Three years old, but just as staggering beautiful as when I first watched it. What a work of art! I do wish you showed the sides and top as well. I caught a quick glimpse of one side and I so wished I had seen the full view.... As always, I am an ardent fan who never tires of watching you perform magic on your pieces.
That piece is just gorgeous! I love your techniques for achieving this. I just don't know if I am brave enough to try it, but I want to. I am going to go through my stash of smaller pieces and pick one out to give these techniques a try! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Jodie. I am also Jodie. Last year I started painting furniture and started my business "The Baja Restorative." I LOVE your tutorials and I learn so much from your creative ideas. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous ART!
I love the finished product...it was one of those "trust the process" pieces. I think I'm sold on the the spray bottle process as well as the gloss clear coat. It is beautiful as always. Thanks for always emphasizing the "have fun with it" attitude! Patty K.
This is just stunning. You had me going there for a bit w/all that gold, but I should of known the end effect would be awesome. And I love the idea w/the watered down paint & blow dry. Great idea!
Greetings from Greenville South Carolina, USA. Jodi, Love the tutorial and technique tips. You are a very gifted artist and inspire me so very much!!! Thank you, for the hard work that you put forth for these exceptional and quality videos.
LOVE this! Learned so much. About to do my first piece, and I knew I wanted to turn my old desk into a jewel toned vanity but didn't know where to start. So glad to follow you for me ideas!
What a pleasure to watch you work on your pieces. You achieve a one-of-a-kind look each and every time. You are so bold with your paints and technique that I tend to hold my breath watching your risk-taking approach. But then you gain control and pull things back just enough. I haven't had the courage yet to approach the method you use, but I plan to abandon my controlled style in favor of yours to give it a whirl. ~gulp! I look forward to each of your videos and I'm so happy you post at least once a week.
Thank you so much Sydni and that was such a lovely read. Sometimes I hold my own breath and think, oh I hope I can pull this together 😂 But if you ever go a little crazy with the paint then be sure to send me a few pics, I would love to see! ❤️❤️
I love your outcome of this piece. I am going to do a project this week on an old amiore. I hope it turns out half as well as yours and I thank you for your knowledge and beautiful share.🙂❤✌
I loved that method Jodie and some of my favourite colours. I need to be brave so may give this one a go on a little chest of drawers that I have. The gold part not sure I can do but we will see.
My face and thoughts in the middle of the video “ 🫣😲 what the hell is she doing!? “ 😂😂 then waiting until the end and being like “ 😀 wow 🤩 I really love it “
Thank you! You can pull them out and wipe off while wet, but I worry that will have an affect on the way the drips settle. Honestly I just get a little bit of sandpaper and sand away the paint that has settled where it shouldn't have.
Hi I always enjoy watching you create❣️ I’m not a gloss fan either but you def made the right call…so FUN🤩 the darker blue looks like Tanzanite….thank you for sharing 😊kim
Hi Jodi, this piece came out beautiful. You are very talented. But i am a bit perplexed. At 8:23 in the video, you have blues with dripping yellow. Then at 8:30 in the video, i am looking at a different set of colors. There's very little yellow, mostly blues but also reds coming out. What have you done in between that we don't see? How did reds appear? I would love to see the process. Thank you.
Hmm I'm not sure I see it... that being said when a lot of water is used, it can break up the pigments in the paint so I'm wondering if that is what you are seeing 🙂
My honest answer Jesse is that I'm not sure. It's something I haven't tried. If the interior paint is water based and can be mixed with water, then I don't see why not. Maybe you could test a little bit of scrap wood first

Stunning ❤️ I would like to know how you deal with all the drip on the bottom of the draws, and in side of the draws.
Thank you! You can pull them out and wipe off while wet, but I worry that will have an affect on the way the drips settle. Honestly I just get a little bit of sandpaper and sand away the paint that has settled where it shouldn't have.

Do you have to sand the PC down 1st when using Dixie bell paints??
I live this one! Stunning, may I give it a try please?
Thank you and absolutely! I'd love to see if you do 🤗
@@jodieflavell awsome, ty:)
Beautiful!!! How does the paint hold up! Some pieces I’ve painted chip easily
Thank you! If prepped and sealed correctly, the pai t holds up perfectly 👍🙂

So I’m trying this look right now 😁, quick question, how long did you let the wax dry before adding the gold digger and all that water?
Not long Linda... Just fifteen minutes and then I wiped away the excess. Hope you are having fun!
@@jodieflavell Thanks!!!! It is fun 🙂
Did you put one or two first layers of the cobalt and sea foam color? I’m trying this and I only put one coat on….
I put on one layer but put it on quite thick, from what I remember.
Woderful
Thank you!
Can I achieve this look with regular interior paint and not chalk paint?
My honest answer Jesse is that I'm not sure. It's something I haven't tried. If the interior paint is water based and can be mixed with water, then I don't see why not. Maybe you could test a little bit of scrap wood first
Yes you can. I've done it
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks! 🙂❤️

I tried this…mine looked nothing like yours.😢❤
Ahh sorry to hear that. I'd love to see a photo to see if there is anything I can do to help!
