The crazy thing is that Nergigante was presumably killed before Shara reveals itself, and was completely buried under the sand... Yet he just bursts out from dozens of meters worth of sand if not more, slams into Shara and starts eating at it, and all Shara can do is try to get up and scream in terror before Nergigante just breaks its skull and neck in.

@@ericwest881 Ruiner is canonically told to be the top of the ecosystem of Expedition-Monsters (so no special monsters such as Shara, Zorah, Safi, Alatreon or Fatalis) in the lorebook so even tho a Deviljho or Rajang may try, a Ruiner still wins them in stamina as unlike the other two who gets stronger in bursts Ruiner can maintain a steady power level thanks to it's regen.
I love how Ruiner Nergigante in this cutscene maintains all the injuries dealt to it when you previously fought. Mine had both its arms and neck broken and was a walking mess and still kicked ass. It was amazing.

Nergigante's plan, being him a nature equalizer, was to drive Zorah Magdaros inside the Everstream to blow him up there and kill Xeno'jiiva, since he didn't think at all the consequences. After he saw that Zorah was driven off at sea, he headed in the Elder's Recess to finish the job himself but, being him the Eater Of The Elders, all the other Elder Dragons ran away scared, messing up the ecosystem. So the first time, no matter how good was what he wanted to do, he had to be stopped. After killing Shara, facing Ruiner was absolutely unnecessary (lorewise).
Dino Rex well as I found out not to long ago “APPARENTLY” all the elders we hunt with the exception of elder like Xeno and Shara, we don’t actually kill. We capture them for research. All the other monsters we kill, but the elders we are just supposed to be capturing. Not sure how we are carving shit out of a monster and it still be alive but you know, screw logic lol.

They could have just kept it caged or trapped in the base and then released it.
No you picked the bones from its back...and they can regrow easily if you didn't notice before.. the nergigante faked its death so you allow it to have a meal. It was all planned by this fool. You could notice very early that something was off with it just after the end of its fight as you couldn't get its own materials , but just generic ones.... and it had half of the hp of the shara...
This cutscene was incredible, and made me truly respect Nergigante. He's nature's way of balancing out the Elder Dragons. What an incredible monster. I also love how seamlessly the theme changes from Shara to AT Nergigante. Capcom, you are freaking AMAZING. Keep up the awesome work!

They even made a red dragon. I think world's more than enough proof that they wanna make new threats and don't wanna keep on relying on the black dragons anymore. The MH verse is a fantasy world where all kinda monsters and batshit insane stuff existing. A monster who acts like godzilla, can reproduce asexually and still having a gender is the least weirdest thing out there. It just adds up to the lore that there are so many different monsters with unique biologies out there that we still haven't found

This is what I’ve been trying to get people to understand but they seem to refuse to get it. Nerg may not have flashy world ending powers he’s capable of killing even the most powerful of elders because that’s what’s he’s evolved to do, through Insane physical strength that as even stated in lore is far greater then even significantly larger monsters, and his tough skin and spikes that can rapidly heal when damaged. Glad this DLC actually demonstrated this for those who kept arguing with me when the original game came out that there was no way Nerg could Kill Xeno.

Yo neegigante is really something else, i thought the gore magala / shaguru magala was the most interesting elder dragon but the nergigante (the power elder dragon of anger) is the most respectful creature ive ever seen, he isnt mindless , hes fearless and uses his instincts so well he monitors the eco system and takes out major threats, tbh we’ve honestly worked together woth nergigante on a few occasion tbh without us and him we wouldnt have gotten far(story wise) he helped with zora damage, as well deliver the finishin blow to shara both huhe threats, one could say hes just usin instinct to eat or hunt but i say it goes as far as sensing when your enviornemnt is challenged, you gotta act
Man I still remember the fight with the Rusted Kushala Daora at the end of MH4U, with the Ace Hunter as actual NPCs helping you in the fight. It felt so epic, that's a thing they should bring back for some story missions

Here’s something interesting: contrary to popular belief, Shara’s eyes *don’t* track the camera. His eye sockets are just concave in shape and he has orbs for eyes, so it looks like they follow you. If you look at Shara’s model in the game’s files, you’ll see that. This is known as the Hollow-Face Illusion.

