Thanks Tactic! Yeah, I could have probably done a few more movements you're right, maybe I can do another video sometime soon on more complicated moves.
Very nice! Foot sliding is the easiest to fix on my case, so plask. I was the most natural movement looking anyway. Btw have you tried the Nvidia omniverse version of tracking?
Are there any open-source solutions for this kind of tracking, decent or not? I mean something that doesn’t cap the amount of free seconds, so free but closed-source alternatives are also of interest.
Oh gosh I'm not sure to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if there was. If you get all your ducks in a row and are super efficient, the free 30 seconds can go a long way surprisingly but yeah if you're looking to play around and experiment it wouldn't be enough I don't think. Hopefully someone out there is making something!
The most hardest things to make (no VFX..) is to create a character or an environment by sculpting, modeling and create realistic sci-fi textures what a AI can't do. When you already have your character, I will say that you have achieved 95% of the work of the AI without counting the fact that you will be able to help her afterwards and also corrected it, next she just most understand what is a hand, foot... but you help her everytime. I think what AI can do today is crazy but it might be hard for her to do better even years later. With what i say i explain AI can rigging a chara and with motion capture copied & paste animation. But let’s not forget all the bugs they will cause and the moments when they won't be of any use.
I thing you should do this without a black mask and sunglasses. Clearly there is an issue with head position tracking. Otherwise this is an informative comparison.
@@RussellMidfield :) Also the head tilting may be due to mask, glasses and hat causing trouble in proper face recognition. As may the white knees impact the recognition system... The idea is to make a character look as an action hero after tracking... not before. :) lol just joking. Still a very helpful video.. The first one would be great if not for the feet sliding. Hope they fix it soon...
Haha yeah a Rokoko suit would be crazy. I thought these were pretty good all things considered. You can always clean the animations up too in Blender or other programs to make them even better.
@@RussellMidfield I found, on YT, a seemingly nice animation A.I. that smooths animation in between manually inputted poses, it's called "Cascadeur". Tho it's not like it would turn videos to mocap.
Hey ! Your videos are great when i’m looking for tools. Very informative and clear and un-biased. Really good work !
Thanks world! I'm glad they helped!
nice comparisons! super happy i didn't have to work this out for myself haha thank you!
Haha thanks Zoe! I'm glad it helped!
Man your channel is way too small for this quality, love it
Haha thanks Jager! It was fun making this one
So true!
Haha thanks Panda!
Excellent review. I always learn so much from your videos. Keep up the good work !!!
Thanks so much! 😊
The dance at the end was top notch
Haha thanks, really tried to get the neck into it
Perfect work to compare. May be a Real jump, and a 360 turn-over more, and you cover most of the gestures.

Oh not yet, I've seen really good things with Omniverse though, really powerful stuff! I'll have to try it out sometime soon.
@@RussellMidfield nice! I ll be waiting for it
What kind of camera are you using for the capture and do you have a camera you recommend?
I was using an old Canon 60D DSLR but any phone would be more than enough nowadays.
Great! could you add the new rokoko video mocap to the comparison?
Oh yeah good idea, I'll look into that!
nice work men thank s
Yeah no worries s! I hope it was helpful in some way
thanks
No worries Faith! Glad if it helped!

Very true! You make a lot of good points! The future will be interesting!
@@RussellMidfield hi, thanks, my comment was dupplicated by a glitch don't know why.
Yeah no worries, thanks for dropping by!
Why wearing baggy shorts and hoodie for your input? Camera can't see your kneecaps, hips or elbows. Good test of feet hands and head though.
I'm not very smart that's why haha. Incredibly stupid on my part, sorry!
Can these do lipsync as well?
Oh not sure, didn't try, but yeah maybe!
@@RussellMidfield ok

I guess monochrome black is a worst possible choice for any tracking. But thanks for the video!
Oh good point, I'm so dumb haha!

Loving the rapid AI progress.
Yeah it's pretty crazy what you can do now, and for free at home.
Anyone out there wanting to buy me a Rokoko suit xD
You reckon these A.I animations capture better than a "hacky" Xbox connect to blender?
Haha yeah a Rokoko suit would be crazy. I thought these were pretty good all things considered. You can always clean the animations up too in Blender or other programs to make them even better.
Is there a local solution? I'm not a huge fan of online services in the spying and prying era.
Oh gosh I'm not sure to be honest, I guess good ol fashion hand animating!

Ah good to know, thanks!
Plask is much better! Look at the palm motions
It's true, it's really good!
Ipisoft motion capture better any ai mocap
Nice!
These captures are all much less accurate than you’re saying they are.
Sad to see such enthusiasm for inaccurate results.
Yeah true sorry about that!
