Whether you like bayverse or not, there’s no denying that the 07 movie was one of, if not the most important thing to ever happen to Transformers and made it as mainstream and popular as it is today

My biggest memory of Transformers in 2007 was just how excruciatingly difficult it was to get any toys of the characters that were in the movie. Besides characters that weren't in the movie or fodder in the video game (I saw Swindle and Payload in droves warming the pegs at the Targets and Toys R Us' at the time), there was no way I could get a piece of the characters I loved from the movie. My only figure from the movie was in the All-Spark repaints, and it was the Stealth Bumblebee repaint of his Concept Camaro figure. Let's just say there was a reason I stuck with Bionicle during this time.

07 Movie Prime is a great figure. ROTF Leader Prime gets a ton of love that people forget about this one. I feel it's one of the most overlooked Prime figures because people praised ROTF Prime so much it got a bad reputation. Sure, he has "chunk" but he completely makes it work.

Yeah, the Leader class Optimus Prime is certainly one of the best, I still got him in my collection. But the ROTF is the superior all the way. I brought out the Wreckage figure when you were talking about it, he is pretty cool and easy enough to transform. In retrospect, though I was wowed by Transformers 2007, it's not a great movie (naturally). But the toys were surprisingly solid, for the most part. Wreckage is my favorite of this year. Absolutely a banger. I'm not the biggest fan of Ratchet's design but I do have to give the figure props, it's got a neat transformation. ROTF is where I bought the most of my movie toys though.

I'm glad you thought Ironhide was fun because he was honestly one of my least favorite toys from the 07 movie line. whenever I tried to do the automorph in the feet I would have to guide multiple parts at once to avoid stripping the gears, the chest would never stay up, and the clear plastic windshield very quickly wore out. Also, the instructions showed the cannon with the missiles being removed and placed on the front of the cannon with the plungers, but it was actually easier to fire them if you did the opposite; remove the cannon with the plungers and place it on the back of the cannon with the missiles so that you had more clearance for your fingers, which of course the kibble got in the way of and any attempt to launch them would cause the chest to fall.

This was a crazy year. I owned six of those (if you count the Hot Spot repaint of Titanium OP). I think I agree on the top spot, that was just such an amazing figure. I think I'd add Blackout to the bottom of the list. While it was somewhat messy, that look was just so unique, definitely the best new movie design. However, I've long since sold off all of them as I got tired of the movie look. I kind of regret selling that Soundwave, but I really didn't need him anymore after I got the Masterpiece.

I liked the Darth Vader Death Star at the time, but I feel like they could have turned more of the shell into a cape. I also feel that they could have gotten away with a different color for the Death Star mode, even a light grey would have matched the Darth Vader mode better than white and off-white.