Because of that scene, my head canon is that I never killed Nergigante. He and I fought again with him as Ruiner Nergigante and me as Master Rank Hunter. And even though I manage to beat him and he manages to beat me, we don't kill each other out of mutual respect and sheer enjoyment of fighting against each other.
The details in this game is that in the cutscene he stills have the same injury thet you inflicted when fighting him. If you broke his horn, it's remains in the cutscenes. My second playthrough i didn't broke it and its fine in the cutscene
Finally beat Shara yesterday with a lot of help of some super-skilled Hammer-wielding Korean guy who answered the SOS I sent out during the Ruiner fight. Thanks, Korean with a Hammer!
Nergigante isn’t just a big brute, he’s smart too! He waited for his chance against Shara, then the hunters arrived and he had to change his strategy. He let the hunters win and fight Shara, then ambushed Shara after the hunters weakened him. Heck, he even gave them a glare that clearly said “I could eat all of you, but you helped me so I’ll let you live. For now.” And then left. If that’s not intelligence then I guess I’m not sure what intelligence is
The Crazy thing is that nergigante is basically stronger than shara ishvalda due to him killing it in around 3 seconds due to pumping all its blood to its head killing it snapping its neck in and as @jasonalcatraz said all shara could do is scream in terrir before nergigante killed it in seconds unlike us nergigante in ruiner is 10x stronger than xeno jiva
You forgett Shara Ishvalda was already mortally wounded by the Hunter. All Nergigante did was finish a weakend, already half dead Monster. Nergigante is not as strong as you think.

You could clearly see that something was off and that you didn't kill the og monster as soon as you carve it because you could simply not be able to get its materials. Meaning it was never dead. How long are we all gonna undermine this dude ? Been 4 yrs bruh. Dude was tryna find shara way before we got to the island and the fact that shara showed up right after he died and grabbed his body proves that he was hiding from him. Dude even buried him 6 feet under under lots of boulders to make sure he's dead dead and he was already injured from fighting us. Even with all the regen he got he wasn't healing under all that pressure and despite that, he still got the kill. Just admit it, nergigante's here to stay

There are other Monsters too that beat elder dragons that aren't elder dragons themself (Magnamalo, Scorned Magnamala, Espinas, Flaming Espinas, Rajang, Furious Rajang, Akantor, Ukanlos). He could have attacked Shara before the hunter weakened it alot. I don't see what Nergi (Ruiner)could do against a full health armored Shara Ishvalda.

Shara was being hunted by Nergigante and hid. The developers pretty much admitted that Nergigante feeds on Shara. He chose to avoid having to ight both you and Shara and just played dead. Yes, Nergigante can kill Shara.
People use this cutscene to say nergigante is like one of the strongest elders. I am sorry but, nergigante consistently preys on the wounded(teostra in the lunastra cutscene and the shara you beat the shit out of), the elderly (most new world elders are migrants who are just old as dirt living out their final days also zorah who's so old he's DYING), the weak(kushala and teostra are also somewhat low tier elders). Nergigante is awesome but clearly he doesn't pick fights he knows that he will actually die from outside of the new world it's possible he may lose outright to some of the ones he would win in the new world because of younger healthier individuals. His physiology to fight and use the bioenergy of elders is pretty cool though also his armor design is metal as heck though. Nergigante is a tactical dragon smarter than he looks but not as tough as people make him out to be he likely uses some form of rudimentary intellect despite being a physical powerhouse after all you need to be smart if you exclusively eat elder dragons.
A grown nerg means it ate elders to get big. The nergigante in story literally was hunting teostra lunastra before hunter. Shara hid cause nerg was hunting him stop and just admit lore

No it wasn’t. Shara roaring showed it was enraged which is a monsters most powerful state. Also killing elders is literally all Nerg does, and it was there hunting Shara in the first place. That’s why shara was hiding when we first show up.

