I'm 11 and am really into face painting, I've done it at my school fairs etc. I'm currently saving up for some proper face painting, I used to use cheap facepaint from toy stores currently saving up for a face painting kit. Wish me luck!

Shawna...Thank you. Great ideas. I use a black computer rolling case to carry my paints and supplies. It saves my shoulder!

Aren't the Starblends easier to work with when they are in its original state, flat ad pressed down? I would think once you break it up it would be too loose. Just curious, please advise. Much appreciated 😊
Great idea on the glitter for lips.
This is great. I work in NYC and I can't lug a huge case around on the subway. The NY subway system is nearly all stairs and it's just hard to have anything too heavy or too big. I would have to make mine smaller than this, but it's still a great design.

Hello Shawna, new painter here. Could you please tell us what the colors are in the 2" + 2" squares are and also their brand names? This would be so very helpful. Love your set up, you have some splendid tips. Always trying to learn and grow!

I just scraped them into the pots with a clean spoon then just pressed down with a paper towel :) Hope that helps.
Hi Shawna.....I LOVE your kit. I am very ready to do this. Can you please give me some advise how to re-pot the paints? Specially the dry ones. Should I put in microwave to melt a bit? Spray whater and leave over night so they soften? Any advise would be greatly appretiated it !!! :-)
Yes, If they are dry wet them and let it soak in overnight then they should be soft enough to manipulate and de-pot.

What company are the metallic paints from??
They were mostly Fab. I do not use many shimmery cakes now though. I use mostly Kryolan.

I have just streamlined my kit and don't use as many paints anymore. I can blend 2 colors together to get a new color so I just have less to carry.

what are the actual dimensions of the containers? the link to the containerstore you provided, shows all kinds of containers. I really want to know the height (in cm if possible )

Hi I have a Ben Nye Professional Color Wheel i bought last year. I want to use it again but it has dried up. Does anyone know if there is a way to re-hydrate the Ben Nye professional color wheel. I am not sure if it is water or oil based or anything else but i really would love to find out how i can rehydrate my cream color wheel to face paint. Thank you so much in advance!

Hello there!! Thanks for your super informative video!! Could I ask you something? When you do your events, how many sponges do you take with you? Here were I live the Health Inspection wants me to use only new sponges when doing an event....I feel ill be only working to pay for sponges. What a waste!!
kareninahuerta wow! I understand 1 sponge per kid but, they can be washed and sanitized after the event.
Hi Shawna. How many brushes do you take on a job & how do you use them/ clean them during a job? There are tonnes of videos about cleaning brushes & sponges AFTER the job but I can't find any on how you use your brushes during a job. Anyone know of a video somewhere? Maybe you could do a video on that. Ty. MCC;)
I add a drop of brush bath to my rinse water so it's a simple cleaning system after each client. First rinse dirty water, second rinse brush bath and third rinse clean water.
Hi, Shawna! I have located the container store boxes and the laptop case, but could you tell me if the solid colored Fab paints are fragrance free? I am hyper sensitive to fragrance and can use only fragrance free products. If not, could you recommend brands that would pack well into these boxes that are fragrance free? Thanks!

Can you use regular art brushes from Joanne's or Michaels? I'm kinda lost. I don't want to buy expensive brushes for something I just do for fun. I don't buy expensive makeup brushes either. I only get those in Ipsy bags. LOL

Hi Shawna! Great video and thanks for the info. I am just getting started in Face painting. I see the brands you're using on the other comments, but when I look them up online they just come in little circle containers. Sorry if you already covered this - but what size are you getting in paints so that you can slab them into those square containers? Thank you!
Usually the 32gram pots fit perfectly
hi I have been painting for a while. but I find myself going for rainbow cakes and one strokes. what do you use the solid colors for? I usually just keep then inside my fatmax and only use them when I need to make more rainbow

Oooh lala! I have major kit envy right now! I'm a little OCD, but haven't figured out a great way to accommodate organization into my kit. You know, every brand uses different containers of different sizes! You definitely gave me some great ideas--I think I might consider depotting my face paints into square containers, too. That way, I can put them in order of shade! Squeel! Lol.
How often do you use gems? Do you charge more for designs using gems?

how do you keep brushes clean between kids? especially when you have long lines
I rinse clean each brush every time I use it. As long as you don't let the paint dry in your brushes they rinse really quickly. I also like Brush bath by sillyfarm

I spray alcohol on brushes after I clean them. I also spray over my cakes before I pack up my kit to kill any yuck that may have inadvertently found it's way into my paints.
