I won once a national Championship U18 with 8.48 (I was 17) and I was perceived as a talent. I would have finished 130m behind Jakob, when Jakob was just 15. I finally made it to 7.52 as an adult (enough to win national titles in small countries). I won’t be surprised if Jakob will break the WR of 7.20
Yeah, it's just insane. When I was 14 I ran a 12:50 3000m (at the same stadium as in this video) (I ran a 10:12 4 years later) Our school record for that age was 10:07 And if I remember correctly, Ole Einar Bjørndalen (the Biathlon G.O.A.T.) ran a 9:15 when he was 14/15 (the year he turned 15) And Jakob did a 8:25 What a BEAST
Charles Thorndike My PB is 7.52 on a 3000m. Which is really not a bad time as an adult. When I was 14 I ran 4.29 (top 10 of my country back then) on a 1500m, which would be around 9.30-9.40 on a 3.000m. Jakob would have put me on one lap behind, if we were equal old and in the same race, and I was already one of the faster athletes of my country back then.
I might also add that I've only found three 14-year olds who have ever run faster than Jakob in the 3000m: 8:24.24 - Yuki Sato (JPN) 2001 8:21.22 - Chikashi Ikeda (JPN) 2012 8:24.93 - Luke Van Oudtshoorn (GBR) 2017 (Jakob could probably have gone faster than 8:25.90 in 2015. He only ran the 3000m (outdoors) once that year, and this win was a controlled one. With a faster pace and a high-level field of runners, I'd say he could've gone sub-8:20 without problems) edit: Jakob also ran 8:36.61 indoors, 5 months prior to this, which makes him the fastest 14-year old of all time in the 3000m indoors,(all nations included)
It means under 15. He ran with seniors in that race, but the G15 comes up because he broke the national record for that age group. The guy that came in a close second is 5 years older. Already at 12 he beat non professional, but still good adults runners. The second place in that race, could hardly belive he was beaten by a 12 year old. He felt less bad a few years later when he saw what kind of runner he turned out to be.
7:17.55 today. INCREDIBLE
It was hot that day too. More than 30 degrees Celsius. He could have been faster than that under normal conditions.
The carnage he leaves behind him is insane. Jakob has phenomenal metrics of VO2max and lactate threshold.
Love it, he does the same in a 5k he stalks and then he pounces at the right time! Absolutely amazing Jakob, look at you now🎉🫶

8:48 won a national title!!In which country or was it a tactical race?
@@artiesavage-swaine3523 With 16 and 17 year old competitors in a small country, 8.48 can easily be a winning time ;-)
@@jdevries5606 Wow, fair play how are you getting on now?
7.52 would be just a sec behind my country’s all time best
... and today he did! Good prediction!
2:02 last 800
1:53 last 800 for the 7:17.55 world record on 25th Aug. 2024, 9 years later.
I can't believe he ran 8:25 at 15 years old
14 actually. He didn't turn 15 until 3 months later.

I wonder if anything has become of the guy who was a close second
He is 5 years older than Jacob so no
Form has stayed the same throughout
The previous Norwegian record for that age group was 8:33.8
16th place finisher (Harald Østberg Amundsen) is now the best cross-country skier in the world
And now, 5 years later, he is 59 seconds faster.
Today 1:08 faster .WR 🎉🎉 7:17
9.86
But where stands it for ?
100m / 10 sec
360.000km / uur
Ik niet vind het terug
Life is dead nu gaan we verdwijnen
I am from Norway to like Jacob Ingebrigtsen
You are Viking ?
simo sahraoui you are a comedy king
The gap he closed to win this was ridiculous

Are they all 15 year olds, cz they tall!
This is senior race - winner Jakob Ingebrigtsen was 14 years old...
@@roargitlebrekke2032 I think G15 means "under 15 years old" not senior race... in a senior race a 14 years old boy couldn't win, even jakob ;-)
Pierre as you can see in the TITLE of the video it says MS which means Men Senior
@@roargitlebrekke2032 okay but sincerely the other runners don t look like men but very young men... No ?

I got some news for you
Or MS
Der ventet han til det gjensto 250 meter...synd han hadde glemt suksessoppskriften i går😉