Remember that Nergi was also severely weakened here. Beaten senseless by a hunter, several parts of its body carved out and buried under thousands of tons of rock. Yet he still manages to bust out like a badass and completely eviscerate Shara.
Personal Theory: Elder Dragons are intelligent, and know when their environments are in Danger. This includes one such as Velkhana. I believe the one we fight in the Story, that traveled to the Elder's Recess went there to amass more power to fight Shara, unintentionally aiding Nergigante had we have been absent from these events, think about it: Shara in his Rock Armor state is weakest to ice. If Nergi and Velkhana teamed up, Velkhana could freeze parts of its armor for Nergi to crush easier, as it would be difficult for him to do it with his strength alone. They both being as intelligent as they are would realize, "The enemy of my enemy is my ally" and set aside their differences to take out the ecological disaster that is Shara. BUT We as Hunters said, "OONGA BOONGA" And killed Velkhana lol. We pissed it off by intervening with It at the Elder's recess, thus making it believe we were a threat as well as Shara. That one specifically prbly has had past encounters with Hunters too, ((Most likely the Members who came to Hoarfrost before us)) which would explain why it came for us at the Stronghold, to thwart us as we did to it. So that goes to show that Elder Dragons are also capable of being Petty *AF* 🤣
Wasn’t it confirmed by Capcom that all elder dragons possess some level of human intelligence, which explains why traps don’t affect them. So you are right and they can be petty af, since I dealt with a Teostra that would just stagger me then run away cuz I flinch shot it.
nergigante is nature's way of keeping elder dragons in check, however nergigante cant beat everything alone plus they are as rare as other elder dragons hence why the job of the hunters is important to keep the balance

Alatreon feared Xeno enough to seek its nest and itself is an unstable nuke, then we have dragons killing everything in a sea (Dire Miralis) and the one on top...the one every monster runs from Fatty Boi. Also seemed like Fatalis wanted smoke with Xeno, he also melteddd a castle in front of us. Also the hints towards immortality in the black dragon family, im sorry but we "old fans" aren't threatened by a threat that doesn't exist. Nerg dog just eats lesser elders who still could pose a threat, that's why he ambushes lol. He also gets lucky with going after weakened elders, whether from hunters or other fights the elders were in. Fatalis, Xeno, Alatreon, Ukanlos, Akantor, Kulve Taroth hell even Shara are examples of monsters who don't need to ambush at all lol, and their abilities are way above subpar. They are what we would call top of the tier list. Nergigante is not sieging a castle overnight, wiping out humanity in the process and making it its home. Not a hater but yea I'm prideful enough to defend the gen that started my journey..MHFU, happy hunting

Here’s something interesting: contrary to popular belief, Shara’s eyes *don’t* track the camera. His eye sockets are just concave in shape and he has orbs for eyes, so it looks like they follow you. If you look at Shara’s model in the game’s files, you’ll see that.

Because of that scene, my head canon is that I never killed Nergigante. He and I fought again with him as Ruiner Nergigante and me as Master Rank Hunter. And even though I manage to beat him and he manages to beat me, we don't kill each other out of mutual respect and sheer enjoyment of fighting against each other.
The details in this game is that in the cutscene he stills have the same injury thet you inflicted when fighting him. If you broke his horn, it's remains in the cutscenes. My second playthrough i didn't broke it and its fine in the cutscene

The Crazy thing is that nergigante is basically stronger than shara ishvalda due to him killing it in around 3 seconds due to pumping all its blood to its head killing it snapping its neck in and as @jasonalcatraz said all shara could do is scream in terrir before nergigante killed it in seconds unlike us nergigante in ruiner is 10x stronger than xeno jiva

No , not at all. It is smart though. Patiently waited for the hunter to do all the work, so it can finally fight it with more than fair chances and kill it easily in order to have its chunk. That's the way this thing hunts, as it is no match for its preys if they are able to properly fight back ...

You could clearly see that something was off and that you didn't kill the og monster as soon as you carve it because you could simply not be able to get its materials. Meaning it was never dead. Just waited for its prey to be weak before fighting it without effort. That's the typical hunting technique of the nergigante, the vulture of monster hunters.

How long are we all gonna undermine this dude ? Been 4 yrs bruh. Dude was tryna find shara way before we got to the island and the fact that shara showed up right after he died and grabbed his body proves that he was hiding from him. Dude even buried him 6 feet under under lots of boulders to make sure he's dead dead and he was already injured from fighting us. Even with all the regen he got he wasn't healing under all that pressure and despite that, he still got the kill. Just admit it, nergigante's here to stay
@@AratakiBullPowerSiddo1 Nergigante (Ruiner) beating elder dragons isn't special. There are other Monsters too that beat elder dragons that aren't elder dragons themself (Magnamalo, Scorned Magnamala, Espinas, Flaming Espinas, Rajang, Furious Rajang, Akantor, Ukanlos).
He could have attacked Shara before the hunter weakened it alot. I don't see what Nergi (Ruiner)could do against a full health armored Shara Ishvalda.

