Yes, Duffy clearly won round 1, but Nick easily won round 2 & round 3 was a 50/50. Decisions aren’t based on strike totals, they’re based on what happens in each 5 minute period.

We used to get Cain vs JDS on free fight night cards, Khabib on prelims, etc. Now you're getting cards headlined by Marcin Tybura and PPVs where people only care about one fight on the entire card. The modern UFC cares more about promoting Trump than the actual fights.

This might be the best press conference dana has held. not dana's biggest fan (it's complicated) but there are a lot of things he does and has done that are commendable to say the least. I like the fact he is sticking to his word and keeping the jones v miocic fight (even though there might be another one or two that could rival it). This is also about the only time I can remember hearing any of the media members push back against dana on anything. credit to, I think it was, Iole for telling dana he keeps talking over him/them. there needs to be much more of this at the pressers. well done to all on this one imo.

Something isn’t quite right here. There seems to be conflict of interest here with Danas constant support of Jones despite Dana himself previously feeling that Jones lost Reyes and also their being substantial ammount of logical evidence to validate Islams suitabIlity for the Pound 4 Pound status at present.
I feel Dana is really scared Jones will leave the UFC and go to the PFL to fight Ngannou. I feel that out of fear Dana is hyping Jon and cooperating with Jon by giving him the Stipe fight to have a better relationship with Jones at present to get him to sign up again with UFC. In reality Dana wants Jones re sign with the UFC and then for Jones to fight Aspinall in hope for Aspinall to beat Jones. So Aspinall gives Dana’s heavyweight division some new hype.
It seems that Dana’s in a tough situation here because there is a lot of incentive for Jones to leave the UFC because he will have fought out his contract and Jones can take boxing super fights like Ngannou and make huge amounts of money. With Jones leaving it will create a major power shift in the landscape of leading MMA promotions such as the PFL and ONE. Dana is literally on his knees trying his best to manipulate a way to get Jones to resign and stay in the UFC and fight Aspinall. They building Aspinall up and hyping him up in preparation to use him to preserve the credibility of the UFCs heavyweight division.
In some way all this doesn’t really seem much to do with Islam in but it’s got a lot to do with Dana’s beef with Ngannou and fear of Jones leaving and taking a lot of attention away from the UFC because everyone wanted to see the Jones vs Ngannou fight and Dana played hard with Ngannou which is why that fight didn’t happen in the UFC. Both Jones and Ngannou have been teasing the fight at PFL events and it will do a lot to raise the profile of the PFL as one of the leading MMA promotions. Jones may also get business partnership rights in his contract with the PFL the same way Ngannou did and also with having Jake Paul there brings an interesting dynamic aswell. Jake is still boxing and he’d be promoting the PFL there aswell.
Good for Kevin. You’re a man, don’t let another man talk to you like he’s your boss when he isn’t. Dana needs to realise what journalists jobs are sometimes and not all of them so a good job but some of them do
