By the way, the standard definition in computer science is that 1KB = 1024 bytes (that is, 2 raised to the power of 10 bytes and 1MB = 1024KB. Therefore, the size of your first file is 209715200 bytes, which when converted to MB (divide by 1024*1024) gives exactly 200MB. Unfortunately, some use the definition that 1KB = 1000 bytes and 1MB = 1000MB, which leads to the size being reported as 209.7MB. Hope this info helps :)

Awesome! I couldn't figure out how to use WinZip Pro to split, and I'm using the SanDisk iXpand USB hard drive, which is amazing - but limits files to 4GB, and the file I need to put on the hard drive is 7GB.

What does the "Solid archive" setting actually do? I need to compress a large folder of files and split it into multiple parts, send it over the net and extract it at the other end. Best settings for that?

+danny garcia Just went & checked out Keka, all you have to do is drag the first file (ending in 001) into Keka & it automatically grabs the rest of files in the chain. It actually seems to work if you drag any of the fragments into the chain. Works like a charm!

Heads up - Keka 1.1.22 creates 'VOL' files when using the 7Z format than RAR files. Assuming VOL and RAR files are one in the same? Curious if VOL files will unarchive correctly on PC.