Shara was being hunted by Nergigante and hid. The developers pretty much admitted that Nergigante feeds on Shara. He chose to avoid having to ight both you and Shara and just played dead. Yes, Nergigante can kill Shara.

People use this cutscene to say nergigante is like one of the strongest elders. I am sorry but, nergigante consistently preys on the wounded(teostra in the lunastra cutscene and the shara you beat the shit out of), the elderly (most new world elders are migrants who are just old as dirt living out their final days also zorah who's so old he's DYING), the weak(kushala and teostra are also somewhat low tier elders). Nergigante is awesome but clearly he doesn't pick fights he knows that he will actually die from outside of the new world it's possible he may lose outright to some of the ones he would win in the new world because of younger healthier individuals. His physiology to fight and use the bioenergy of elders is pretty cool though also his armor design is metal as heck though. Nergigante is a tactical dragon smarter than he looks but not as tough as people make him out to be he likely uses some form of rudimentary intellect despite being a physical powerhouse after all you need to be smart if you exclusively eat elder dragons.
A grown nerg means it ate elders to get big. The nergigante in story literally was hunting teostra lunastra before hunter.

No it wasn’t. Shara roaring showed it was enraged which is a monsters most powerful state. Also killing elders is literally all Nerg does, and it was there hunting Shara in the first place. That’s why shara was hiding when we first show up.

Personal Theory: Elder Dragons are intelligent, and know when their environments are in Danger. This includes one such as Velkhana. I believe the one we fight in the Story, that traveled to the Elder's Recess went there to amass more power to fight Shara, unintentionally aiding Nergigante had we have been absent from these events, think about it: Shara in his Rock Armor state is weakest to ice. If Nergi and Velkhana teamed up, Velkhana could freeze parts of its armor for Nergi to crush easier, as it would be difficult for him to do it with his strength alone. They both being as intelligent as they are would realize, "The enemy of my enemy is my ally" and set aside their differences to take out the ecological disaster that is Shara. BUT We as Hunters said, "OONGA BOONGA" And killed Velkhana lol.
We pissed it off by intervening with It at the Elder's recess, thus making it believe we were a threat as well as Shara. That one specifically prbly has had past encounters with Hunters too, ((Most likely the Members who came to Hoarfrost before us)) which would explain why it came for us at the Stronghold, to thwart us as we did to it. So that goes to show that Elder Dragons are also capable of being Petty *AF* 🤣

Wasn’t it confirmed by Capcom that all elder dragons possess some level of human intelligence, which explains why traps don’t affect them. So you are right and they can be petty af, since I dealt with a Teostra that would just stagger me then run away cuz I flinch shot it.
nergigante is nature's way of keeping elder dragons in check, however nergigante cant beat everything alone plus they are as rare as other elder dragons hence why the job of the hunters is important to keep the balance

Safi has a damn siege lol and absorbs the literal environment, also has a nuke also is tough literally tough as nails (obviously tougher). Alatreon feared Xeno enough to seek its nest and itself is an unstable nuke, then we have dragons killing everything in a sea (Dire Miralis) and the one on top...the one every monster runs from Fatty Boi. Also seemed like Fatalis wanted smoke with Xeno, he also melteddd a castle in front of us. Also the hints towards immortality in the black dragon family, im sorry but we "old fans" aren't threatened by a threat that doesn't exist. Nerg dog just eats lesser elders who still could pose a threat, that's why he ambushes lol. He also gets lucky with going after weakened elders, whether from hunters or other fights the elders were in. Fatalis, Xeno, Alatreon, Ukanlos, Akantor, Kulve Taroth hell even Shara are examples of monsters who don't need to ambush at all lol, and their abilities are way above subpar. They are what we would call top of the tier list. Nergigante is not sieging a castle overnight, wiping out humanity in the process and making it its home. Not a hater but yea I'm prideful enough to defend the gen that started my journey..MHFU, happy hunting
