The misinformation of the law is inherent with law enforcement . As rookies they learn it from an old hand , who learned it from an old hand , who learned it from an old hand who never read it ether . The internet has given birth to a whole new citizen for the police to deal with . One’s who are able to look up Supreme Court decisions while standing on a street corner at 3am . The young cops will adapt , but the old ones just can’t seem to grasp the fact that the party is over & everything that they truly thought was law was a lie

Why can’t we have law enforcement officers that actually know the laws and don’t give meaningless directives while they simultaneously hope and pray to lock anyone up that doesn’t praise them and do as they say when they have zero authority or dominion over you unless your committing a crime? Unfortunately, no cop will ever read any of our comments because the “head in the sand” approach enables them to keep their fragile egos intact

I would love to hear about the court process, internal affairs investigations are a joke. Even huge settlements don't appear to phase the police - politicians either aren't interested or have given up trying to exercise control. All those other cops just standing around, who are they protecting? Nothing will change until it is possible for individual cops to be held responsible. Write their contracts to allow firing and/or prosecuting those bad cops without arbitrators making it impossible. Good work!

Maybe most police don't behave this way, but they do know exactly which officers DO, and they protect those officers. That makes them accomplices. That's like saying five of these bank robbers didn't kill anyone, but they did stand around with their guns and watch his back while #6 executed nine people one at a time. @Ron Spain There's an ex Assistant Director of the FBI (forgot his name) and he travels the world improving law enforcement jurisdictions. He was doing an interview about his work and he was saying that psychological testing shows that just over forty percent of people who apply to be a cop exhibit sociopathic traits (the need to control and bully, desire to hurt the weak, manipulative, deceptive, sadistic). He is cleaning up police forces by setting up best practice recruitment processes including psych testing to weed out the filth.
The problem is that most places in the US don't have these same processes so law enforcement culture has been shaped over many years by sociopaths who have created a culture that protects them and their disgusting behaviour.
The reason I replied this to you is that you said that many cops are predators and you're absolutely, dead right. In a very real sense.
We won't see any real change until cop unions are disempowered and recruitment processes start to test for malignant personalities, and exclude them from a role as a cop.
