Ingebritsen is really a 5000m guy that seems to like the 1500m more as he races it more. The other guys are really good at the moment, but they’re just challengers. JI is always the one leading and pushing.
Jakob has run 3:26.73 for the 1500, the fourth fastest time in history. He's an Olympic Champion and Diamond League Chanpion at 1500. I think that makes him a 1500m guy as well. Jakob's personal best at the 5000 is 12:48:45. That's "only" the 20th fastest time in history. He has an impressive array of gold and silver medals at both distances in international competitions. He's the world record holder in the 3000. I think it's pretty safe to say that he's great at all middle distances races.
The winner Nuguse runs like he's in a relaxed jog for the whole race. A good race but I would have liked to have seen the World champion and the Olympic champion put up a better fight. Well done Nuguse, always good to see a new winner in the top races.
Felt a bit underwhelming, honestly. All 4 top guys there but only naguse was running well. If we had Ingebrightsen in his 3000m wr shape and Kerr in his top form (like he still is, considering his 5th avenue mile record), we could have seen something truly exceptional.
Stop making excuses this was amazing run for all. They were literally only from the WR by less than 5 seconds. Jakob was only 2 seconds away from his PB. You don't get that close with bad shape.
