the great work over there.🇦🇺
Cheers! (Rennie) Also, here's the link to the helmet: kytamericas.com/products/nz-race-carbon?variant=40132807426163
I have the 2016 gsxr 750 man i love it i am 60 years old and i can ride it all day long.
Cheers! I had a '01 ZX-9R when I was a pup. Rad bike (Rennie)
What is wrong with an analogy bike? - Nothing. With a properly tuned suspension and engine all you need to do is ride it and have fun. Although I do have to say I like having ABS brakes. Thanks for the review and thanks to Suzuki for still making the bike.
Nothing wrong with analog for sure!
Love my 2024 750
Tbh I would’ve loved if Suzuki gave it a tft and updated the headlights. Just glad it doesn’t have wings.
A lot of comments on the headlight. Totally agree with you on the lack of wings.
Great clip man love it. I got a 2011 GSXR750
6 months as an in-between bike before I get another Hayabusa again but man I'm really enjoying this bike and think i will keep it.
@timdavie158 yea I'm usa I had a brand new one in 2013 stock was like 152 hp at the crank so wheel was probably around 130.
What a great no nonsense bike video.
Cheers Matthew!
Had 5 gsxrs all ccs and lots other R bikes and to me Suzuki will always be the best, theyre not old they are perfect.
I understand not updating it, but to keep it at this price point, at least put nice tires and brakes lines on it.
No doubt. I think the reason it doesn't have newer tires on it is because when it came out all those years ago, those were the tires it was homologated with. That means they legally have to sell the bike with those tires, even though they have long stopped production. Stupid rule, I know. The brakes should be a given, totally agree with you.
My dream bike since the 80’s! I just picked up a 2022 GSX S750 but still want a proper gixxer but thinking more about getting a liter bike
Sounds even better with a sprint and mid-range velocity stacks
With a full system and tune its still a handful even for experienced riders. Any sportbike properly geared for acceleration, including 600's, have enough power and acceleration to beat Tesla's on the road. All you need is the right gearing, a good launch, and a good rider.
Excatly.
How does the new one only have 120 horsepower? My 2012 was like 140 hp.
What I saw said it has 150
Ya my 2013 was 152 I believe at the crank
They have about 121 at the wheel. 125 on a really generous dyno. Don't believe crank numbers. They mean nothing. Here's the dyno from our buddies at Cycle World from 2022 (same bike). www.cycleworld.com/bikes/suzuki-gsx-r750-dyno-test-2022/
@ got it. I just didn’t know if the power decreased due to stricter emissions. Thanks! 👍
you are very lucky: in Europe it is not avalaible anymore...and I'm from Italy
Perfection , just like a motorcicle should be.
Best trackday bike ever! I had an ‘06🤘
I ride one of these great bike, no crap, fast enough to get into trouble.
I wish I could get my hands on one. Such a cool one to have in a garage 💪🏽👌🏽😎
👍
Love my 2015. Long live the 750!
I loved my 2006 , road the hell out of it for ten years. Still regret selling her 😞.
Liked and subscribed. I wouldn't complain about more horsepower or a peaking meaner power band, but at the moment , this is the best stock bike going.
Thanks for the sub. Yes, it's gem of a bike. Could always use a little more--I guess that's what the aftermarket is for.
I have mine 2012 in Europe, it’s such a perfect bike.
I definitely want an '11+ gixxer 750. I had an SRAD that I really loved and agree with the assessment of the video that these are just kind of the best sport bikes.
Agreed
750 the only bike you'll ever need
love my gixxer
Holy fkry this bike so good oldschool trackbike
Very cool bike...
Had a 2008 750 and a 2018 750, regret selling both
Yeah, I can imagine. Pick up a second hand one before they become hard to fiind.
Nothing worse than selling a bike and regretting it mate. I just sold a bike which I immediately regretted. 🙃
Awesome bike!
