I like the idea using the engine stand to rebuild it on, beats the daylights out of rolling it on the floor back and forth on 6x6 chunks! Its good to see Hunter working along as well! Have a great day and thanks again for taking me along!
Thanks
People are lucky to have a shop like yours in their neighborhood
Thanks
Now that I'm retired, I like watching other people do the heavy lifting.
I hope your customers and viewers appreciate the fact that you do not take short cuts.
Top quality work and equipment!!!
Thanks
The more of your videos I watch the more impressed I am. How in the world do you know where all those parts go? Well done.
I am so glad I got introduced to you through watching Dirt Perfect, I love Kevin's humor and style I love your relationships with your sons and how well you treat them, you're a good father, and this channel is really awesome because of the two of you and your sons.
Thanks for the kind words
Any way a person looks at the winch issue, you don't want to make the same mistake twice. I like the idea of exposing your boys to the experience of repair work in the shop. Experience is always the best teacher in life. Thanks for the interesting videos, they are enlightening to see what you have to do to make something correctly.
like watching folks work. My mousin' is hard work too
Oh yea, we'll keep watching till it's up and running
The extra parts are called, "pocket parts" by some, although you would have to have some big pockets and a strong pair of suspenders to keep your pants up. It is really good to see Hunter learning life skills the best way, too.
Like how u try to keep the cost down for the customer great watch👍👋🇨🇦
Thanks
you guys are amazing with the wealth of knowledge of things.nice job.love seeing hunter learning the trade
Big dude really knows his stuff.
The lightest thing on any yellow iron is the WALLET!

We got good news and bad news. We can fix it is the good. Now the bad. You get a bank loan for the sticker shock and have the ambulance on stand by in case of heart attack for the bill.
Lol

I Wouldn't Want To Be The Logging Owner Who's Got To Pay That Bill 😱💰💰.
Enjoying Watching Your Ingenious Way's Of Fixing Machines 👏👏🇬🇧👍
Thanks
The logers made a right royal mess of that winch. Major carnage on every part.someone taking a big pay cut.😲
More Hunter and less Kevin. Great work, and costly too.
Removed a transmission from a 275 Clark Michigan loader for repairs. It would not push into a sandpile in 2nd gear, and 3rd was weak under way. After complete disassembly, discover all the clutch packs were the same, owner did not want to repair properly. SO I swapped 4th clutch pack with # 2 , and put 1st in 3rd replaced needed bearings and gaskets, reinstalled put it back to work. Company went belly up 6 months later.
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do I guess
Nice Work!
Buddies, yet again you`ve just served up another video that was " riveting" 👍👍
Thanks
What the heck !??!
Boss man and Kevin both wearing nice clean uniform looking clothes.
I gotta thunk someone special was gonna visit or the Wives.
Or they just wanted to impress that young man Hunter by lookin' professional.
It's always nice when a Dad has his Sin working with him to learn the trade so he can take over the family business when it's time for Dad to retire.
AS usual Clint another kick ass video. Thanks
What an absolute mess was made of this! No matter as it gives us a great video of you rebuilding it.
Thanks for the video like it on the winch .
I’m always impressed that you guys can fix anything. It’s good to see your boys taking an interest in the business. Love the channel.
Thanks
cool video guys
Thanks
Excellent work C&C, fixing a wench is not for the average dude 👍🏻👍🏻
“The Winch Shop” - That has a nice ring to it.
Lol
Great teaching video. What about the little short drive line I bet it will be costly also. One thing about it though whoever buys your equipment will get quality stuff! Thanks for sharing, Clinton.
Surprised the owner didn't want the cracked case back so he could drop it on the car of whichever of his employees did this to that poor machine.
Lol
Clint, you and Kevin compliment each other so well working on that winch. True professionals.
Thanks
Great video Clint 👍 🤙👍✌️👌😎🇺🇲
Thanks
I am glad I don't have to pay that bill. Dayyyum!!
I'll bet that bossman was throwing his own fit when seeing this carnage.
And again when he pays the repair bill...
👍👍☝️😎✌🏻… Hunter’s gonna be a good shop foreman one day! Once you get grease on your hands; it’s there for life. ☝️he’s very steady on the lift. He’s had good teachers.
He is
Thanks
Great video guys and who ever picked the music give him a raise!
🙋♂️
Hi Clint and Kevin i really enjoy your machine rebuilds. As a young fella i working in the logging industry driving skidders, dozer and excavators. I always looked after my machines. Love the vids. Bravo from Victoria Australia
👍👍
those winches usually will drag whatever machine they are mounted on all over the place ,they had the dozer hooked to a dead man.aand yes parts are real expensive ,John Deere is real proud of thier name.
Fantastic job Hunter. Keep everyone working.
Sausage fingers doing great job of hydration and inspection 😂
Great video
Thanks
Awesome music!
Shop repair at its best making do with what you can get
Armchair quarterback here.Have they never heard of a snatch block? Or am I wrong? Thank you by the way for another excellent video It beats watching the news Etc. God bless
It’s all wide open with loggers
That is quite the job taking a winch from a skidder, then converted & rebuilt it to be used on a dozer.
Fivestars for Hunter for working with Kevin LOL
Lol
Sharing 💯
Thanks
Great video I can't imagine putting it together too much for me to remember Well done guys
Thanks
Clint Kevin and Hunter great video! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Thanks for watching
Clint, I know it would have been more time consuming but it would have been nice to be able to see you and Kevin put that winch back together in real time instead of quick time as I could not tell anything about the parts or how it went together. Thanks.
Yea
It’s time consuming for sure
nice swap over and rebuild. thanks as always for sharing and good to see more of the crew involved more and more including Hunter :)
Thanks
Nice work fellas.
Thanks
Excellent video Clint, so interesting. Thank you for taking us along!

