Ahhhhh yes bootleg, I have broken multiple derailleurs, fractured my wrist, and been chased by a herd of big horn sheep at bootleg. Always a good time 😁
I hit Ginger in April, definitely one of the gnarliest trails I have ever ridden. The camera never does it justice, so steep and tech and big consequences, you made it look easy. Props 🤘🤘🤘
Wow! At least you picked an easy trail to break in the new baby. I'm pretty sure I would have left some skin somewhere along there! Yes, Merrick is a legend. Good riding both of you.
Holy smokes .. I have that trail on my to ride list .. but am having second thoughts .. those rocks look very unforgiving . You guys killed it .. as usual .
Holy shit Merrick!!.. But, so not surprised. In a half shell on a trail bike on Ginger.. hahahaha WOW. Nate, it was fun meeting you and Pete at Cowboy, thanks for letting me check out your van. Hope you had fun on Boneshaker! Your DH bike looks sweet
Holy cow! Nothing like riding nose down into the abyss on ball bearings. Looks like the DH bike got you down safely. Crazy trails. Merry Christmas Nate. May your new year be full of fun adventures and beautiful places.
I was out there last year, rode a rented Nomad on Snakeback and some of the other trails. It's a whole nother level of gnar out there! Looks like you got the right bike for it!
Man I remember the first time I ride ginger during interbike back like in 98/99 - rode it on a borrowed trail bike and it was straight up mental. Good footage bro!
I knew that was bootleg just from the thumbnail! YES!!! Such a sick place to ride! That place eats tires like you wouldn't believe. I've been fortunate enough to never kill one there, but I've seen so many tire casualties out there. Killer riding as always. So stoked you put out out bootleg canyon video!
And congrats on the new ride. Looks killer! At about the 6:00 mark in your video when you're on Sidewinder, the trail forks, you can go up the hill or to the right of it. If you go up that hill, the back side of it is what they call the poop chute. It's a sweet steep narrow chunky spot. I can't believe you guys hit Ginger! Blind I assume? That looked insane! That's one I've never tackled out there and now I can see why, haha. So nuts.
Any plans for a follow up review as to how the sb165 is with the 200 DC fork? Would really be interested to see how you’re liking it. Plus more gnarly footage is always good 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Not sure if you kept camera angle setting the same or extra squish on fork made the view a bit abstracted but maaaan, who on Earth even decide to made the trail in that chunk?!? Bet you are extremely stocked about new build, that is some fine riding, Yeti performed like hairless unicorn on steroids .......... excellent video, love it, cheers V!!! Hey maaaan and happy holidays to you, Pete and to your closest ones!!!
I've lived in Vegas for 12 years, regularly ride the double blacks, but still haven't mustered up the willpower to give Ginger a go. But it's on the bucket list.
My God, you two can ride. I watch a lot of BKXC and Skills with Phil, and they are both really good but you make them look like children. But to be fair, they aren't professionals. I appreciate your videos man, keep riding!
Thanks for the kind words. To be clear, Phil absolutely shreds and is "pro". BKXC is a youtuber first, mountain biker second. We each appeal to a different audience. Glad you enjoy my content.
@@natehills9388 Thanks for the reply! I agree about Phil and BKXC, I did not mean to put them down, which it really looks like I did in my comment. For that I apologize to them. They are both fantastic riders, much better than I will ever be. I subscribed to your channel and looking forward to more of your content.
Need to be a damn mountain goat to navigate half that trail. Rocky, off camber.....nope, not going to do it. SB165DH seemed to handle it all in stride. Thinking the rider has more to do wit it than anything. Thanks for the video.
Yeah I live in the town right next to Bootleg and that’s the only place I’ve gone mountain biking and can’t wait till I could go somewhere else cause right now I can’t travel on my own cause I’m only 15
EEvo per Yeti’s specs the bike is rated for a DC fork as well. I’m curious though how it rides with the extra 20mm slacking the HTA to a ridiculously slack 62.5° 😮
Did my new Yeti SB165DH put up with the roughest, most abusive DH trails I have ever ridden? Tune in to find out.
@Michael Freyler I am running a Stages Dash M50
How much does the whole bike weigh?
@@klstrucker930419 I never weigh my bikes... Maybe 34 with DH tires?
The smash pony did fine. You though🤔... dare I say sketchy 😂
Ahhhhh yes bootleg, I have broken multiple derailleurs, fractured my wrist, and been chased by a herd of big horn sheep at bootleg. Always a good time 😁
Pete builds one hell of a bike!
Best mechanic!
Wow. That was some nucking futs steep gnar. Bravo. Bet the cold beer was tasty.

