It’s common when I deliver sometimes I sit outside to adjust my gps and takes a while sometimes because I try to plan my routes properly for I make the best money and their food will be sitting on the porch even after I leave.

I deliver for one of these delivery companies and you will be amazed at how many people DON'T answer the door promptly. They know they got it because the app tells them yet the food will still be there fifteen minutes later. That just lends itself to being stolen by someone passing by.
That’s happened to me before. The app said you dasher is in the area. I was waiting. No one showed up. Then it said delivered. But no way i was in the window still watching. Apparently It was taken to another building in the same complex that had same unit number. Another time it did show up but the app was muffin up and it was sending delayed updates. So it sat out there a good while. Another time, I couldn’t get to the door fast enough. I’m disabled so it takes a little longer. But in the time the kind gentleman knocked & i made it to my door, a random person, apparently hungry, ran up & took my order. I will always be as understanding as i can. It’s not always the customer and many times it’s not the delivery fault. If i had a ring cam, I’d be scared to see what people do! My paranoia is bad enough without knowing! 😵💫 I hope you are blessed with amazing customers and generous tips!
I miss the days when we got mail safely dropped through a slot in our door in our city! No one knew if you were on vacation and could also not steal our mail. Progress is not always better.

I quit ordering from door dash etc. I live in a condo complex and it's gated and hard to find my condo so I go down to the gate and meet them. I had one driver with a dog in the car next to my food, and others with a car load of dirty kids. It was so disgusting. Sometimes the drivers themselves were so gross. I quit using them.

I roll a power chair because I have no legs below the knee, and I'm going to visit my kids, and stay with one of them. They have an apartment on the 2nd floor, but I'm going to have to chain my power chair up. You think I'm not going to use the biggest chain I can find, with a bulletproof lock?? I sure am, and my son in law is carrying, and a light sleeper...he'll stop whomever tries to steal my chair, because that person would need a powerful saw to get thru my chain. Trust no one!
If there was room, I'd have a strong box built that the chair could sit in (if you can't keep it in the home). Chain it up inside the box AND put a lock on the box.

I've seen this in Phoenix two decades ago before rind or apple phones so I haven't order food sense, but my wife makes better food than any food service available. Mushroom bacon burgers, fresh mouth watering BLTs with pan buttered Texas toast, her Mexican food that she learned to cook in Mexico is so good that Mexicans in Mexico asked her to cook for them. She's my boo and I thank God for her every day.

I kid you not, I'm skimming through DoorDash right now. 😆 I will say, I'm always here to greet the driver and I've only had one issue with "more likely than not" the driver taking half my order the ONE TIME I didn't greet the driver. All of our food has been inside un-opened containers that have a seal on it. But this certainly makes you wonder.... people can be absolutely barbaric. 🤢
I do DoorDash as a side job and over the past 2 months I’ve done 600 deliveries without a single instance of theft or damage to the food. I guarantee my car is cleaner than yours, and that my hands are cleaner than the restaurant workers you’re ordering from. I have a cooler for drinks, pizza bag, and regular hot bag which I keep clean with wet ones antibacterial wipes. I have a good 3-channel dash cam and DoorDash has you photograph every no-contact delivery and upload to the customer. Out of those 600 deliveries the worst that has happened was 2-3 times a restaurant forgot an item and DoorDash refunds the customer. This video should make drivers more aware of their own standards for food handling. Like, you probably shouldn’t be scratching your crotch fungus while delivering food.
people are just so casual with their food and groceries. How long do you leave your food on the porch? Who are you people? Uber tells you when your food arrives on your door. I’ve said it before. These cameras are useless if you aren’t willing to do the work. Get your food when it gets there. When your doorbell app alerts you believe someone is at your door. People are so complacent they don’t even look at the alerts no more. The criminals don’t even care about the cameras because they know people don’t look at the alerts.