My top 10 list for 2007. Going to be nice to some movie toys now.
    10. Predator Attack Team: I almost included the other Mini-con teams as well but I didn't have room for all of them and this was the most interesting since we had never gotten beast Mini-cons up until this point.
    9. Arcee: The movie design I WISH we had gotten after seeing how much worse the ROTF design got. I probably would have put her higher if there wasn't also a BETTER Arcee design in the Bumblebee movie and Rise of the Beasts.
    8. Barricade and Frenzy: If it wasn't for the ugly head design I would actually like Barricade as he comes the closest to looking like he can actually transform.
    7. Longarm: As a sort of toy only character, his vehicle mode does actually appear in the movie but it's not an actual Autobot, the robot got to be completely made up by the toy line and looks better than any of the actual movie designs as a result of that freedom. I only put him this low because the design is a bit boring.
    6. Jazz: How he appears in the movie I don't like at all but for some reason when rendered as a toy he looks so much better to me. I think it's because with the exception of front bumper/grill becomming his chest the rest of the vehicle mode just completely vanishes in the CGI model but obviously as a toy that has to actually be able to transform he actually has kibble which makes him look more like an actual Transformer. There's also versions of this painted in G1 colors that makes all the molded details really shine in ways that the original all grey robot just doesn't so that helps too.
    5. Wreckage: The movie toy that I have said for years is what Megatron in the movie should have looked like. This guy looks more like Megatron than the actual Megatron does. He had the bucket helmet, he has the same color scheme, and you can mount the weapons on his arm like a fusion cannon. The actual Megatron toy, not on my list because not only is it an ugly design, it's also just a terrible figure that is a pain to transform. Wreckage is actually a good toy.
    4. Classics Cliffjumper: I have this mold as Bumblebee, I don't understand calling it "Classics" when it's not but it is a decent homage. Though the jet ski jet pack will not actually clip in on my version, it just kind of loosely hangs there but will fall off if I turn the figure upside down.
    3. Protoform Optimus Prime: I didn't include the leader because I didn't want to have 2 Optimus Primes on the same list and there are better versions of his original truck mode that would be released later on. The Protoform though is still a pretty fun toy and it's even better in the G1 colored repaint that would come out years later.
    2. Masterpiece Starscream: I have this mold as Skywarp. I love this figure. It probably should be number 1 but my bias is about to show when I tell you what number 1 is...
    1. War Within The Fallen: The only Titanium figure I will ever defend and put on a top 10 list. This toy is what first introduced me to the Fallen because I never read the Comics, I didn't know what War Within was. I loved the design though. I actually passed on this guy originally dude to not having any money at the time but I regretted not getting him so much I eventually went back and bought one off e-bay. Not only do I love the design of the character but this is the first time I ever KEPT THE BOX because I love the box art of this figure. I turned it into a display stand which you can actually see in several videos on my RUclips channel. I've use it as Dark Mite's throne room and a TARDIS interrior. This is really a personal bias thing here. I'd understand if it's not your number 1 but I've had a lot of fun with this figure and his freaking box. He is still displayed on the box to this day. I think this might even be my favorite figure in my entire collection I love the design that much. This is the reason it irritates me so much whenever modern versions of the character forget that he's suppose to be constantly on fire. I usually don't buy 3rd Party but I've seriously considered getting a Chaos Paladin for their take on this design.
I will admit one flaw... the treads are on a double hinge and are suppose to be able to fold up onto his back in robot mode but those hinges are too loose, there's no tabs to actually secure those pannels in place, so they just kind of hang there making having those joints entirely pointless. They aren't even the diecast parts, actually this is one of the few Titanium figures where the die cast isn't weighing down on stress barring joints so it's actually a relatively safe figure compared to other Titanium releases. And now that I've gushed about how much I love this figure we can go back to pretending Titanium doesn't exist cause nothing else in that toy line is ever going to be worth talking about.

I am not, in general, a fan of the movie aesthetic, but the original movie toys were generally good -- some really nice designs and the designers hadn't quite gotten obsessed with complexity and panels yet.
Ratchet is really nice. He's a nice, straightforward chunk. My only problem with him is that he doesn't have a gun.
Wreckage is absolutely fantastic. He's a character/design we REALLY need to see again. He's also designed and proportioned mostly like a G1 or Unicron trilogy bot.
I didn't care for Alternators on the whole, but that Ravage is one I actually do regret not getting, but budget at the time was stretched tight and didn't allow it.
2007 is a really nice Optimus. I know most people will say the Revenge of the Fallen one is better -- and it's certainly less kibbly, but the trade up in complexity doesn't make it worth it.

Wreckage benefits from not having to worry about the movie designs, as I'm not a fan of the movie designs. Bonecrusher's hands I'm not a fan of.
The only other one I have from this list is Death Star Vader, thanks to a friend from ATT sending me a few figures after I got sick the next year (I didn't come across one or couldn't afford it). It was a pain at first but once I figured out how to transform it I do enjoy both modes. He works with Unicron and Cybertron, but I didn't know about the mini ships connecting to the Death Star mode. Mine also came with a gold painted version of the Micromachines TIE Fighter and Millenium Falcon, which sit on my computer desk. I think it was a store exclusive addition.

My main problem with the original Bonecrusher was he was too small (a problem Blackout also shared, though he at least was a Voyager).
In the movie he was around the same size as Prime so it always felt weird that he only got a Deluxe, until of course many years later with Studio Series (as well as MPM).
