      In my opinion I believe his success is largely if not completely due to his family. He has two older brothers who are runners and by the time he was ready to be a runner, his brothers could help him grow very quickly as with their experience they would know the best ways to train and advance in the sport.

    You guys that comment in this thread claiming he can not win without drugs ? He come from a runners family , with a hard working dad who had an idea that their kids would become runners since age 10 . Hard training daily , he teached his kids to enjoy the training sessions and enjoy the pain . He teached his kids how to only eat healthy food. They want to do everything right because they are perfectionists. Their dad is the first one to say NO to drugs . It's not like in American sports where all the top athletes seem to think they need it. Besides in Europe they are tested regularly , and when I say regularly at least once every 2 weeks. Jakob is pure talent combined with very hard work , he should be the first in line to compete with the Kenyans and Afro American runners and get the world record in 2-3 years time.

    • @siegfriedverheijke
      @siegfriedverheijke 5 лет назад

      Hi bardo0007, I agree with most of what you said. However, their diet can be improved, as they still eat a lot of crap food on a regular basis. My guess is that this will change in the years to come, as more evidence (and documentaries like The Game Changers) is coming out that a plant-based whole foods diet, when balanced right, is actually better for an athlete than foods that are filled with saturated fats and cholesterol (eggs, milk, meat...).

      Remarkable indeed. I love his running style - forward, like the Africans, and all tight, with minimal loss of energy. I am starting to copy his running style now, as I need to increase my efficiency and speed as well (I do amateur trail running in Chile). In a couple of years, when his body is fully formed, he can start working harder on his glutes and hamstrings for even more speed. And he will indeed need to tune his diet in order to deal with the higher demands on his body. Wonderful to look at, and the Team Ingebritsen documentary series is fantastic.

    Was this the young man a yr or two ago who was the youngest to run under 4 for the mile? I think as a 16 yr old? Beat some top guys!

    Be fair people. The commentators didn't know that they were looking at the greatest runner ever. They should be able to pronounce his name by now.

    The Ingebritsen brothers are so sick!
    They are mainly trained by their dad and just look at how passionate he is facebook.com/nrksport/videos/10157501363822796/