I live in a boarding house(it's nicer then it sounds) a two door fob key security entries, to get into the building, locked mailboxes, and rooms where the doors shut slowly on their own and immediately lock. There are security cameras all around the building and inside the building. Unlike my other apartment that had no security cameras inside or outside the building and entry doors were unsecure. I had my car vandalized for years, broken into four times. I had package deliveries that were stolen. Not now. There are cameras everywhere and the most unbelievable entry system I've ever seen to get into a building. Manager who lives on site 24/7 has no trouble confronting the homeless people that try to get into the building and telling them to leave.

They provide cleaning supplies that are in a shelf in each bathroom, as well as rags and sanitized wipes, air fresheners for cleaning up after yourself in the bathroom and in the kitchen. A few years back they remodeled everything extending the walls by 6 in, the results of which each unit is very quiet you don't hear anyone else's talking or television. Each room has a mount on the wall for a television and they provide Wi-Fi. The fob key for the entryways, also accesses the laundry machines and a charges $4 for both a washer and dryer and you pay that at the end of the month with your rent. Living here is no different than living in a large house where everyone has their own room and they share the kitchen and the bathroom. The only difference is that you have to carry your food and dishes down to the kitchen to do your cooking. That is why on my desk I have a cutting board and I cut up all my food and put it together before going down to cook it up. My refrigerator isn't as large as what I'd like but I'm very happy with where I'm living. I stumbled upon this place because I was looking into renting a room from somebody in there home because the cost of rent has gone up so high. My decision was to try to find somebody who had a house not an apartment because if the apartment rent goes up my rent goes up. After I found this place, I have discovered there are so many places online besides Craigslist for people who own homes who are now looking for people to rent out a room from their house. There's a website called roomies.com as well as others where you can either just put down you how much you're willing to pay and have people contact you or you can contact them asking for information. When I found this place I realized that if I rent a room from somebody in their house if they're not happy with me they could ask me to leave. I discovered there are at least two other boarding houses in my large city of half a million and the cost for each one is about the same $700 a month and they provide a refrigerator in the room as well as kitchens and laundry facilities some of them even have a large living room area and Wi-Fi in your private room. The majority of all the people here are men, but I'm pleasantly surprised to have clean these men are because the rules are so strict with cleaning up after yourself. It's understandable that most women would want to have a bathroom and a kitchen of their own as well as being able to put their own food in the refrigerator in the kitchen and work for there. But I find that it is not that difficult and my room is large enough to store all the food that I need in the refrigerator and canned foods and I can prepare everything easily in my room and most the time I'm just using the microwave. I'm also pleasantly surprised because most of the people here are men there's no drama as would be with a lot of women. Most people keep to themselves and the interaction is generally around the kitchen area.

Unlike most apartment complexes where the manager leaves at 5:00 in the evening and if anything happens I can't get a hold of them here I simply can call him on the phone or go get down and knock on his door. To me it's comforting and reassuring knowing that I have access if needed to talk to the management. There is also a metal fence that surrounds the boarding house, that helps protect the people who have cars. And there's another feature that I just absolutely love. Live in Alaska and in the summertime we have sunlight all but 4 hours a day and dealing with sunlight and trying to sleep is a constant issue. This place provides blackout curtains that I've never been able to afford in all the rooms. I am absolutely thrilled that when I pull the blackout curtains there is no sunlight coming into my room and I'm sleeping better than I have in years. To me it's a parent that the owner seems to care about the tenants, whereas before in a place that was charging up to $1,200 for a single small one bedroom apartment I did not have this much consideration and thoughtfulness into my living conditions.

