  • Today we explore the expanded possibilities that we now have available by having introduced Cobalt Teal and making it our sole blue pigment for the blue hue in our primary color palette. On Monday we were drawn towards the rich blues and the blue-violets, yesterday it wall about the coolness that Cobalt Teal would provide in a painting about temperature contrast, and today we explore the very expressive options when partnering pinks and magentas with purples and blue-greens. It sounds dumb, but I feel like I'm discovering color for the first time, as if I'm a modernist painter in the making 120 yrs ago.

these are addictive... I've been binging them since early morning and I'm not sure what I'm enjoying more, the painting or the voice over? I'm so lucky to have access to such library

Otra fantástica semana. Esta paleta es casi la clásica paleta de impresión, no? Cyan, magenta, amarillo y negro (CMYK). Salvo que esas son todas tintas transparentes, y estos todos pigmentos opacos...

Message from teal country here (they're nesting on an island in the river that flows about a hundred yards from where I live; when I cross the bridge on foot, I can watch them from above without their seeing me) : painting may not cure disease but it has been scientifically proven to shorten hospital stays by nearly 20%. And those ''paintings'' were only reproductions. We both know how much more powerful original work is.

No single painting will save the world, but Painting itself will be a big part of it. The world is still insane, make no mistake about it. But, in the future when humanity is actually sane I think a big part of it will be almost everybody making some kind of art. Humans are natural born artists. This thing where most people never make any kind of art, can't even doodle or sketch something, anything, ever...that's going to be seen as really weird in the future.

P.S.: check out Dr. Bernie Siegel's books or his videos on You tube. He wanted to be a painter but ended up using art to heal (and scandalizing most of the medical community).