Cheese grater

I was sitting with my mouth open and my mind blown for the whole trail Ginger... probably the gnarliest trail I've ever seen.
Ginger is legit.
it may be the gnarliest trail in the lower 48 states.
Pete's one hell of shop dog and even gets down on anchovy..... Sick build and ride!
Holy cow! Nothing like riding nose down into the abyss on ball bearings. Looks like the DH bike got you down safely. Crazy trails. Merry Christmas Nate. May your new year be full of fun adventures and beautiful places.
Merry Christmas!
“Damn son!” Definitely seems like a proper testing 🤘

That makes me wanna build a DH bike too! Nice vid Nate!
Get on it!
Well, surfing in the trenches with your new couch!! Rad 🤩🤘
Ditch pickle.
Bootleg makes everywhere else seem soft and smooth
Couldn't agree more.
The scenery is always art. If you look at the rotten weather and the sky of Chosun, you will only sigh.
Man I remember the first time I ride ginger during interbike back like in 98/99 - rode it on a borrowed trail bike and it was straight up mental. Good footage bro!
Ginger is so nasty! May be easier on a trail bike, due to the janky nature and tight bits.
Damn dude what a great bike build by Pete lol and what a badd ass trail to test it on, you and Pete have a great holiday👍💪👊🏆
Happy holidays man!!

My rear tire was basically bald after a few days of riding, haha. Cheese grater.
We did ride poop chute a few times, so good. Reasonably committing line.
Ginger looked like a lot of nope from me. My favorite video of yours so far
Ginger is a fist-fight.
Wow ! Ginger is crazy ! I love it !!! Thx for the vidéo !!!
Ginger is unreal!
That intro whoehahaha... hell of a bike Nate!!! Great ride with it! Rough!!!
Nate. Bootleg is the best. You wouldn't be disappointed!!!
So good! The ground is angry.
Man, that was some seriously rugged terrain. Digging the new rig! Don't think I've seen a trail/Euduro bike with a dual crown.
Damn you Yeti and your non-DH ways. Really want to see a proper Yeti DH rig on the mountains again. Bootleg looks legit!!
Insane in the Membrane!! Thanks for another awesome ride brutha!🤙Happy Holidays to you and yours✌🚵
Brutal jagged landscape.
I used to never have a need for a downhill bike. Now I need one desperately!
One of the last place in the States that you can actually go faster on a DH bike. So good.
That is some serious gnar!! You are a Beast my friend!!!
You are killin me bro! I gotta get me one of those! Enjoy and try not to be too hung over for the ride!
Alcohol metabolizing is instant energy, lol
I think you're taking the same road trip I took last year at this time. Absolute blast, the riding at bootleg was rowdy!
Bootleg made me smile.
Bootleg has the cheese grater terrain/rock. Will make you bleed with even barely touch it - penalties are steep for a fall there!
No crashing allowed!
Man, that looks rough...you both made it look smooth n flat. I know that’s not the case. Good fun, now jonesian for a little DH. Cheers Nate.
missed you by 2 days! would loved to have checked out your Dual Crown SB165
Looks like some gnarly terrain. I'm headed out that way this weekend
Sweet, enjoy. Make sure to do a lap on Ginger.
17 tires WERE harmed in the making of this video
Pretty much sums up Bootleg perfectly.
Smash on, you crazy diamond!
man that track is crazy
Nate, you're going to need longer travel suspension for that gimbal.. Flossin that 165 looks hella fun!
Pretty sure that would be my ideal park bike.
Rad. I don’t think my GoPro videos have ever looked that good. Sick riding 🔥
Wow that was some serious chunk! The Peterbilt held up nicely. Merrick on an XC bike?! Geez
Haha, #peterbuild
I could see the trail in maybe six of that eleven minutes, insane!!
Any plans for a follow up review as to how the sb165 is with the 200 DC fork? Would really be interested to see how you’re liking it. Plus more gnarly footage is always good 🤘🏽🤘🏽
I hope to get some more time on 165 in the coming months. Haven't thrown a leg over it since this trip.
I look forward to it. Seriously considering a Yeti and this one is high in the list.
Breaking SB165 in porper! Serious chunk!
VEGAS- my city. Bootleg is gnarly man, you shred.
Love your city!

