Fun Fact: Richard Cocciante did all the music of the musical "Notre Dame de Paris" including "Belle" and "Le temps des cathédrales".
Riccardo!
l faut aussi écouter : "Il mio Refugio". Magnifique.
... Et aussi "Mal" ! 😉
I like a lot his music and the lyrics, here s a better translation:
I got sunburned
Loveburned, "I-love-you"-burned
I don't know how, gotta remember
If it's a dream, you're really beautiful
I no longer sleep, I go on journeys
On sinking ships
I picture you naked on silk
Prevents me from sleeping, come to see me tomorrow
But you are not here, and too bad if I'm dreaming
When you go away, I no longer sleep at night
But you are not here, and you know, I want to over there
The opposite window, and to visit your paradise.
I put your pictures in my songs
And sailing ships in my house
I wanted to shove off, but I no longer do
I live upside down, no longer like my street
I was a hundred years old, I no longer recognize myself
I no longer like people since I saw you
I no longer wanna dream, I'd like you to come
To make me fly, to make me "I love you".
There, it's sure, gotta make up my mind
I'm gonna go over the wall and I fall into the void
I know you're waiting for my by the fountain
I've seen you going down a rainbow
I take the plunge into summer rainsd
I go sailing in my neighbourhood
It's a beautiful day, we can paddle
The sea is calm, we can shove off
What a beautiful French song omg
It's a play on words that only works in French: "un coup de soleil" is (litterally) a "stroke of sun", then come "un coup d'amour, un coup de je t'aime", which translates (litterally again) a "stroke of love, a stroke of I love you". It is a love song about someone who is suddenly struck by love. Richard Cocciante is very famous both in France and in Italy (where he is known as Ricardo Cocciante; one parent was French, the other, Italian). His first big hit, "Marguerite", is a fantastic song to discover, very lyrical, poetic and grandiose. He was also the composer for the Notre-Dame-de-Paris musical (you've commented on "Belle"). A great artist.
the most accurate translation proposal, I think
Richard Cocciante is the famous composer of the musical comedy , Notre-Dame de Paris , in 1998. It was a BIG success !
Yes!!!!! Thanks for this moment! Next Marguerite and in Italian: el mio refugio, my favourite I think! What a composer and singer with such a unique voice! I forgot this one: "Pour elle", a beautiful love song!
"Mal" - Richard Cocciante
"Pour elle"
"M"arguerite
Ascolta Riccardo Cocciante in italiano.
@@tardifvirginie5261 😉😜
il mio refugio from the same singer is in italian but still so emotional !
The subtitles are quite strange but the emotion is here!
I sang this song recently and it is still emotional for me everyting. You can fill love, love missing by his voice
Marguerite should definitely be the next one, it's a masterpiece !!! He also did a Spanish (very good), English and of course Italian version of this song
I love "Marguerite". One of my all-time fav songs ever. Just purely gorgeous.
oui et aussi "il mio rifugio"
@@chatnoir9242 merci derek je àdoore cette chanson
Honestly, the original in French and clearly superior to the Spanish, Italian and English versions...
The guy behind the musical "Notre-Dame de Paris".
He also sings in Italian (his father is Italian) and English. 😉
And spanish 😉
I think there is no American adapting. :(
il mio rifugio definitively is my favourite. I got goosebump everytime I hear it
Magnifique!
Such a beautiful song, un excellent compositeur et chanteur 😉
Amazing Italian singer .. so much passion in every song..I love him so much ..
Il est néauvietenam il est pas italien
@@gillessotty8156 ..père italien,mère française né a Saïgon ..on joue a qui ramène sa science ?

Amazing tonfion

Merci. 💕
I listened to Riccardo Cocciante At the age of 4 songs like "Margherita Bella senz'anima" backbone of our Italian spirit, supreme scratching voice❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!!
Cocciante released an album in English in 1976 and had a minor hit with When Love Has Gone Away. Lucia and several others on the album are superb.
😊 ... il mi refugio is a must listen
Magnifique chanson d'amour.
Automatic translation subtitles are a horrible mess. :-(
RUclips translation is rarely good
Yeah the woman she fall in love with is his new sun that why he can't even sleeping at night because even if she is not there her light still illuminated at night being so beautiful, so he think she's there but she is not and more he think of her more it burns him, like a sunburn that he got during the night alone when nothing can distract him of his love. Yeah and it's play of words like many must have said it. Sunburn in French : " coup de soleil " so coup de soleil, coup d'amour. . . Yeah coup meaning to strike, to hit. . . He was hit by love who was a sun that light the night. Yeah my mom loved that song so since I was a kid I had time to analyse the song ^^'
"Coup de soleil" means of course "sunburn" but "coup" alone should be translated as "shot"," "kick" or "blow" and it is the way it should be understoot.
The sunburn here is a "picture", it has a mettaphoric meaning... a bit like : he was burnt by the love he felt.