When I do food delivery, the customer has directions on where to put the food. Mostly its leave on porch or hand it to me. After we leave the food, we take a pic of the food thats on the porch and it gets sent to the phone number that is on the app the customer gives us. The app notifies the customer that the food is where they want it to be. Not the delivery persons fault the customer doesnt get it right away because we did our job. This video gives the honest delivery drivers a bad rap.
I have stopped feeling sorry for victims of porch pirates. Porch piracy is not a new concept anymore, so if you do not take precautions to protect yourself from it, you deserve to have your shit stolen.
The reason why the food is left by the door is because the customer request it to be! The reason why the delivery person did not knock or ring the door bell is because the customer did not tip!
You asked what I would do if that guy knocked on my door needing to use the phone… I’d tell him it would be OK, But first He would have to take off his clothes and leave them outside. Only once he was completely nude would I allow him to use my phone on the porch of course. I have a cordless but naturally since I live in the 21st-century I have no landline. It would just be fun to see how far he would go before he would realize That I was onto the fact that he wasn’t lost and didn’t need directions. I've seen this in Phoenix two decades ago before rind or apple phones so I haven't order food sense, but my wife makes better food than any food service available. Mushroom bacon burgers, fresh mouth watering BLTs with pan buttered Texas toast, her Mexican food that she learned to cook in Mexico is so good that Mexicans in Mexico asked her to cook for them. She's my boo and I thank God for her every day.

I kid you not, I'm skimming through DoorDash right now. 😆 I will say, I'm always here to greet the driver and I've only had one issue with "more likely than not" the driver taking half my order the ONE TIME I didn't greet the driver. All of our food has been inside un-opened containers that have a seal on it. But this certainly makes you wonder.... people can be absolutely barbaric. 🤢
I do DoorDash as a side job and over the past 2 months I’ve done 600 deliveries without a single instance of theft or damage to the food. I guarantee my car is cleaner than yours, and that my hands are cleaner than the restaurant workers you’re ordering from. I have a cooler for drinks, pizza bag, and regular hot bag which I keep clean with wet ones antibacterial wipes. I have a good 3-channel dash cam and DoorDash has you photograph every no-contact delivery and upload to the customer. Out of those 600 deliveries the worst that has happened was 2-3 times a restaurant forgot an item and DoorDash refunds the customer.
This video should make drivers more aware of their own standards for food handling. Like, you probably shouldn’t be scratching your crotch fungus while delivering food.

people are just so casual with their food and groceries. How long do you leave your food on the porch? Who are you people? Uber tells you when your food arrives on your door. I’ve said it before. These cameras are useless if you aren’t willing to do the work. Get your food when it gets there. When your doorbell app alerts you believe someone is at your door. People are so complacent they don’t even look at the alerts no more. The criminals don’t even care about the cameras because they know people don’t look at the alerts.

I live in a boarding house(it's nicer then it sounds) a two door fob key security entries, to get into the building, locked mailboxes, and rooms where the doors shut slowly on their own and immediately lock. There are security cameras all around the building and inside the building. Unlike my other apartment that had no security cameras inside or outside the building and entry doors were unsecure. I had my car vandalized for years, broken into four times. I had package deliveries that were stolen. Not now. There are cameras everywhere and the most unbelievable entry system I've ever seen to get into a building. Manager who lives on site 24/7 has no trouble confronting the homeless people that try to get into the building and telling them to leave.
He's a good landlord who cares about his tenants' safety.

