Me watching this the night before the PSAT bc my school gave us less than two weeks of warning
Your school did you dirty, but there's still hope
FR THO T^T
(For my school, the PSAT is optional for both Sophomores and Juniors but you have to sign up yourself but they didn't give a clear date T^T)
i literally am in the same situation, they gave me like one and a half weeks, so like i am sitting here the night before and trying to get at least a better score that my last PSAT score 😭
SAME
me rn but im a sophomore so I have some time
I am literally watching this the night before my PSAT as we literally got news of the test so late. And as a sophomore, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I truly appreciate your tips and will use them to my advantage when testing!!!
I also have it tomorrow, good luck
YOU GOT THIS!!!
Heyy I take it tomorrow! How was it?
@@zena2182 It went super well for me!!! I was able to finish all my questions and I studied over the material beforehand, but these tips were life savers for sure!!!!
@@avigaillaing Thank youu!!! And your video helped me so much, I was more confident when I did the test and used your tips, thank you truly!!!
I just got a 1470 on the PSAT in 9th grade. Thank you!
Congratulations!!! 🥳🥳
Wonderful video! Loved the point you made at 8:22 about the fact that answers must be verifiable from the text in itself in order for it to be objectively considered correct.
Thank you!
Literally forgot that I had a PSAT and its in a week and I'm so so nervous because I put off studying for later and kept procrastinating lol. Your video is helping me a lot.
this is by far one of the most helpful videos i've seen, i can't tell you how much i appreciate this. you are a literal life-saver. and i don't know what it is exactly but something about your energy is so inspiring. thank you so much
You are so sweet, thank you!!! Good luck with your tests 🤍🤍
talk about an underrated yt channel, this video was absolutely incredible and i'm so grateful i came across it! thank you so much avigail
Awwww, thank you!! That means so much to me, good luck on your PSAT!! 🤍
@@avigaillaing thank you!!
Great video for the students preparing for the exam...really honest tips from the one who aced it
You are saving my life 🙏🏾🥹 thank you so much. I am taking PSAT next Wednesday and English it’s not my first language 😭😭😭 I am still learning, but I will do more than my best because I had the best tips 😚
Me too gng
Wow, I'm so impressed by your work ethic! I'm sure you're going to crush it, all the best to you!
Im so glad for this video, im studying at the last minute because my school told me about the psat 2 days before😭
PRAY FOR ME MY PSAT IS TOMORROW AND I PUT OFF STUDYING UNTIL LAST MINUTE 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Praying for you
Same mine is in a week
Mine is in less than 2 hours 😩✋
Congrats on your perfect score Avigail!! Going to use this vid to help others! You are AWESOME! Yes awesome is in All Caps! Have a great day. Do you have insight on the new PSAT that is on computer? Asking for a friend lol😁
Loved this video so much! It was a great help. What was your schedule like in terms of studying? Like when would you go to certain topics and drill them down? After you go over mistakes or like after a few tests?
I'd always take a test, then check to see what I missed, and drill down those areas! Then, when I take the next test, I could see if I had actually improved on those areas!
I lost all my previous notes so now I’m going into this test with faith
God's got you. I believe in you 🤍
Thanks best friend 😭🙏🏽
this year freshman are able to take psat and I want to do really well so thanks for the tips 😅
You can crush it, I believe in you! Good for you starting so early!
i have it tomorrow and im watching this at 12 am
Hope it went well!!
Loved this video… I’m taking psat soon and really want to do well on it. Just a quick question though: for ACT, would you recommend the Princeton Review book or the official ACT book for a better score?
The official ACT book has better practice tests, I would recommend getting the "Red Book" (which is the official ACT prep book) and using it along with the "Black Book," which I reference in my ACT prep video.
If you're talking about the PSAT though, the Princeton Review book will prepare you just fine!
I'm starting to study the day before the PSAT lol. WIsh me luck!
Edit: Just took a practice test on Bluebook and got a 1520! Hopefully I can recreate that score tomorrow.
Me tooooo 😭
How did it go?@@yellow_rose-
@@Seb._. honestly god knows 😭
On the second part of the math I had like 5 questions left with only 3 minutes-
And they were the bull crap questions too- the ones with the hundred variables and stuff
I ended up getting one of them and just guessed for the others. They are definitely wrong 😑
The one I did end up doing I changed 4 times during the last ten seconds-
How was yours?
@@yellow_rose- sorry for the late reply but I think I did pretty good. I finished all the math but I know I messed up a vocabulary problem in the English section. hopefully there's like a curve on the test 🤞
@@Seb._. don’t worry you probably did well-
Honestly yeah I hope there’s a curve too 😭
PSAT Tomorrow, didn’t study at all and just watched this video before bed… I’ll update comment with my score. I got a perfect sore in math last year but my writing and reading were bad. Let’s hope for this year 🤞
EDIT:
1410
I suck at English 💀
Took it… have to wait 2 weeks now. Feeling pretty good!
Wishing you all the best!!
Just got scores back
1410
@@devoidsloth Wow, pretty good! Congrats! 😊🙌
tks girl!!!
Taking it tomorrow! Wish me luck. I will update.
Good luck! I believe in you.
Another tip! Cross off all the answers you know are wrong, so that the answers you have left you can cross off one by one, and also make sure it’s the correct one by checking the text/question! 😊
Great tip!
