The Glasgow Slow Club runs every Tuesday, showcasing the best acoustic and folk in Scotland.
In 2012, we ran the first Slow Fest, a celebration of the finest artists we've had over the years. Featuring the likes of Frightened Rabbit, The Twilight Sad and Admiral Fallow, we're pretty sure it was the best three days of free music Glasgow has ever seen.

I get so emotional every time he backs away from the mic and just lets the audience sing his own words for him. I hope in those moments he was able to glimpse just how much he meant to us. Love and miss you more than you know, Scott

Scott was such a fucking sweetheart. Starts singing the backup vocal harmony and gives the audience the lead. Too good and beautiful a soul to exist on this earth. Every single time I see old shows of his, tears force their way out of me. I'm sad -- I'm mad, I'm goddamn devastated at the loss of Scott Hutchinson, and one year has done little to nothing to change that. The void Scott left is felt by every heart in every room wherever his music can be heard. Goddamnit, Scott, we miss the hell out of you.
For fuck sake, take Marcus Mumford. Give me back Scott.

6 years today. miss you scott.
Born in 89, I was introduced to FR by a random stranger I met on my 21st birthday on a casino lobby couch. We spent 10 hours talking and then went back to our lives. That is how Frightened Rabbit music always has felt- like a sudden connection of dots, a spark in the darkness brought forth by tension and trust.
A couple years later, a friend offered me a ticket to a sold out Josh Ritter show, an artist I'd never heard of at the time. I had NO IDEA that Scott, lead singer of my favorite band, would be doing an acoustic opener, and it will forever remain one of the most beautiful "coincidences" I've ever experienced. It was the night I realized I wasn't Catholic anymore because mid-set I turned to my friend and said "we need more of this kind of worship and fewer churches." When I saw FR proper a year later, every song echoed with the resonance of that intimate, vulnerable acoustic set.
Everything Scott did reverberated like that. May we see him Floating in the Forth, a reminder that the river of life and death empty into the same basin, for all eternity.
R.I.P. You beautiful man you felt you had to leave so you opened the door and walked through it.
But your music is so pure and honest the legacy of your music you have left behind is immense you were a beautful soul.
But you are now singing on a higher plane and I am sure that the Angels will love it as we have.

Stumbled across this video again. From a selfish point of view I wished he'd carried on writing bangers like this, however I wish he'd just chosen to live a quiet life in peace. Who knows what was in his head apart from brilliance and sweetness. He made so many people ecstatically happy from his music and words.

Also, this is one of the absolute greatest experiences in music, I believe, when you can catch somebody you love in a tiny spot like this where it's incredibly intimate and just spend an hr or two so close to the person/band just belting out the lyrics to those songs just like you have in your car 10,000 times. It just doesn't get any better/more fun and there's a weird but awesome kinship w/ all the ppl you don't know who are doing the exact same thing.