There is a balcony outside three large windows on a second floor. The balcony can be accessed from an upstairs door. There is a laundry room for use of all the tenants. There are 15 tenants, two large kitchens with ovens and microwaves and three bathrooms. My room is large enough that I have a microwave and I'm considering getting a toaster oven and I have a coffee pot. They also provide a large single bed as well as a chair for the desk although I brought a recliner. The rent is $700 a month and it includes all utilities.
I have always avoided looking into such a place. But I was pleasantly surprised. The housekeeper has a room here and provides the cleaning of the bathroom and the kitchen and the main hall areas, but it's the responsibility of every tenant to clean up after themselves. They provide cleaning supplies that are in a shelf in each bathroom, as well as rags and sanitized wipes, air fresheners for cleaning up after yourself in the bathroom and in the kitchen.
A few years back they remodeled everything extending the walls by 6 in, the results of which each unit is very quiet you don't hear anyone else's talking or television. Each room has a mount on the wall for a television and they provide Wi-Fi. The fob key for the entryways, also accesses the laundry machines and a charges $4 for both a washer and dryer and you pay that at the end of the month with your rent.
Living here is no different than living in a large house where everyone has their own room and they share the kitchen and the bathroom. The only difference is that you have to carry your food and dishes down to the kitchen to do your cooking. That is why on my desk I have a cutting board and I cut up all my food and put it together before going down to cook it up. My refrigerator isn't as large as what I'd like but I'm very happy with where I'm living. I stumbled upon this place because I was looking into renting a room from somebody in there home because the cost of rent has gone up so high. My decision was to try to find somebody who had a house not an apartment because if the apartment rent goes up my rent goes up. After I found this place, I have discovered there are so many places online besides Craigslist for people who own homes who are now looking for people to rent out a room from their house. There's a website called roomies.com as well as others where you can either just put down you how much you're willing to pay and have people contact you or you can contact them asking for information. When I found this place I realized that if I rent a room from somebody in their house if they're not happy with me they could ask me to leave. I discovered there are at least two other boarding houses in my large city of half a million and the cost for each one is about the same $700 a month and they provide a refrigerator in the room as well as kitchens and laundry facilities some of them even have a large living room area and Wi-Fi in your private room. The majority of all the people here are men, but I'm pleasantly surprised to have clean these men are because the rules are so strict with cleaning up after yourself. It's understandable that most women would want to have a bathroom and a kitchen of their own as well as being able to put their own food in the refrigerator in the kitchen and work for there. But I find that it is not that difficult and my room is large enough to store all the food that I need in the refrigerator and canned foods and I can prepare everything easily in my room and most the time I'm just using the microwave. I'm also pleasantly surprised because most of the people here are men there's no drama as would be with a lot of women. Most people keep to themselves and the interaction is generally around the kitchen area.

Unlike most apartment complexes where the manager leaves at 5:00 in the evening and if anything happens I can't get a hold of them here I simply can call him on the phone or go get down and knock on his door. To me it's comforting and reassuring knowing that I have access if needed to talk to the management.
There is also a metal fence that surrounds the boarding house, that helps protect the people who have cars.
And there's another feature that I just absolutely love. Live in Alaska and in the summertime we have sunlight all but 4 hours a day and dealing with sunlight and trying to sleep is a constant issue. This place provides blackout curtains that I've never been able to afford in all the rooms. I am absolutely thrilled that when I pull the blackout curtains there is no sunlight coming into my room and I'm sleeping better than I have in years. To
me it's a parent that the owner seems to care about the tenants, whereas before in a place that was charging up to $1,200 for a single small one bedroom apartment I did not have this much consideration and thoughtfulness into my living conditions.

Always select "hand it to me" when u place an order, then be there to receive your food. Or else it's your fault what happens after it's delivered.
I guess I've lucked out so far, only issue I had with food delivery, was basically fighting a possum for my food.

When I do food delivery, the customer has directions on where to put the food. Mostly its leave on porch or hand it to me. After we leave the food, we take a pic of the food thats on the porch and it gets sent to the phone number that is on the app the customer gives us. The app notifies the customer that the food is where they want it to be. Not the delivery persons fault the customer doesnt get it right away because we did our job. This video gives the honest delivery drivers a bad rap.

You asked what I would do if that guy knocked on my door needing to use the phone… I’d tell him it would be OK, But first He would have to take off his clothes and leave them outside. Only once he was completely nude would I allow him to use my phone on the porch of course. I have a cordless but naturally since I live in the 21st-century I have no landline. It would just be fun to see how far he would go before he would realize That I was onto the fact that he wasn’t lost and didn’t need directions. I think it might actually be fun to Turn the tables and become the awkward aggressor in the moment. I guess if you watch enough of these doorbell videos in a row you start getting creative with the ways in which you deal with them.