Here the day before my test 💀💀💀
Fr 😭
damn u got some outstanding work ethic that no human could compare (are u an alien?)
Yes. 👽
god bless your soul
What AP did u take that you didnt use a prep book for?
I'm taking the DPSAT in 6 days and I unfortunately don't have a lot of time everyday to study for it (I have an insane amount of homework) but it seems like taking as many practice tests and going through uncomfortable concepts is the move? I'm going to do the bluebook practice ones because its the most similar to the real thing. I've been doing some khan academy already and it's helping me see where I need to improve. But I'm getting very stressed because I'm missing a lot of the advanced questions for both reading and math. Maybe I shouldn't be focusing a lot on the advanced ones since they will be more rare but I'm still unsure since the test is "adaptive" so what if I get a bunch of advanced questions? I really should've started earlier :(
It will be okay. Just drill, drill, drill, especially the things that you don't know. Make sure that you have exposure, at the very least, to every topic that will be on the math. If you don't know something, just learn the formula and do a few practice problems. It makes a big difference, you don't have to be perfect at everything, but at least having a vague idea of everything on the test will help. 🤍
@@avigaillaing I will try that, thank you.
my test is literally tomorrow and i wasnt notified about having to take the psat since last friday. So if you could imagine i only had 5 days to practice... but i want to know what would happen if i failed the psat this year, would i be able to take it again during my senior year? and if i passed that one would i still be able awarded scholarships? idk if im making sense rn :( please help
I think junior year is the only year you can qualify for scholarships! My top advice to you is to drill all of the math formulas and prepare for that as best you can. Reading/English skills take a while to sharpen, but you can improve your math score with a few hours of focus!
thankfully im good at math so i guess i shouldnt worry too much but are the formulas included in the test or would i have to memorize them?@@avigaillaing
Wish me luck on my PSAT it gonna be in 6 days for me
Hey I really need your help !! my exams are 10 days away and I have no idea what to prepare , I am studying 11 th grade can you please list the topics that I should go through in MATHS please !!
This link will tell you everything you need to review for the math section! satsuite.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt/whats-on-the-test/math/overview#:~:text=The%20Math%20section%20of%20the,analysis%2C%20and%20geometry%20and%20trigonometry.
Not sure if you’ll reply to this but it’s worth trying. I recently ordered the Princeton review psat book. How do you suggest I started? My psat takes place in April, do I start now? And if I start practising now, how should I start??
if you have the Princeton Review book, I suggest just going through the whole thing cover to cover! start with the practice test though so that you can see what you need to improve on
How long did It take for you to go through the entire PSAT book? My test is about a month from today, and I'm wondering how worthwhile it would be for me to try buying a book with only this much time left.
Not that long! Maybe a week at most, a lot of the concepts in there are just review. Once you do one or two problems for a concept, you can move to the next section if you're crunched on time. I was worried about timing too, but I pulled through and got it done in no time! Definitely worth it to get the book, in my opinion.
Well it's been a month, how did you do?
ive just had so many personal stressed and struggles and i am not st all prepared for this saturday 😭 (2 days from now)
You probably did great! You at least tried to study, which is more than many people can say!
I have a PSAT in two days and definitely using ur advice thank u
You got this!!!
@@avigaillaing ahh thank youuu
I should have studied more but like im in 8th grade so ill take it again right?
you will! i’m in 8th grade too i’m taking it today😭
Junior year is the year it counts for scholarships! You have a while, you got it!
My school told us abt the psat like less than a week, I’m watching the night b4, give me luck😭
(Manifesting good score!!!)
Hope you did amazing!! 🤍
if i'm at a 1380, is it possible to get national merit if i have a few weeks left
If you study hard, yes! You aren't too far from a qualifying score, just go hard with the practice questions and you can 100% do it!
@@avigaillaingwhat is the qualifying score?
@@heyimgalaxy It's different for every state! Look up your state's National Merit Selection Index and you should be able to get a rough idea of what score you need to get!
Hi.. I am not familiar with the test system in USA.. my son is in 7 th grade now.. in this video you have talked about some test that you had given in 7 th grade and got 31 what was that test? TIA
It was the ACT! I took it through the Duke TIP program.
Thank you
Just finished the PSAT, I’m going to be stressing about it until I get my score back 😭
I'm sure you did great!
i got a 1010 😭(500 reading / 510 math)
wow, while i'm sure this is helpful to people, this is such a prime example of what is so wrong with achievement culture. prepping for the act as a 7th grader shouldn't be something to be proud of.
Absolutely not, I was blessed to have the opportunity to take it at a young age. It's beautiful that we have so many learning opportunities in America.
my school told me about the psat 4 days ahead 😔😔
Nooooo 😞
I’m about to take mine in one hour😭
Good luck!
31 as a 7th grader is crazy 😭😭
🌝
Bro my school gave me like three days advanced notice
They did you dirty
@@avigaillaing for real they also didn't even give us like any info nobody knew where they were supposed to go.
i take it in 2 hours😛😀😟
Hope it went well!!!
PLEASE PRAY FOR ME IM TAKING IT TOMORROW
We’re all in this together 🎵
Praying for you, you got this! 🤍
not me watching this the morning of:
😂
