    • @omgiheartpie
      @omgiheartpie 6 лет назад +27

      Fair enough, but at the same time it is hardly the belief among the vast majority of serious track fans that a huge percentage of top athletes are completely clean and the recent revelations that some Kenyan and other athletes have tested for various steroids and blood-boosting drugs is only going to help strengthen and rationalize that conviction. I don't like supporting convictions or arguments without logic or scientific and empirical reasoning but just watch Kiprop toy and make a mockery of the field on numerous occasions in the championship races and monaco and you have to become suspicious at some point, especially when he is associated with Rosa

    • @SportiClips
      @SportiClips 6 лет назад +13

      omgiheartpie Yes, I understand where you are coming from and yes I am aware that there has been many top tier athletes found to be doping. But just because 1 or 2 eggs are broken in a box does not mean that all the eggs are broken. Really until there is sufficient evidence to back up what Britain's Press Association has reported then it comes down to the old age saying, innocent until proven guilty. It will be a real let down if Asbel is found guilty, but until then I will continue to support Asbel Kiprop for his incredible accomplishments.

As the saying goes, records are made to be broken. Still, breaking 3:26 is a tall order for anyone though. 3:43's more attainable.

      In the Olympics, all the runners ran a ridiculously slow first 3 laps & then sprinted the last lap. It was a tactical race with no one trying to set a fast pace.

    • @joceelee
      @joceelee 7 лет назад +18

      Also, there's no pacer in the Olympics.

    • @ivicapavic3381

      I don't get why the best players engage themselves in slow tactical races with 300m sprints amd risk some crazy sprinter taking gold medal. I mean, if you know only you can run sub 3:30:00, why not go all out at a fast pace and secure the win earlier? And, before you start with the "no pacemakers" argument, they have watches, they're not running blind, for Pete's sake.

      Ivica Pavić they also had a heat and semifinal to run only days before not to mention environmental/personal factors that can affect the race drastically. This race was also months before the Olympics so expecting an individual to keep verbatim levels of fitness is in itself a rarity.

    Lo de Mo Farah es extraordinario. No tuvo ningún récord mundial, pero nunca antes en la historia ha habido otro corredor que bajara de 3.30.00 en 1500, 13.00 en 5.000, 27.00 en 10.000 y de 1 hora en medio maratón. Era como una navaja Suiza. Nadie puede ser tan versátil y suficientemente bueno en pruebas tan distintas.
