Some properties of liquids, such as boiling point and vapor pressure, are directly related to the intermolecular forces present between its molecules. The stronger these forces, the lower the rate of evaporation and the lower the vapor pressure. This connection between the strength of the attractive
forces and physical properties also applies to solids and gases.