Hey maaaan and happy holidays to you, Pete and to your closest ones!!!
Hairless unicorn on steroids.
Trails are intense!
That was a Christmas Classic
That is such a heavy video! Ginger Trail looks extra creepy though. Now I have to go to Vegas.
You should!
I've lived in Vegas for 12 years, regularly ride the double blacks, but still haven't mustered up the willpower to give Ginger a go. But it's on the bucket list.
Hell of a tough trail! Wow
OMG I have to get over to Bootleg. It looks EPIC 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Merrick makes one one of the gnarliest trails in the world look so simple. Someday I hope to be 1/4 the rider he is.
Merrick is an absolute beast!
Looks like you tried to un-slack your head tube angle a bit by dropping the clamps lower down the forks eh?
Slack isn't the issue, it just feels tall compared to what I was riding so the crowns are slammed.
Was that a mountain bike trail or a mountain goat trail? Looks sketchy but fun!
Absolute madness as usual, love it 🤘
That bike destroys everything in its path.
OH! Yeahhh!!👏👍💪💯
WTF?!?!?! This Is far tooooooo sick😂😂😂😂 congrats man
Pete's got skillz!
Best way to break in a new bike, just hit the craziest gnarfest you can find :D
im interesstet owning a sb165 hopefully soon just waiting for the frame. what lenght has the boxer my build ll come with trust shout. thanks
Running a 200mm Boxxer on here.
Dude so weird seeing you with that extra crown!
been running my 2014 nomad 3C with a 2014 fox40 air shock for years, under 31 pounds with derby AM carbon rims. DH brakes a must!

Everything will feel smooth! haha
Nate, dont think we didnt see those new gloves to match the bike!
You do not want to crash there. Those trails look brutal.
Trail builders must be like:DO YOU FEAR DEATH?
Hey Nate. I'm in BC right now. Haven't done Ginger yet, but have done most of the rest. Any tips or things I should know first?
DH casing tires mandatory, haha
Folding laundry while watching a couple RUclips vids. Didn't get shit done during this video😂!
I literally subscribed based on the intro alone
Pete is now a pro mechanic
and the gent in front is on a single crown...?! this is insanely nice moonscape riding. siiiick
XC bike and half lid. haha
@@natehills9388 his no hands uphill recovery wheelie says it all. this is kookoobirdz. my fav vid of yours
Merrick is ridiculously good.
Awesome 👍👍👍
SICK!!!!!
Seems the faster you went the better it rode.....like it wants to go fast through the knar.....
WOW! Ginger was spicy :D
I lost enough hair watching you guys on Ginger to make Elton John a whole closet full of wigs.
Some proper chunk!
Siiiick
I wish it will be awesome
Solid!
do it have a expedition with renthal bike who goes at this mountain or i need to bring my personal bike ?? and if yess whats the name of them thanks
Isn't it designed for single crown fork with 180mm of travel?
EEvo per Yeti’s specs the bike is rated for a DC fork as well. I’m curious though how it rides with the extra 20mm slacking the HTA to a ridiculously slack 62.5° 😮
Sitting at 63 with the 200
I love Merrick "Squad" Golz
Haircut Golz
Sick !!!
rad stuff!
I think the sign said Mtn Goat trail. Not Mtn Bike trail... 🤔🤯🤘
So 150 or 165DH? Which handles the rough stuff better?
The Boxxer is way more confidence inspiring. Apples to oranges.
I like
I knew you should've went mullet... 😜
This trail looks like the movie the hills have eyes lol
Nice!!!!
Is it fair to say the terrain is rocky?
What is your handlebar width??
760mm for this one.
what is your filming set-up?
Mans in front riding a Stumpjumper... crazy
Merrick is a crazy person.
I hope
