This is my favorite song by Patty & Scandal. So much heart and feeling. This performance is perfect. On the record, it was a bit overproduced (WAY too much drum), but here, Patty walks the vocal tightrope between soft and tough like a champ! Wish she'd release some new music. Music today is worse off without a talent like hers.
that voice is insane ... incredibly good live recorded in an era where digital enhancement options were limited and tone deaf folks couldn't get record contracts
My favorite Scandal song also.A radio station in Dayton,Ohio played the whole Warrior album one night, when it first came out.I recorded it on a casette tape.I liked every song. But this soon became the one I liked best.
I was 14 when The Warrior hit it big on the charts. Best summer of my life. All these years later going back over their music finding songs I never heard before. It's great. Like this one. Did you know she is married to Johnnie Mac? One of the all time greats. He had a great year in 1984 as well.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. I ABSOLUTELY ADORE PATTY. VERY DYNAMIC. BEST VERSION OF SCANDAL HERE. KEITH MACK ON.GUITAR THOMMY PRICE IS A TREASURE- LOVE AND MISS HIM AT DRUMS.( NOW WITH JOAN JETT- ANOTHER SAPPHIRE)
MY PATTY IS THE BEST FOLLOWED HER OVER 39 YEARS. FOREVER HER FAN. I WILL ALWAYS WILL LIFT HER UP YOU HAVE A GREAT WIFE JOHN MCENROE. HOPE FELICIA AND I MEET YOU BOTH
So incredibly talented. Those memories come back; like it was yesterday of that love I felt when I heard her sing. She was a 10 in my book on top of singing perfectly. The band was perfect on top of it. I just always wanted more back then. Too bad more cds were not available of this band back in the early days; not enough tunes then to me. They were amazing.
This is a really good song. I've been on a You Tube safari all morning searching out her music trying to answer the question : Why didn't she reach superstardom in her era? The answer ; she was too good for the 80's
don't even think that pat benatar and neil geraldo didn't see this band and missy smyth do their thing.... it dates a little but patty really could sing her ass off. I miss the days when we all had coiffed haircuts that needed a lot of gel and hairspray :)
When I hear her sing like this I can't help but remember reading a review written by an airhead rock critic who described her as having a "husky" voice. I think he needs to have his ears cleaned. Her vocals are near perfect.
Autotune got nuthin”. Today? Far too often you don’t hear the singer, you hear autocorrected autotune voice. Sad. Two exceptions that I know, Amy Lee of Evanescence and Lzzy Hale of Halestorm.
We had a degenerate friend in our crew back in the early 80s....we called him Vern...the road weasle...he was always screwing up..but we loved him and looked after him...it's what we did back then.
Not a real fan of the band, but her voice. Similar to Ann Wilson of Heart. Scandal should have written all the songs around her voice, not guitar solos and stuff.

Her voice was amazing, sadly.

Patty Smythe and Scandal never got the credit they were due. They were incredibly great. They should have become much bigger than they became.
Man, does this ever take me back. Sad tear in my eye thinking about those times compared to now
Big crush! I always loved Patty. ❤❤❤🎶🎶⚘

I have thought they or her should be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Love Patty Smyth. She's such a beautiful and talented singer

Great song!
Brilliant
Journey should have asked her to join, when Steve Perry left the band, they would have had no limits with her voice and abilities ....
Just super.
Mis favoritos de los ‘80s
My love.
Best voice and singer, the two albums are great and I am far more of a metalhead, I just want the guitar turned up like on the album.
So good

Moose Doesn't Matter....I love this girl, but that sucked
Song for a degenerate friend??
