- Water is necessary for life. While living Off-Grid it can be difficult to get water at times, now that we have a bigger rain catchment system up, hopefully this makes our Off-Grid Life easier. Join us as we set up a rain water harvesting system that will supply us with water for drinking, showering, cooking, and watering our gardens.

Your homestead is looking nice. And i would love, a new super sparrow water bottle.
I would leave the tote under the roof and put 2 elbows and direct the water into the tote,protect it from leves and debris.maybe raise the gutters and remove them for the winter snow.
Water catchment is imperative. I also use a couple shovels of composted poop in every hole when I plant. Pays off in the long run. I would love a water bottle.

I know this has been a while, but it made my heart sing to see the rain and to see you collect it immediately. Water is precious (say that like Gollum). We don't get that much rain here in Utah, so I know what it means.

Looking good! The more storage the better. With the valve on the bottom you could tie additional water totes together. Making more storage. 👍

Just remember to use a filter sock over your spout into your container. Noticed some debris in your gutter. Like your cover over your gutter. Will help with keeping out rubbish ❤😊

I’d recommend a pre flush diverter and a mesh screen for debris. Also a black cover to reduce algae growth.

Think about gutter screens to reduce leaves and other debris. You could also used a filter screen where the water enters the ibc tote. A good start, Good Luck!
