This record gets so much hate, everyone is like “ItS HOrribe because they didn’t sTick to their roots” The fact is that we were still treated to new Aerosmith albums as the band was getting older is awesome . Y’all know Rocks and Just Push Play we’re almost 30 years apart right. Think about it Beyond Beautiful is a great opener Jaded is great, Light Inside is great, and I’ve always had a soft spot for Avant Garden and Fly Away from here!!
It has a couple of great songs on it but I think most of us old fans had enough of the pop, wall of sound, commercial film music they have been doing since Get A Grip. With so many co-writers they lost their originality in the 90s.
I’ve looked at this album for years as something from out of space and a very niche product of its time. 2001 was wild enough and Aerosmith produced something so different and wild that not everyone knew what to think or do with it. To me, that’s beautiful. It’s because like this cult album that has some die hard fans, myself included
Just Push Play is a juggernaut of a record! Beyond Beautiful is their best album opener since Hearts Done Time! The rhythmic complexities and melodic executions are out of this world!
One of my favorite Aerosmith albums... from start to finish just amazing. Such memorable vocal melodies and great guitar tones! I love that CD more today than I did when first released. Stays in my car at all times!!
At first when I checked out this album, I wasn't sold on it. But it's been a while since I updated the Aerosmith portion of my playlist, I think I'll have to give this one another go.
I LOATHED this album when it came out. The truck or car commercial that used this song pissed me off and I thought it was the end of Aerosmith. It took around 10 years for it to grow on me and now it is one of my favorite albums. Just Push Play is a testament of the times it was recorded. Over produced? Maybe, but I think that has more to do with the recording process and the mixing rather than the production. Overall this is a great album, IMHO. Just Push Play is a great song, tongue in cheek references reminds me of Walk this Way. Jaded...wow. Fly Away From Here is a beautiful song. Avant Garden, well, what more needs to be said. Like I said, it is one of my favorite albums of all time. I listen to it at least three times a week.

Seriously, who else get to call Steven Tyler “the friend that I always hang around with” His band mates were seriously fuckin lucky to have spent years , with him. You imagine hanging out in your 20’s growing changing. Then repeating it in n your 30’s . How many of us regular folk have friends for that long? Then even longer into your 40’s & 50’s. Common, band or not , if you’ve had people that you can still laugh with at that point in life, you are in a really small demographic.
Yes. They are a brotherhood of close friends (they've had some ups and downs) but really love each other. I also like how they have always split their profits 5 ways evenly. Nobody is better than another. Brad never gets enough Love in general, but they recognize they all contribute equally as a whole. (If that makes any sense)
2-3 good songs on it. It`s just too chaotic and feels half assed. Wasn`t Steven back on drugs doing this? I know they used a lot of time making it but it doesn`t sound like it. Too chaotic and no real red thread like on Pump and Get A Grip.
It's not soft, it's melodic but very hard rocking at the same time. Very polished and sophisticated. A few songs are overproduced but it was so ahead of its times. Think of muse and all those rap/rock band of The early 2000s...this came first.
Listening to it recently, I see how I used to go too hard on this one. Yeah, it's not their best, but it's far from their worst. At least it has a clear aim and goes for it. And I feel more energy here than in MFAD or even Get a Grip.
@@feveraeroelder Totally agre. GAG is really great because of the big ones the big hits but this album dont have those kind of big hits but all of the songs have a unique sound , that psicodelia in the lyrics and even the solos dont sound like any other band ..I think this album is so underrated
Worst Aerosmith record , even perry went on to say he didn't rate it,light Inside is good but that's it..this is what happens when they keep bringing in outside writers ,Aerosmith had well being brainwashed over the years, they ended up trying to be all things to everyone and forgetting they're a hard rock band with their roots in the blues, they should have done a record for themselves and stopped kissing John kalodners ass,fly away from here luv lies the title track ,trip hopping, really poor stuff.
Then why did Perry make the album? Don't he & Steven ultimately have control over the material? Why go through with writing, recording, releasing something you barely like at that point in your career?
@@GullibleMcFly well they choose to get outside writers in to get the songs together they've been doin that since they got sober,I suppose at the time of recording they think it sounds cool,I think they have two audience's one that like proper Aerosmith rock songs and another that likes dribble like I don't wanna miss a thing and fly away Frome here ,angel, that's probably why their records are all over the place, trying to be all things to everyone.its a pity but that's the way Aerosmith ended up being like.
@@leslierock5005 Even on the Making of Pump (which I guess really is their post-70's high point), Joe Perry called Permanent Vacation "a waste of plastic" (even though I think that album is way underrated as a whole). I guess they're gung ho about an album while they're making it but then it's the ol' hindsight is 20/20 thing.
@@GullibleMcFly yeah great point there about vacation there, anyway it's only my opinion most folks love the album,I don't really have the verbs to describe why I don't like something,it's either shite,ok ,or brilliant.

I do think it's overproduced (I'd love to hear more raw versions, esp of the title track) but there *are* some good songs on here.

That album blows my mind even now after all these years. What a masterpiece.

yeahhhh,,, i love this albums as well, not every track, but at least half of it is beyond amazing!

I bought this CD when I was a freshman in college and played it daily. Avant Garden is on of my favourite songs ever.
It’s actually one of my favourite Aerosmith records… very underrated.
Amazing! They are the best!🙏❤️❤️❤️
when people say "its overproduced" all theyre trying to say is "i dont know how music works so i dont know to listen"
Beautiful !!! From Uruguay!!!
Love behind the scenes stuff! The recording process!
Absolutely freakin amazing.

I love Steven Tyler of Aerosmith because Steven Tyler looks like a beautiful cat.
Oh my God, best gift tha you have give me! It was the Making Of that I hope so much! Thank you Thank youuu!
steven is over 50 here and his complexion is perfect.
what do you mean ?

One crazyiest song but I love dude
04:10 why does he look like he's mad or something lmao
Joe was not really a fan of this record he says so in his book. It's a good read
I listen to the first 2 tracks then eject it - absolutely shocking record! Was their worst until the last one.
can't decide between "done with mirrors" or this as their worst...do you agree?
Beyond beautiful was a good rocker off this album, but the title track and some others dated horribly
They lost a lot of what made them great when they switched to Digital.

The making of pump was great this is cool but unfortunately the end result is easily the worst aerosmith album
Pior álbum da banda.
Honestly it’s the best they’ve ever done
It was bad, no doubt, but they sounded great live during this period.
Weak and soft album
not their best, but theres a few really good ones