Excellent Parenting skills. Sharing your knowledge and experience in the Shop and Behind controls of vehicles to your youngsters will give them a great confident start in life. My Father wouldn't let me pick a spanner up..Kudos to you.

Still going back in time and videos as I'm a newbie here. This was one fun video! Thanks, Clint! Happy New Year to you and the entire shop! Be well, be safe!

Thanks
Great video!!! Love how you cover the details. Thank you
What a great hobby doing this work and what a pleasure to get to this job every day 🤗👊👏
Fun video Clint…
Thanks
Nice.
Do they let the operator off for all that damage? Somebody was having a bad day!! Lot of work, nicely done guys 👍🇺🇸
Who knows
Thanks
Great video. Good to see Hunter helping out. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to part 3.
Thanks for watching
👍👍👍
Will start with the big thumbs up bro 👍then say a very enjoyable video from you guys. Safe travels bro
As always another great educational video THANKS
Unreal how some people can cause so much damage by not stopping, and just thinking about what they're doing. I'm sure if you took money out of their pay checks to cover repairs, they'd treat the equipment differently. Nice job with the rebuild and really cool to see all that carnage.
Yep
Probably wouldn’t get paid for a year also!
Great job guys look forward to the next video 🦘👍
I wish you guys were closer (Georgia),I wouldn't hesitate buying a used piece of equipment from you.Clint, you are a wealth of skill and knowledge! That 175c is the bomb!
Thanks
👍
Well done Men 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks
So since the skidder hooks up to bottom, you could take the skidder parts and put them in the busted winch housing off the dozer and it would be usable on a skidder
Except for the huge holes where the cast is broken
@@C_CEQUIPMENT didn't you say the skidder didn't use those holes, weld them up.
O-vair for over there, up-air for up there. Sounds like GA lingo. I understand every thing "yall" say.
Kevin randomly mooing for no apparent reason is priceless. Something wrong that boy, I tell you.
Those 20mm mounting bolt no flat washer, spring washer or loctite? Gonna be an expensive bill! 🇦🇺🍺🍺
No
That’s how they come from factory
cool video
Thanks
you should have the customer consider to add a high torque friction clutch- like a stepper clutch from the main shaft on a combine - just so they never again spin off a drive shaft
don't you just hate when you have part's left over, assembled a Ikea cabinet and had screws left over found out they have to be installed at the beginning of the assembly 😢 great video as always 👍👍👌
🤦♂️🤦♂️
very cool to see how it's done !
Interesting given the amount of vibration on that unit, the designers didn’t specify lock washers or locknuts on the winch. I came from the aircraft industry, we locked or wired everything from the toilet door up. Maybe that’s coloured my view of fastening.
Yea
They must have some reason
Ah, it takes me back to the ole days when I was the supervisor for the winch assembly line in CAT Decatur,IL. We were to build eight ?? winches per day. I had four guys or five??? and they would tell me each morning which models we had enough parts to build. One or two might have been on the schedule. That usually changed about noon because our own machine shop didn't give us the parts they were supposed to produce a week ago. It was a real screwed up mess. Those were winches designed by Hyster and "re-engineered" buy Caterpillar.
Interesting
Thank you for another great nah steller how to video.
Thanks
Better remember to change the serial number and model tag or you will confuse the next person that goes to work on it and order parts according to the tag model number.
Saved the ears!

I've always wondered what the inside of a John Deere winch looked like. Way better winch than the old Gearmatic winches on the old timberjacks and short frame Cat skidders
They are an excellent winch imo
