    How lucky are we that someone decided to record this. Especially when one of the most amazing licks was created at 4:41. Imagine a camera when the Beatles created their hits. This documentary should have been nominated for an Oscar.

      I know this is an older comment, but we don't have to imagine what it would be like to see the Beatles create some of their hits when Get Back releases tomorrow!

    The day Aerosmith died was when they sang DON'T WANNA MISS A Thing.
    Steven kept chasing the popular over produced ballad and the easy $$$.

    8:28 watching Joe just go unmovingly still whenever Steven comes over and touches him/ his stuff is priceless. The man had to nurture that patience very carefully. It reminds me of grumpy older dogs who just go still when they are touched by people they don't like as a way to signal the bite is coming if you don't sod off.

    "Pump" is the only Aerosmith album not recorded in the 70's which can be called a true classic. After this album, they had too many outside songwriters contributing, which seriously diluted the band's original spirit.

    • @primemcmanus
      @primemcmanus 7 лет назад +1

      Angelic Storm true the last good Aerosmith album IMO was get a grip even if it wasn't cohesive like pump. Nine Lives is where they lost me as the songs never had any hooks that could have you tap your foot to. None of their 21st century material has me either. I also don't know what Steve was doing when he did that country album of his

      Get a Grip was ok, too many ballads, but the thing about Aerosmith is they know how to make songs that will sound good live at a concert. While i don't like their later stuff it does translate well live. so they are smart in that regard. I still like 70's Aersosmith the best.

  • @rosekittygraykittyjackkitt9676
    @rosekittygraykittyjackkitt9676 4 года назад +1

    What I used to wonder is how anyone can go from a song like "Back in the Saddle", to the very generic and card bored sound of "Love in an Elevator' and "Jamie's got a Gun", and countless others to follow. I now know, but didnt back then. The original producers were far superior to that of the ones to follow. The first album, with the exception of Dream On, had such a raw and edgy feel, lots of texture like Write Me, Mama Kin, and Walkin' The Dog, even though the titles are perverted, I did not know any better, but loved the songs anyway. The producers were brilliant on this one and perhaps the few albums that followed, especially considering the material they had to put up with, but after that, it was never nearly as good. My guess is that the original producers got pissed off and walked out on the project, and it is no wonder why.
