The railway through Kielder in 1953, and the Bellingham Fair

This shows archive footage from the British Transport Films production showing the old Border Counties line running from Riccarton Juntion on the Waverley Line, to the Hadrian's Wall Line at Hexham. The line was shut in 1955. 1953 footage of the train train starting at Deadwater, stopping at Kielder Forest and Plashetts (former mining settlement now submerged below Kielder Water) to Bellingham to the fair. We then see footage that didn't make the film; and finally, cleaned up footage put in context.
