I find it enlightening that these three pros aren’t really into the technology behind the paddles they use but us Rec players can reel off paddle specs in our sleep. Props to Travis for keeping it real.

Great interviews John. The face of these Protons are not the norm, Peel Ply is.Think it's a PU Paint. Kind of "rubberish" More spin to me would make play more interesting i.e. Ping Pong. Hitting a ATP from the baseline corners would be great.

Travis Rettemeirer by far the most thoughtful guy in professional pickleball always a great interview
Really like to hear Travis going deep on PB, one of the smartest guys on the tour. Don't agree with him on power limits, but he argues the point well.
Andrei is the best professional player!
Spin is the only thing keeping power in check.
Did you get a chance to play outside in Phx? :) Good job on the interviews. Travis' comment on having fun playing with 60+ 3.5-4.0 players at the parks was enlightening. Interested in hearing your take on the latest UPA/PPA "paddle collusion" news.
Can you explain more on the break-in period? I have my own proton and just like Meghan i didn’t experience a break in but only have had it for 2 weeks now
The paddle does loosen up over the first couple of weeks, both the nanotac surface and the underlying carbon fiber layers. So it gets a little plusher and the sweet spot seems to spread out a bit. But there's also just a getting used to the paddle period, since it's nonstandard in many ways and doesn't play much like other paddles
Tell Andrei to share some of the pine tar with Rettenmaier... based on his play this last week... he needs what ever he can get.

Wondering if some weak loser would bring that up. Figures a guy that styles himself el Guap would be the one 😄. Anyone with a brain, that took the time to fact check, would understand Andrei manned up when he could have pointed fingers...... I would imagine either of these guys would tap dance on you playing with a paddle cover..... there are those that do things and those that try to pull themselves up by being clever. Buddy, you aren't bright enough for that.
Even if they limit power in paddles there’s still players that can hit the ball hard?

The paddles are moving forward, but the pro sport has been moving backward for the last four years. It is a total mess right now. Players need a union to set playing standards and even venue standards. Last weekend it was super hot and sunny outside, on Championship Court, the players had zero shade during their breaks. When they dumped Steve Kuhn, the pro sport of pickleball took a dozen steps back, and still going backward.

After spending 350 on a labs paddle and playing with others. Selkirk sucks. Many other better paddles from smaller companies. Imo.
So out of stock for over 8 months, really are they selling paddles? And the friction test, heard it well exceeds the new test, now what? Are they holding off on selling them till they see what USA Pickleball is going to do? Is that why they aren’t selling them? Be nice if they could come up with a paddle to sell!
The friction test exceeds, but the amount of spin created was on par with what other paddles are at.
Right. I've never seen anyone with these paddles even on YT.
