i graduated in 1980, i did not take an SAT test my senior year, as I had moved from Indiana, to Arkansas. In Indiana I seem to remember taking an SAT test as a Freshman, Sophomore, and a Junior. I admit I did poorly in class, I knew I could graduate with D's and C's. But I always surprised the teachers by scoring very high on the SAT. The main thing I remember about the SAT is, the instructions said "Wrong answers count against you, if you do not know the answer, do not guess. Answer all the questions you know the answers to, then go back and carefully read the question, and then answer it if you are sure you understand and know the answer. By following those instructions, I scored very well.

For me it was difficult but that’s because I didn’t study or prepare. I scored I think an 1110? Something around that. Not a great score but I’m sure if I studied and prepared, I could’ve gotten much higher. As long as you work hard and are determined, it’ll seem easy to you because you know the material

The PSAT is what you need to aim for mainly if you want to apply for that program. The ACT is for graduation for high school, in which I just took it last week. Good luck with your future tests.

You need to look up “selection index” for your state from previous years and you can do an estimate of what you will need. It’s not actually based on the total score, they double the reading/writing score so it counts twice as much.

for our school the only diff between soph and jr is that their is another text for jr
as a sophomore you don’t qualify for the national merit scholarship. if that’s what you’re going for, you’re going to have to wait until junior year.
