    Your plants are lovely!!!
Thanks for the tip about drainage and lavender not liking “wet feet”! I just purchased two French Lavender plants and the instructions read to keep the soil moist, so I most likely would have watered them too much!

Neat to see some strategies for growing lavender in spite of the humid environment here.

I always liked 'Hidcote' cause it held it's color so long after drying, but that 'Royal Velvet' is dang-near BLACK... WONDERFUL!

The lavender plants I buy in the Spring at the box stores do not overwinter in my zone 7. Have to replant each Spring.

warp9p65, I live in zone 4, and still here lavender overwinters successfully with coverage. Though my outdoors planted lavender is only angustifolia, French and Spanish lavenders would never survive. I think this plant is really much hardier than we imagine.

I know this was a long time ago but... Small plants are stronger and might survive better than seeds. However, lavender does not like a lot of water or high humidity so it probably does not grow well in the Philippines.
