Slave started out without Steve Arrington....I love Steve...he is a complete original ...I took his place on bad enuff album and did every song lead vocals on new plateau...what do you think of those albums Queen?
A great band with one of the funkiest bass players ever seen & heard on earth (R.I.P. Mr. Mark Adams)! Although the director will never win a Bass Player's Filmaker Award with not one close up to the bassist in this video...a lil' bit of sadness comes at the end...
Drac was doing a lot of those solos back in the day that people are giving Prince credit for. Like this solo on slide was done in 1976 prince was doing a lot of that shit in the early 80s so give Drac his props.
One of the ONLY live performances of the incredible Mark Hicks aka....DRAC!@ Also ....other albums recorded post Steve Arrington Slave: "Visions of the Light" Slave "Bad Enuff 1983 and Slave "New Plateau" 1984........I sang all lead vocals on New Plateau and shared with The incredible Danny Webster on Steppen out and In and Out and a duet on "share your love with Mr. Floyd Miller
@@raygu1818 Thank you Eyeballin very much. That was my first album with Slave! I co wrote Steppen out with the Fellas' ....it was recorded at 5'th floor studios in Cincinatti Ohio. That was a LOT of fun singing with Danny Webster. I took Steve Arringtons' place after the Visions of Light album.
Mr. Foote, there's not one single day day that goes by that I don't listen to something by SLAVE...I sincerely mean that! I have EVERYTHING that you guys have made...people tease me (well the youngsters)...but they don't know GREAT MUSIC nor REAL TALENT!!! Thank you for making such a musical impression on my life!!!

The original group did a show in New york at the palladium during their Showtime album. Does anyone have that show on tape. Sorry watching that show and listening to any other so call Slave bands you would shake your head. Like posted below Their will never Be another funk Band like slave. Steve Arrington is not just slave Steve had 2 good / ok albums after slave but they were not funky as bad enuff new plateau unchained at last make believe after the hall of fame albums his albums crossed over went commercial and were weak having no funk at all

I don't know who this lead vocalist was, but he gave a VERY RESPECTABLE performance. Back-up vocalists were just "okay." They just needed a bit more rehearsal to work out their vocal parts & harmonies.
This is not Slave. This is a tribute band trying to call themselves Slave. Mark Adams, Mark Hicks and Danny Webster have all passed. Steve Arrington and Floyd Miller are doing their own thing. So I ask who’s in the band.

The bass line of the song "Just A Touch Of Love" is the reason why I'm a bass player to this day. Mark Adams was a one-of-a-kind bass player.
Unfortunately, this performance is very polished at
all.
@@mybassistight Well there were two separate Slave camps at that time cause the other had Danny Webster and Mark Adams in it
Ooh and the group with Mark and Danny was also tighter too
Yeah, Drac screwed up the intro ‘Watching You’ . How do you go on stage and not have your gear ready for the first song.?

They started off with the roots of their inspiration "Cosmic Slop" by Parliament/Funkadelics. Long live "SLAVE"!!!!!
Weak At The Knees was a Steve Arrington hit after he left Slave. The fact that they're singing it is an homage to him.
