Aside from any "trend", it's actually true that any of these things can affect our mood and behaviour. It doesn't mean we should give in to them or act powerless over them, but it's legitimate. We are animals, we are all big kids trying our best, and we are all inside of a complicated imperfect body. Being well adjusted means overcoming these types of triggers as best we can. We're not toddlers anymore so we get more of a choice in our actions, but there are so many things that can affect our mood and behaviour. And perhaps if you're comfortable with someone, maybe you're more likely to give in to these feelings because you feel you can be "yourself". To deny that hunger or sleep deprivation doesn't affect one's mood is just untrue. We just get to decide how to handle it. Possible Unpopular Opinion: As a woman who has gone through the typical menstruation experience, I agree that hormone fluctuations, and other discomforts can cause you to be sensitive or overly emotional, however, it's never an excuse to have a rude attitude or act like an a -hole to someone. I suffer from hormone disbalance and PMS hits me hard. However, I'm an adult and I realise that it's my hormones causing me stress. So worst case scenario I just cry by myself and if I'm mad I ride my bike until I can't freaking breath from exhaustion. Then I'm good. Your feelings are valid and you can feel a certain way but putting that on people is behaving like a child. PMS is no excuse for toxic and that comes from someone who is really affected by it

Totally agree! The guy I’m dating right now asks if I’m on my period or hungry before things get heated and with a lot of understanding. I’m also able to ask him the same things (like does he feel emasculated by something, is he hungry, is something going on outside of this like in school/work, etc.). Because we check in with one another before arguments start, we prevent a majority of our fights and we both become more aware of our emotional triggers, how to regulate our own emotions, and how to address one another’s needs. It’s really beautiful when it’s done right. The important thing is to remember that the person you’re with loves you, so they wouldn’t say anything to intentionally belittle your issues (and if they do, you need to work on communication or leave).

I know someone who was married for 2 years(together 6 years total), I'll call her A. A's friend told her she thought she saw something with the A's husband and another woman(sneaky flirting). So A did check her husband's phone when he left the room and sure enough him and the woman had sent erotic texts to each other and were making plans to get together sexually physically(which would result in each cheating on their partners). A confronted her husband and they "worked it out". Oh and during all this, he and A were trying to get pregnant and she became pregnant. To me he is scummy. It goes both ways. Your man needs to EARN your trust first. In other women’s relationships, their man gives them reasons to doubt. That’s why they feel the need to check their partner’s phone. Here’s an anecdote that I know will probably get ignored: I get really bad PMS and I used to be completely unaware of it, but since being in a long term relationship I’ve learned that the week right before my period, I get extremely moody/emotional/depressed. I only began to recognize this because I’m mainly opening up to my boyfriend about my feelings, and because of this he always ends up seeing the worst of it. Whenever it comes around, I always feel super embarrassed and apologetic for my behavior/conversations from that week. It’s embarrassing to the point that I want to get hormone treatment so HE doesn’t have to deal with that anymore. Point is: if you’re a loving person in a good relationship, you’d want your partner to be aware of what’s going on with your body and hormones so THEY don’t feel like it’s their fault you’re acting that way. It is not their fault. Take responsibility for your body. Just because your emotions run rampant doesn’t mean you can’t take responsibility for them and TRY to control that shit.
Very well said. I have Endometriosis. I only get my cycle one to three times a year but when it comes, it is agony and a deluge of hormones. It's extremely difficult to control and I never know when it's coming.....however if I get out of control, I take responsibility for it. Pain makes everyone react in ways they shouldn't and hurt people hurt people....so men can understand if they want to. Love also covers a multitude of sins.

Possible Unpopular Opinion: As a woman who has gone through the typical menstruation experience, I agree that hormone fluctuations, and other discomforts can cause you to be sensitive or overly emotional, however, it's never an excuse to have a rude attitude or act like an a -hole to someone. I hate when women use their period to act like a jerk!
I suffer from hormone disbalance and PMS hits me hard. However, I'm an adult and I realise that it's my hormones causing me stress. So worst case scenario I just cry by myself and if I'm mad I ride my bike until I can't freaking breath from exhaustion. Then I'm good. Your feelings are valid and you can feel a certain way but putting that on people is behaving like a child. PMS is no excuse for toxic and that comes from someone who is really affected by it

Totally agree! The guy I’m dating right now asks if I’m on my period or hungry before things get heated and with a lot of understanding. I’m also able to ask him the same things (like does he feel emasculated by something, is he hungry, is something going on outside of this like in school/work, etc.). Because we check in with one another before arguments start, we prevent a majority of our fights and we both become more aware of our emotional triggers, how to regulate our own emotions, and how to address one another’s needs. It’s really beautiful when it’s done right. The important thing is to remember that the person you’re with loves you, so they wouldn’t say anything to intentionally belittle your issues (and if they do, you need to work on communication or leave).

It goes both ways. Your man needs to EARN your trust first. In other women’s relationships, their man gives them reasons to doubt. That’s why they feel the need to check their partner’s phone. I get really bad PMS and I used to be completely unaware of it, but since being in a long term relationship I’ve learned that the week right before my period, I get extremely moody/emotional/depressed. I only began to recognize this because I’m mainly opening up to my boyfriend about my feelings, and because of this he always ends up seeing the worst of it. Whenever it comes around, I always feel super embarrassed and apologetic for my behavior/conversations from that week. It’s embarrassing to the point that I want to get hormone treatment so HE doesn’t have to deal with that anymore.
Point is: if you’re a loving person in a good relationship, you’d want your partner to be aware of what’s going on with your body and hormones so THEY don’t feel like it’s their fault you’re acting that way. It is not their fault. Take responsibility for your body. Just because your emotions run rampant doesn’t mean you can’t take responsibility for them and TRY to control that shit.

Very well said. I have Endometriosis. I only get my cycle one to three times a year but when it comes, it is agony and a deluge of hormones. It's extremely difficult to control and I never know when it's coming.....however if I get out of control, I take responsibility for it. Pain makes everyone react in ways they shouldn't and hurt people hurt people....so men can understand if they want to. Love also covers a multitude of sins.

pucs82 when we talk about men and relationships they don’t blame him for everything and make a bunch of stupid excuses for being irrational. We realize when we are getting over emotional and are able to take a deep breath and understand it’s just our hormones and PMS and it’s better to back away. Women who talk like the ones from the video usually do the same thing (being over emotional not acknowledging it and not backing away or sincerely apologizing) to their friends too at least from my experience.
