this song has so many layers of meanings. many will hear the romantic overtones and leave it there. for me, it has another meaning - my mother passed away in 2017 and i took care of her every day for 6 months through 10 hospitals, 3 rehab centers, and 1 hospice. for me, when she says i get a little tongue twisted every time i talk to you when i see you, i imagine my mother in rehab sleeping at night and me sitting there wondering, when i leave tonight, will this be the last time i see her alive? so when i close my eyes, i still can see my mother's smile shining from her bed and i hear her voice saying my name. and the second half of the song is an inner monologue that plays over and over in my soul. tell me if made the wrong advances, tell me if i've made you feel ashamed - this question pushes me to do my best to impress my mother. there are ceilings in love and if romance is your ceiling, you're missing out on other deeper and richer ways to love someone.

I met someone very soon after a very abusive relationship. And I carried that mentally abused mindset into that next relationship. I wasn't ready and it ended. And because of sooo many bad decisions I lost him. I take ownership for my mistakes. Everyday I have regrets. EVERYDAY MY HEART HURTS. 💔 This man was the most AMAZING person I have ever met in my entire life. He literally picked me up & swept me off my feet when we first met and did not want to put me down. We laughed together, played together, had the most deepest meaningful honest conversations together, cried together, sang together and of course argued together. But, I loved him. I loved him like I've NEVER known LOVE could actually really ever EXIST this way. Something undescribable to express in words. He made me feel soooo many emotions but most of all he made me feel LOVED. And, I hope maybe somewhere deep inside I made him feel the same within his heart. No Matter what. And, he loved me with such a passion that because of my fears and trauma I wasn't able to recognize soon enough. I lost him for not recognizing that all he wanted to do was LOVE ME! I hurt him but in hurting him, I ultimately HURT MYSELF more in the end for not valuing the DIAMOND I had all along in front of me that loved me with every inch of himself. Hurting him was never intentional. I never healed and I lost him. I was too late to show him that I was wrong and that if given just 1 opportunity I would have given my entire life to make it up to him. To show him I love him with my ACTIONS and not just WORDS. I've tried to make things better and tell him I was wrong. But he didn't want to believe me. And, I can understand him that he lost his trust in me after so long. But if he only knew that I would have given him my entire self to make things work. In the end there's nothing more valuable than LOVE!!! He would tell me there's so many people that are together but don't love each other but we do! I would give anything to hear him say that to me again! Because we did LOVE EACH OTHER and I STILL DO LOVE HIM! AND he was RIGHT! I still love him. I carry him in my heart every single day. Looking into his eyes was like looking into his soul. I love this song so much, my wife surprised me during our wedding in 1997 and had it played when we were lighting the unity candle. Gloria is the perfect singer/songwriter. I do know Jon Secada wrote this.

I met someone very soon after a very abusive relationship. And I carried that mentally abused mindset into that next relationship. I wasn't ready and it ended. And because of sooo many bad decisions I lost him. I take ownership for my mistakes. Everyday I have regrets. EVERYDAY MY HEART HURTS. 💔 This man was the most AMAZING person I have ever met in my entire life. He literally picked me up & swept me off my feet when we first met and did not want to put me down. We laughed together, played together, had the most deepest meaningful honest conversations together, cried together, sang together and of course argued together. But, I loved him. I loved him like I've NEVER known LOVE could actually really ever EXIST this way. Something undescribable to express in words. He made me feel soooo many emotions but most of all he made me feel LOVED. And, I hope maybe somewhere deep inside I made him feel the same within his heart. No Matter what. And, he loved me with such a passion that because of my fears and trauma I wasn't able to recognize soon enough. I lost him for not recognizing that all he wanted to do was LOVE ME! I hurt him but in hurting him, I ultimately HURT MYSELF more in the end for not valuing the DIAMOND I had all along in front of me that loved me with every inch of himself. Hurting him was never intentional. I never healed and I lost him. I was too late to show him that I was wrong and that if given just 1 opportunity I would have given my entire life to make it up to him. To show him I love him with my ACTIONS and not just WORDS. I've tried to make things better and tell him I was wrong. But he didn't want to believe me. And, I can understand him that he lost his trust in me after so long. But if he only knew that I would have given him my entire self to make things work. In the end there's nothing more valuable than LOVE!!! He would tell me there's so many people that are together but don't love each other but we do! I would give anything to hear him say that to me again! Because we did LOVE EACH OTHER and I STILL DO LOVE HIM! AND he was RIGHT! I still love him. I carry him in my heart every single day. Looking into his eyes was like looking into his soul. I felt him to be genuine, honest and sincere when it came to his love for me. I just wasn't able to see it then. Until my last breath I will LOVE him and would have LOVED to be his partner in everyway and ultimately be a family. I still have faith in us but I ask god for guidance to keep going. My heart is broken but I learned many lessons in this relationship and especially losing him. He asked me multiple times if I would care for him the way I cared for my father while he was sick and dying of cancer. And, If he only knew I would give everything to care for him in EVERY WAY, EVERYDAY until MY LAST BREATH! AND, THE ANSWER IS YES! I would care for you for as long as I live. I haven't been able to move on with anyone because my heart belongs to only him. And I STRONGLY BELIEVE I WILL NEVER LOVE ANYONE ELSE BUT HIM ALWAYS UNTIL MY LAST BREATH! ABNIEL TE AMO! 7/84.

Ryan Hale The song reminds me of a time when I was younger and woman who was in love with me was so nervous about professing her love for me. It was a wonderful time in my life and when this song was routinely on the FM radio waves. I do understand what amorous means and I think we have different understandings of that definition.

American Progressives make me sick when they act like Castro's Cuba is some kind of ''Paradise'' when it is only a prison.
