    ☝️🧐,, it took DECADES of poor management and lack of funding to get to this point. It will take Hundreds of millions and years to improve. There is no QUICK fix here. It will take time and lots of money

    5 years of failure is way too long. Where were these so called concerned parents when the school was belly up?

    Man I am heart broken and I live in Dallas. I am very concerned about elected officials getting removed by the capital. They aren’t even concerned about it looking political.

      Alot of minorities actually agree with the take over. People are really sick of having to drive to the outskirts for better schools

    They better not put Mike Miles in charge. I went to Dallas schools during his reign. He was terrible.

    I am here because this is being done by no good Superintendent of public instruction Ryan Walters in Oklahoma to Oklahoma's largest school district Tulsa. With the help from fellow Texan Matt Langston. The same shit is happening here in my city and it has to end! This is outrageous to say the least!!!! 😡

    I was RUN OFF as a teacher from a Houston school years ago! I was an AWARD WINNING MATH TEACHER, who was well liked by both students and parents. That didn’t matter because my principal was erratic but had a friend on the school board so she was allowed to act like a dictator. The real problem is sub standard leadership, so I’m on board with the takeover. Consequently, I have since won more awards since leaving!

    TEA please investigate Katy ISD for possible illegal student fee collection at a local high school. Ask Damon Archer, Fine Arts Director why he refuses to take action on it!!!!

      @@unforsakendefiance5125 km not talking about my kids , if the people won't educate their kids at home and expect them to be "good students " when they(the parents) don't even care how are they doing in their education , and you have drugs in schools , no respect for teachers anymore, no discipline....I guess the states have to interven to show them how it's done

      This is a classic example of “if you don’t discipline your kids, the cops will.” As a Republican who voted for Trump twice (not a TX resident) I just heard about this story and am on the fence.
      I think elected boards should be in power and the State should stay out of people’s business. However, there is such a failure on the part of HISD that it is criminal! These kids have been graduating without basic skill. Terrible.

      The take over rules were authored by Democrats lawmakers. Do you think Republicans want to fix this? You better thank the Democrats who wrote this law that is forcing Republicans to act

    • @iMatti00
      @iMatti00 11 месяцев назад

      What they do love is taking away democracy from people they don’t agree with them. And if they want to take over school district I don’t know that I have a huge problem with that. But there needs to be some way parents can exert control unless this is really just a way to attack a district that does not vote for the current governor so they can get public education. I watched over 15 hours, at minimum, of meetings with the new superintendent and school board meetings. There’s tons of shady crap going on. And no accountability is possible whatsoever. You could literally have 100% of parents want to fire the school board and they have no power whatsoever.
      I think voters often make the wrong decision, look at all the cult followers that believe Donald Trump is anything other than Hillary Clinton on steroids when it comes to pay for play corruption. But just because democracy often fails does it mean to do away with it, because even though democracy could be bad it’s better than all the other systems long-term.
