Hopefully they get better staff, my kids went to HISD schools for half the school year and it was the worst worst worst experience ever, elementary kids fighting and cursing like adults and middle school kids trying to fight adults making death threats to other students and their parents, going to school w BB guns, vaping inside the school asking people for a dollar to buy cigars smh 🤦🏽‍♀️ my kids will never go back to HISD

This may be the best thing to happen for education in Houston! Our kids deserve more than what they have been getting!

We know, what you mean is not about education is about control.

Did you know that the TEA even said the current Houston superintendent is doing a remarkable job and helping the schools, but then he said he’s going to fire him anyway because he wants a “fresh start“ and that’s the only reason. So they finally got someone in there that’s making really good changes, and all sudden they want to change things up again from the governors office. Do you think maybe they want to stealthily gut the public education system because they want to do a voucher system that the governor has been doing everything he can to pass but has not been able to succeed.

TEACHERS FAILED competency exams in Louisiana so many times they had to have the exam removed...

Good. I can teach English so why must I learn math, etc? I have two degrees in psychology… I don’t understand why we must know 5 subjects in depth, that are high school level while we just want to teach English to 3rd graders

Katy ISD needs to be investigated. A high school potentially has illegal activity in it’s band and band booster club as it relates to financial matters.

From who? The TEA is not about to teach any classes

How can you support some thing when they’re coming out and making massive changes, and it doesn’t matter if 100% of the students and 100% of the parents think it is destructive, they have no power to stop them.
I can’t help but think they’re trying to do what Governor Abbott has already admitted he wants to do and that is gut public education.

What ???? This has been in the making for years, YEARS. The leadership in H town needs to get on board with the goal to get to an A rating, but this will become a political game with people like shelia more focused on confusion than helping the childern

As a 30 year educator, I'm very excited about the leadership of Mike Miles! I truly believe he will make the necessary decisions and changes the children, parents, and teachers of HISD deserve. I can't wait to see them all succeed!!💯🙏🏻😇
