This is legit one of the most satisfying, epic wins in the Millionaire format's history. From the contestant confirming he knows the answer before it comes up, and furthering his knowledge by dropping it before the choices come up, the audience's gasps and reactions, and the host legit acting like a kid finding out they opened a new game console on Christmas morning... Moments like this is why Millionaire exists.
Jeremy Maggs, we grew up with him being one of our top radio /TV presenters.. All our presenters had to be anchor material those days.. In the late 70s..we were spoiled with quality British English... Nowadays its much more relaxed and just another job not journalists 👍
kind of sad for him since in Europe, they actually win 1 Million Euros, which would be 18980050.00 Rand. I wonder if the questions may be easier on this show
I remember sitting with my family in Zimbabwe watching this as a kid back then.

It's around 40,000 pounds or 50,000 euro
Interesting to note-- South Africa was the second country to get a jackpot winner; US was the first, of course.

we don't know that
but back then, in 2000, a million rand would equal about £125,000 ($187,000).
R 1 million was probably about $ 100 000
$ 66 000.00 😢
One million rand equals around fifty thousand euro.

What’s with the weird M in millionaire
The logo of the pay tv channel of M-Net has a flowing, tapestry M, which they incorporated into the game show title
the guy only took a few seconds on the last question.
$ 1,000,000
White South Africa was a lot more English then.
