He likes to develop a beat than put lyrics and vocals to it. So for the song Thursday he has a girl for everyday of the week but Thursday girl wants to see him more hence, "why you callin, it's not Thursday...... So about how he met BBL Drizzy...he had put a couple songs on SoundCloud to get exposure and was getting a lot of hype. Drake's manager told him about Abel. At first Drake brushed it off until he couldn't because Abel was poppin. Drake has his own label (OVO) so he gave him some exposure by letting him come out and do some songs at a few shows. Drake wanted to sign Abel but Abel declined to sign with Drake so Drake got pissed cause I guess he felt like Abel owed him for the exposure. Drake took 5-6 songs from Abel for his Take Care album too. 💀 There's a great video that explains it. When I find it I'll post the link. I've never liked Drake because of what he did to Abel but I can't stand Drake's voice either. Birds pt 1 was a warning she didn’t listen. Birds pt 2 was her regretting her choice and him blaming her for it 😂😂 had her on the floor begging. I have heard Abel's discography front and back far more times than I can remember and if you are consider the mixtapes as separate albums and not a culmination that forms the trilogy- Thursday is his best piece of work(mixtape/album) in my opinion. Now why do I say this? 1) Abel introduces storytelling in his albums/ mixtapes properly for the first time in Thursday. The switch from Birds Part 2(the girl kills herself) to Gone(where he has moved on to the next girl) is just impeccable. 2) Here he talks about the harshest realities of life that occur everywhere. He manages to present this tragedy from the perspective of the abuser which is something I believe we have not seen often. 3) This is definitely not darker than eos but Its brings the best of the rest two hob [in terms of storytelling(hob has the slightest storytelling if you follow the lyrics)] and eos(in terms of darkness). 4) Songs like Gone, Valerie and Thursday keep us in vain and songs like The Zone and Life of The Party are more vibey in nature(where the bass and productions enhance the listening experience). 5) The Vocal abilities on Valerie and Rolling Stone are some of the best in his discography. The message to his fans via Rolling stone(music video and lyrical content) 6) Gone is the most underrated song by Abel, nobody appreciates the atmosphere the production creates, the beat switch, the conviction he has in what he is singing(because apparently he was actually gone while recording this song). Would love to hear why any of his other albums/mixtapes are better because honestly I understand why others would choose another album.

Many songs from Thursday did not have their respective videos, with the exception of "Rolling Stone" and "The Zone". I recommend the latter because the dynamics of the song change after Drake's verse. "The Birds" had an interlude that never came to light, even on the album, which is a shame since it complements part 1 and part 2 very well. Not sure if you’ve gotten a this recommendation yet, but “Alone at Prom” by Tory Lanez is one of my all time favorite concept albums. It’s a very 80’s synth pop inspired album similar to Dawn FM. I personally think it’s even better than Dawn FM, and I’m saying that as one of Abel’s biggest fans. I definitely think you should check it out. I already know you would love it!
