വിദ്യഭ്യാസം ആരോഗ്യം മുതലായ സൂചികകളിൽ കേരളം മുന്നിലാണ് എന്ന കാരണം പറഞ്ഞ് കേരളമടക്കമുള്ള ദക്ഷിണേന്ത്യൻ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾക്ക് ലഭിക്കേണ്ട വിഹിതം വെട്ടിക്കുറച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ് കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാർ.
ആരോഗ്യവും വിദ്യഭ്യസവുമെന്നത് റെയിലും റോഡും വീടും പോലെ വൻതുക മുടക്കി ഒരിക്കൽ നിർമിച്ചാൽ പിന്നീട് അഞ്ച് വർഷം കൂടുമ്പോൾ അറ്റകുറ്റ പണി ചെയ്ത് നിലനിർത്താവുന്നതല്ല.
ഒരോ മാസവും അദ്യാപകർക്കും ഡോക്ടർമാർക്കും നഴ്സുമാർക്കും നൽകുന്ന ശമ്പളവും രോഗികൾക്ക് നൽകുന്ന മരുന്നിനും മറ്റു സേവനങ്ങൾക്കുമെല്ലാമായി വൻ തോതിൽ പണം മുടക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.
ഇതിനെല്ലാം പണം ചിലവാക്കുന്നത് കുറഞ്ഞാൽ കേരളം വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിലും ആരോഗ്യമേഖലയിലും ഉത്തരേന്ത്യൻ നിലവാരത്തിലെത്തും.
സൂചികയിൽ മുമ്പിലായ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾക്ക് പണം നൽകാതിരിക്കുന്നത് പത്തംഗ കുടുംബത്തിലെ മൂന്ന് പേർക്ക് നല്ല ആരോഗ്യമുണ്ട് എന്ന കാരണം പറഞ്ഞ് അവർക്ക് കൊടുക്കുന്ന ഭക്ഷണം വെട്ടിക്കുറക്കുന്നതിന് തുല്യമാണ്.
ഭക്ഷണം ലഭിച്ചാലല്ലേ ആരോഗ്യം നിലനിർത്താനാവൂ ?

- ഇടതുപക്ഷത്തിനുള്ള ആത്മാർത്ഥത വലതു പക്ഷത്തിനില്ല. ഇതാണ് യഥാർത്ഥ പ്രശ്നം. വലതുപക്ഷത്തിന് ബോണ്ടിലാണ് കണ്ണ് - ഇടതുപക്ഷം കേരളത്തിലെ ജനങ്ങളുടെ ജീവിതം മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്തുകയാണ് ഏക ലക്ഷ്യം. അത് വലതുപക്ഷം ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നില്ല. 107500 കോടി കേരളത്തിന് കേന്ദ്രം തരാനുണ്ട്. അത് വലതുപക്ഷം സമ്മതിക്കില്ല. ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല. ഇക്കാര്യം വലതു മാദ്ധ്യമങ്ങളും കോലീബി കളും അവലംബിക്കുന്ന സംസ്ഥാന വിരുദ്ധ സമീപനം കാണിക്കുന്നു. സർക്കാർ ഇടതാണ് എന്നതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഇവരുടെ വിരുദ്ധ നയവും പ്രചരണവും - അതിനുള്ള ഉത്തരം ജനങ്ങൾ നൽകണം

This guy is delusional. Brainwashed beyond the point of no return. He's hoping against hope. He won't be able to pay salaries and pensions. It's only a matter of time. That's why he wants to remove the cap on borrowing limits and borrow unlimited amounts of money. All this will have to be repaid by the citizens of Kerala

@RKR1978 Even if Kerala is the "No:1 Kerala " as claimed, the point here is whether the state will be able to meet all its financial obligations including salaries, pensions and most importantly its interest payments. Based on the trajectory of its revenues and expenditures, it doesn't seem likely that it can. Hence the desperation to keep borrowing. As mentioned in my original comment, it is only a matter of time. Have a good day 😊

1. Even if Kerala is the
"No:1 Kerala " as claimed, (who claimed ..? NITI aayog .. is it an agency controlled by Kerala..!?)
2. the point
here is whether the state will be able
to meet all its financial obligations
including salaries, pensions and most
importantly its interest payments.(when Kerala government failed to pay salary and pension to Govt employees/Retd employees..? Don’t you see the indifferent attitude of Central Govt in financial matters..!?)
3. Based on the trajectory of its
revenues and expenditures, it doesn't
seem likely that it can. Hence the
desperation to keep borrowing. (Again same question, what are the other states who have better financial discipline than Kerala has..?)
4. As
mentioned in my original comment, it
is only a matter of time.(when the money borrowed by government is taken for revenue expenditure the state will fail to maintain the financial strength. If the funds are going for Capital expenditure creating assets the Capital assets will repay the debts - simple financial principle . That’s all. Awaiting the direct answer… bye.
@RKR1978 here are my thoughts on the numbered points raised by you
1. Who cares who has rated Kerala number one. There's a lot of subjectivity in these ratings and many people are not willing to accept them at face value. The point I raised is that Kerala has reached a point where it is unable to meet all its financial obligations.
2. You mention salaries and pensions. These have only been delayed so far but they will have to be restructured if the state government must carry on as a going concern. They have already defaulted on their obligations regarding school mid day meals, dues to farmers, welfare pension, KSRTC pension, welfare, dues to construction workers pending for 14 months, payments to universities (veterinary college in Thrissur mortgaged their land to pay expenses) SC, ST scholarship grants pending for over a year, RC books and Drivers License pending from last year. They have started collecting money from children to conduct exams. They have defaulted on the deposits of KTDFC since March 2023. These deposits were done with State government guarantee. In the high court the government claimed that the guarantee was not valid because the right procedure was not followed when the relevant government order was issued. How much more shameless can you get? It's actually a IPC section 420 case. And all this does not include the more than 25,000 crores that the state government owes private contractors and suppliers that are struggling (all local businesses providing jobs) in the state. And maybe you are aware of the situation of Supplyco. Hospitals participating in the health insurance schemes of the government are owed money to the tune of over a thousand crores and they have expressed their unwillingness to continue providing their services. The list goes on and on....
3.Again you start with your whataboutery? How does it matter if other states are behind? Can Kerala pay it's bills? By the way Kerala which used to have a 30 year advantage in lifespan and a 30% advantage in literacy have seen that lead reduced to less than 10 years and between 5% (Tamil Nadu, Karnataka) and 15% ( Eastern states) in literacy. By the time of the next census, the difference will be negligible.
3.Karnataka,Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Tamil Nadu all have far better financial discipline. Remember Kerala has been identified as one of the highly indebted and high risk states by the RBI. The state with one of the highest risk of default.
4. You have hit the nail on the head. If this borrowing was being used to create capital assets, the situation would not be so bad but it's universally acknowledged that the Kerala government borrowing is going towards day to day expenses and not for asset creation. They are digging their way into a debt trap with each new borrowing. Whether they will be able to pay the interest on their bonds when it comes up for payment in September is itself doubtful.