I saw that the translation was somewhat erratic, then here a possible translation of this pretty song :
The sunburn
I got sunburned
Loveburned, "I-love-you"-burned
I don't know how, gotta remember
If it's a dream, you're really beautiful
I no longer sleep, I go on journeys
On sinking ships
I picture you naked on silk
Prevents me from sleeping, come to see me tomorrow
But you are not here, and too bad if I'm dreaming
When you go away, I no longer sleep at night
But you are not here, and you know, I want to over there
The opposite window, and to visit your paradise.
I put your pictures in my songs
And sailing ships in my house
I wanted to shove off, but I no longer do
I live upside down, no longer like my street
I was a hundred years old, I no longer recognize myself
I no longer like people since I saw you
I no longer wanna dream, I'd like you to come
To make me fly, to make me "I love you".
There, it's sure, gotta make up my mind
I'm gonna go over the wall and I fall into the void
I know you're waiting for my by the fountain
I've seen you going down a rainbow
I take the plunge into summer rainsd
I go sailing in my neighbourhood
It's a beautiful day, we can paddle
The sea is calm, we can shove off
But you're not there, and if I'm dreaming too bad
When you leave, I don't sleep anymore at night
But you're not there, and you know I want to go there
The window in front and to visit your paradise
But you're not here
You're not there
But you're not there, and if I'm dreaming too bad
When you leave, I don't sleep anymore at night
But you're not here.
Richard cocciante il mio refugio
"I've got a sunburn" metaphorically means "I'm love-sick" or "I'm broken-hearted", when love is like the sun__it gets under your skin and warms you up until the day it burns and hurts you. And when you become aware of it, it's already too late.
RUclips auto captions so bad !!!!
j 'adore
as you noticed, the eels were inspired by this melody in "That look you give that guy"? (btw, the lyrics are difficult, if not impossible to translate...lots of puns...)
"I don't sleep anymore at night"!
Sun burnt, because she's the sun for him.
Mon chanteur italien préféré avec Serge Reggiani (Sarah, ma liberté etc...)
he say ur not there I don't sleep at night
Un coup de je-t'aime
I don’t know who keeps sending you these suggestions, but he or she knows what they’re doing. Ricardo Cocciante is one of my favorite Italian artists. Please react to CINCERITA or Margarita. He sings In different languages but I like him best when he sings in Italian.
Listen Eels - that look you give that guy. Very big "inspiration".
Next Richard Cocciante song must be "avec simplicité " you Will love it I promise
j'en dors plus la nuit = I don't sleep anymore at night
Plus, without the S sounding at the end means "no more", while plus (with S sounding at the end (plusse) means "more". That's where the translation lost it for that part
" Savoir aimer de florent pagny " !
Riccardo Cocciante è italiano. Mi piacerebbe vedere qualche reazione di Cocciante in italiano: Cervo a primavera - Celeste nostalgia - Se stiamo insieme - Pedalando in bicicletta - Questione di feeling in duetto con Mina - Io canto - Poesia - La nostra lingua italiana - Amarsi come prima - Sulla tua pelle 😊 Grazie.🥰😘
Marguerite, absolute romantic song.
Dear Dereck, no need to put subtitles cause YT wrote shitty sentences and don't translate correctly and you read well lyrics at the end so...
visiting her "paradise" ....well...
...." Il mio rifugio" !!!!
react to 'il mio rifugio' from him' ♥
React to" bella sin alma" , he also sings in Spanish..
Oh please .... now i really need to see you react to Marguerite so bad....
In la luna que non c’e, Andrea Boccelli has sometimes the same voice (ruclips.net/video/RNuOdzbGe7w/видео.html).
The moment he jump to his tenor voice is just magic (and unique i think).
Sincérité , Pour elle
Agree with Marguerite!
But please STOP THESE SUBTITLES 🤪
🙏
😂
Please try Pour elle.
His name is RIccardo , not Richard. One of the classic big names in Italy.
The subtitles confused me...🤣🤣
What a terrible automatic translation :o
Love is like the sun, it's a metaphor. We are happy when the sun shines, but we can also burn. This song deals with love and loss. Remember the figure of Icarus...
He explains the metaphor with an anaphora. He catched _un coup de_ soleil (sunburn), _un coup d'_ amour (loveburn), _un cou d'_ je t'aime (Iloveyouburn).
He don't sleep longer, he don't sleeps anymore !
He's speaking to a woman. French don't let any mystery. In the lyrics, he said he imagines her totally naked on satin sheets.
Translation 😂😂😂
el mio refugio need
The automatic subtitles in this video are such a big joke !
It's Riccardo, not Richard
Subtitles translation is a wreck... Hahaha full random words...
Gosh! The automatic translation is a real, real pity! Could you please correct it?
translation is absolutely wrong 😂
Marguerite, marguerite !!
Merci! ( la traduction n'est pas bonne)
Marguerite by mr R.COCCIANTE
You cry dereck
And 'pour elle'
take care! the translation the lyrics are wrong . it's not what he sing 😕
The online translation is just awful ...
By God, the automated translation is appalling… take my advice and turn it off next time (or ask a professional translator ! like me)
the translation in the video is completely terrible and bad. you need a real translation. It's a parallel between falling in love and get a sunburn. He felt in love as he could have been sunburn, he couldn't prevent it.
